2 Copyright 2015 DCollinsworth 2 MATERIALS: Size 10 crochet thread in White, Red and Black, 7 crochet hook or hook needed to obtain gauge, needle to take crochet thread, two 18 chenille stems (for ea doll), one 1\2 wooden doll head (for ea doll), needle to take crochet thread, 6 Styrofoam wreath, size 1\4 ribbon in colors to match crochet thread (for hanging ornaments, 5 yds 1-1\2 wide White Ribbon (to wrap wreath), small amount of stuffing and craft glue. FINISHED SIZE: Snowman Kids: 3-1\2 tall Gauge: 8 hdc sts = 1, 6 rows hdc = 1, 5 sc sts = 1\2, 5 rows sc = 1\2 LEGS: With Black thread and 7 hook ch-3, sl st to form a ring. RND 1: Ch-1, work 8 hdc in ring, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. (8 sts) RND 2-11: Hdc ea st around, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. End rnd 11 fasten off. Make 2 for ea doll. ARMS: With Red thread and 7 hook ch-3, sl st to form a ring. RND 1: Ch-1, work 8 hdc in ring, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. RND 6: 2 hdc ea st around, sl st top beg hdc, fasten off. (36 sts) HAT BAND: ROW 1: With Red thread and 7 hook ch-2, sc 2 nd ch from hook, ch-1, turn. (1 st)

SCARF: ROW 1: With Red thread and 7 hook ch-3, hdc 3 rd from hook, ch-1, turn. (1 st) ROW 2-30: Hdc only st, ch-1, turn. End row 30 fasten off. PUTTING THE KIDS TOGETHER: To make the doll s body fold one chenille stem in half and insert fold in wooden head. Bend one side of the stem back up to the head (in half again) and twist together. Rep on other side. Find half way point on other chenille stem, fold ea end to center point. Lay doll on center, wrapping several times and twisting as you did for the legs. Glue white cap on top of head. Place the legs and arms you crochet over twisted stems. Place outfit over the body (without head) and arrange so it puffs out. Glue head to body. Glue black hat to head. Wrap scarf around neck and glue into place. Glue 3 black seed beads down outfit s front. ORNAMENTS: For ea doll as an ornament cut a 6 length of 1\4 wide ribbon. Knot both ends to make a lp. Glue knot to back of doll s body. For Swirls cut a 7-1\2 length of 1\4 wide ribbon. Fold over the top to make a 1 lp and knot ribbon there to hold. Glue the Swirls to the ribbon. For the Gum Drops cut an 8-1\2 length of 1\4 wide ribbon. Knot both ends to form a lp. With your crochet hook pull the knotted lp of ribbon through ea Gum Drop leaving about an 1 lp at top for hanging. WREATH: Wrap the 1-1\2 wide ribbon around the 6 Styrofoam wreath leaving 5 free at the top for hanging. Make one Swirl Doll, 5 small Swirls and 11 large Swirls. Glue the large Swirls around the face of the wreath. Glue the doll to one side. Go back and glue the small Swirls bet the large Swirls. You can loop the free ribbon over the back of a chair and fasten it to the wreath or simply fasten the lp and use it as a door or tree decoration. The Candy Kids would also make a nice place card holder for your dinning room table. Look good encircling a pillar candle or vase. Or add a pin back and wear it on your sweater, coat, hat, purse, you name it, and whatever you d like to add a little holiday charm to. RND 3: * sc next st, (ch-1, turn, sc) 5 times, ch-1, turn, sl st in bottom 1 st st made, sl st next st, sc next st, rep bet () 7 times, ch-1, turn, sl st in bottom 1 st st made, sl st next st, * rep bet ** 4 times end with sl st fasten off. LARGE SNOWFLAKE: With white worsted weight yarn and H hook rep rnd 1-3 of small snowflake. Fasten off end rnd 3. ADDED DECORATION: SNOWMAN KID SKIER: You will need craft glue, a hole punch, two toothpicks for ea kids as well as brown foam sheet. Cut two 1\2 X 3 long piece of foam for the skis. Trim one end to a point (front of ski) and round the back end. Glue these to the feet of a snowman kid. Cut two round disc out of the brown foam sheet. Insert the pointed end of a toothpick into the center of ea one. Slid the other end of the toothpick bet several sts on the kid s hand. Now you are ready to turn it into a table top decoration or add a hanger and place it on the tree.
