To appropriately celebrate its 50th anniversary, we released this legendary sewing machine with a broader choice of stitches and in a striking elna-red finish. The new Lotus 2 stays true to the original model s innovative concept and spirit. It combines maimum sewing pleasure and minimum fuss. Thanks to its unique carry-case concept and folding flaps that open with the flick of a lever to form a sewing table, you ll always be ready to sew on the go. The elna Lotus opens up like the flower s petals and reveals a treasure of technology. From the integrated pop-up spool pin at the head of the machine to the automatic thread cutter, built-in needle threader and accessory storage, the compact and streamlined design aids practicality and portability. Our finishing touch was to place the needle bar in a unique central position to give you much more room to move and manoeuvre your fabric. THE PRESENT MEETS THE PAST The Lotus 2 in the architectural setting of the former Elna factory where the original model was designed and manufactured 50 years ago. INSPIRED BY OUR HISTORY Elna s innovative design at MoMA The first ever compact machine with a unique design: the original elna Lotus from 1968 is in the collection of The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.

CARRYING HANDLE Because an easy approach to sewing is part of the Lotus spirit, this model is loaded with features that are essential for a variety of sewing tasks. Its key functions are simply accessible using direct access buttons or a touch pad for the selection of stitches. Its 100 stitches have been selected for their sewing suitability and include 7 buttonholes. We ve combined utility stitches with decorative stitches to create a range of effects, from patchwork, quilting and darning to appliqué and embellishments.
