Purchases Threads from Country Earlier today I showed you a bunch of photos of goodies that I saw at Country Threads Now I ll show you what I bought. Remember me posting here and here about my dislike of paper piecing? Well you ll never believe what I bought a pattern for paper piecing. What was I thinking?!?!? In my defense, look at this quilt all finished.

How could I resist? The blocks are 3 x 3 and quilt finishes at 21 x 27. I love it. I don t know if I will ever finish the quilt, but I do know I am going to try at least one log cabin block. If I hate it really bad, I will turn the block into a pincushion. If I hate it just a little bit, I might make another block. If I love the block SO much that I can ignore how much I dislike the paper piecing, then I just may finish the quilt. I still can t believe I bought a paper piecing pattern especially after all my rants about not liking paper piecing. I still don t like it.but oh, I love that little quilt. It s a masterpiece. I wish you could see it in person, you probably would have bought the pattern too. that darn cute. It s I also bought the frame for this wool project. I ve had the pattern and have wanted to make it. Remember

that I keep insisting that I want to finish some wool projects. I figured if I bought the frame, I d be more likely to finish the project. Here s what that project will look like all finished. I still love this. I also bought some glue so I can finish up some punch needle projects I have around here. too There are two charm packs there They are packaged up so nicely. The label says, The Good, The Bad & the Ugly. Being the word ugly was in bold. That means that the charm squares in the package are suppose

to be ugly. I haven t opened the packages up yet but from what I can see they are just great. I only picked the ugly packages. The good packages and the bad packages, were more expensive. The cheapskate in me decided to go with the uglies and save money. It was a great trip to Country Threads My goal is to have one paper pieced block done before I go back to Country Threads again (I know it s a SMALL goal but at this point, I d be happy if I made just one..remember it s me and it s paper piecing. One is good.) oh, I need to finish a wool project by then too. Touring Country Threads Over Christmas break, hubby and I decided to take a little bread from the kids and run away for two days. It was a WONDERFUL break and we had a great time. We couldn t decide where to go..then he said, I bet you would enjoy a trip to Country Threads. Boy was he right. Then we headed west. Here s a little shop tour for you all to enjoy.the gals were just starting to tear down the Christmas decor and put up new so if you visit soon, you ll see a whole different look. This quilt is Alexander s Bean Pot.I have been tempted by this quilt but haven t caved in yet. Trust me, I did cave and bought a few things. How could I not?

I am totally not an applique girl but it I was, I would make this! But as I sit here writing this blog post I am thinking I bet I could do it in wool though.hmmmm!

This block of the month was really cute. I don t do many blocks of the month anymore I just don t keep up. But if I was a block of the month gal.i d be tempted.

I want this pattern I had it in my hand. I walked all through the store. Then when I looked at all the other things that were in my hand.well, something had to be put back and this pattern was it. Maybe next time it will be mine. make one of the pincushions for sure too cute! I plan to

I am not a Christmas decorator, but I loved this little braid table runner. The gals at Country Threads are such masters at displaying things. Look. You can purchase the kit for the braid table runner See that little roll, that s the kit. How convenient to only purchase what you need without a lot of left over fabric LOVE this! I have LOTS of buttons. I ve tried to think of ways to display them. This little quilt would be a perfect place. It s called Button Town.

Here s a version of the Little Twister pattern. I love it all kitted up and ready to go. I have the already there s red in my scrap bucket hmmm pattern I have seen this quilt before Red and white together just call my name.

Can you believe this quilt it s made with a panel. Typically panel quilts are so you know, panel quilts. They typically don t have pizzazz or personality. This one sure does. Here s another quilt I would really like to make. deep rich colors. I love the

I am not a Santa girl but this was cute. snowman the best so cute. I love these dots aren t they singing spring. I like the small

Here s another pattern that I had in my hand that I ended up putting back. It s called Stepping Stones. See the larger block to the left? That s one of Country Threads barn quilts. They come in a couple different sizes and lots of different designs. If you re like me and have dreamed of making Christmas stockings but it never happens here s a couple that will tempt you. I love these.

As we traveled to Country Threads, I was working on a wool project in the car. I promised myself, no new wool projects until I finish one. I stuck to my promise.no new wool projects came home with me but this one REALLY wanted too! It s a table runner. The wool is stitched to a linen fabric.oh, I love it! The rick rack around the edges was super cute. I even have a spot in the house for it!

The pattern for these little wool ornaments on the tree wanted to come home with me too, but I kept my vow. No new wool projects until I have one finished. Aren t they cute though?

So are you curious with what I ended up purchasing? I ll save that for a post later today..trust me, you ll be surprised by what I purchased. This post is already filled with lots of photos and eye candy. Aren t I lucky to live close enough to visit this great quilt shop?? You can see why it s my favorite quilt shop. Tour of Country Threads. Way back (it feels like months ago) on July 13th my oldest two girls and I headed over to Country Threads Quilt Shop in Garner, Iowa. I was so crabby. I forgot my camera. Kelli kindly offered hers but then I forgot to get the pictures from her camera finally here they are.

Check out this quilt. cheater panel?!?!?! We were in shock. Can you believe it is made with a All three of us had to touch and examine it to believe it was true. Check out all those amazing barn quilt blocks in the back of the picture. You can purchase them from Country Threads. I told you about them back in this post (they are painted but look like fabric!). Here s a sneak peek I ll show you more tomorrow. We had just been to the shop six weeks earlier but everything was moved around and looking so fresh.

I swear I can look and look and look.

I was on a mission to get fat quarters so I wasn t tempted by patterns.well that s a lie. I was tempted. I just resisted temptation. I ve seen a lot of polka dot love all over blogland.both the above and below photos show off polka dots well. They were amazing in person. loving that quilt. I can see any girl, of any age The patriotic corner was amazing I am always attracted to

patriotic everything. They had a great display of Moda s French General fabric too. Everything there is always so eye appealing. displays are so inviting. The baskets and

Kelli and I both are loving this quilt hanging over the table in the photo below. I spent most of my in the store time checking out the wool section.i love this.

But the one below, I love even more. When I was at the shop a few weeks ago I bought this pattern but they didn t have the sample done oh WOW. I love it even more. I have the goodies I need to get working on it. Oh if only there were time.these last few weeks have been kicking me in the butt. They have been filled to the hilt. I ve been having lots of fun though.lots of fun! I wouldn t change a thing.

I have a few more pictures to show you from our Country Threads visit I ll try to get them up tomorrow.can you see why it s my favorite shop. Cozy, warm..inviting.my kind of place! A Tour of Country Threads the Needle Craft Version Here s the last day of the Country Threads Quilt Shop in Garner tour. If you missed the other tours, check out day one here and day two here. Country Threads is not only know for their awesome patterns and quilts but they are also know as one of the best places to punch needle goodies. Have you punch needled before? I have and really enjoy it. It s a great take along project and who doesn t need a take along project especially over the summer. Here s a sampling. This one is one of my favorites.

Isn t this so cute attached to this little shovel??

I have done a couple project but didn t know how to finish or display them. See this little wood paddle this one is attached to? They sell them in several different sizes and shades of color. There is no limit to what the gals have attached the projects to. This picture isn t the best but check out how they attached the piece to the back of this antique step stool.

The ladies were so helpful they answered LOTS of questions. Here s another unique stool the project was attached to.

They also have these cute boxes customers can purchase and attach pieces to. Isn t this little bag a cutie?

Here s one attached to a basket. You know I love a chicken

Here s another one attached to a basket. I had a couple questions. How do I attach a project to an object.answer hot glue gun. REALLY!?! Yep they said. They if a person wants to remove it heat the glue with a blow dryer and it will release. WOW!!

Another question how do I prep my project to attach it? Take a glue stick and rub it over the back and let it dry then the threads won t pull out. She said most of the projects in the shop have been antiqued with a spray.i meant to purchase some and forgot. See what I mean about Country Threads being sample heaven?!?!

I just love samples and friendly service. The ladies even showed me a product that allows a stitcher to stitch the designs onto fabric.

This photo isn t the best but I love the design. The camera really glared with this one but I love the frame it s in

This last one it s one I m going to get when I return to the shop in July.

I have a couple punch needle things here that need to be mounted and need to be finished up. It was great to go to the shop and get some advice and even confidence on moving forward with the projects. After visiting, I pulled out my box and am punching again. It s such a great TV watching project. This is just half of their display.honestly, there s more I didn t even get pictures of. Helpful advice great products well worth the trip to Country Threads.
