2 Paul ERNST Maschinenfabrik GmbH Company Ernst was established over 50 years ago. During first years ERNST was a successful producer of wood sanding machines. During the 1980 s ERNST started with the production of sheet metal deburring machines. The very first machines were designed to deburr and edge break from plasma and oxyfuel cutted parts, followed by machines for thin sheet metal parts cutted by laser or punched. Especially for that kind of parts Ernst developed the wet deburring technology consistently. As the sheet metal market was growing over the years, ERNST decided in 2008 to fully focus on development and assembly of sheet metal deburring solutions. At the same time Ernst renewed the whole range of metal deburring machines. The proven deburring technology had been transferred in new desinged machine types. The proven type TITAN for plasma and oxyfuel cutted parts was supplemented by a small machine PLUTO in 600mm working width. In year 2010 followed the machine types ATLAS and NEPTUN, in dry and wet execution, specially designed for the sheet metall industry. The special feature is the modular desing, which is absolut unique on the market. The latest development dated 2013 is a compact wet deburring system named TRITON in width 1100 mm. Ernst sells his machines all over the world, with an export share of 70%. 3 It all depends on you The modular technology guarantees you a maximum of flexibility. A running machine can be extended with further modules at any time, even many years after installation. Deburring Perfectly removes burrs, reflexions and spray-over after plasma, oxyfuel or laser cutting as well as on punched parts. The flexible ERNST deburring drum is the most suitable technology for that. It is mostly working on the edge and uses an open sheet of grinding-material. Edge breaking Break the edges after deburring process with long life steel wire brushes, whereby you do not have to think about brush change for many of years. Edge rounding with 2 counterrotation brushes With two counterwise rotating abrasive lamella brushes you can achieve a radius on sheet metal edges. Edge rounding with system Spin System Spin is working with 4 short parallel arranged abrasive brushes. Their 3 times superimposed movings guarantees a uniform and good edge rounding. Oxide layer removal Remove the oxide layer after laser cutting, for a better adhesion of paint. Special spring wire brushes remove oxide layer up to 12 mm from each side (total 25 mm). Edge rounding with system Rotor In the rotation module 8 abrasive lamellae brushes guarantee to achieve edge radius up to 2 mm and a uniform rounding result on every edge. Double sided processing Deburring your parts from top and bottom in one pass. A great benefit especially for bigger parts. Even the edge breaking or rounding and oxide removal in every combination is possible. Graining By using a wide belt module you can achieve a spectacular graining on the surface of your parts. With wide belts in different grit you can fulfill a lot of requirements of your customers regarding surface look and quality.

4 Cost-efficient deburring solutions With the ERNST technology every customer is able to reduce the costs for deburring and raise up the quality of their parts. Often the break even point of an Ernst machine is less than half a year. How is that possible? Due to using the flexible ERNST deburring drum, which works with an open abrasive sheet instead of an endless belt. This combination guarantees to focus the deburring pressure only on the edge of the parts, which raises up the lifetime of the used abrasive. Ernst makes the difference! Processing of warped elements With the highly flexible ERNST deburring drum, together with the whole unit riding on an air-cushion, parts with a warpage of up to 6 mm in longitudinal direction can be processed. Concentration on the edges As the soft rubber expands over the workpiece edges, the highets grinding pressure is on the workpieces edge while on the surface, the soft rubber leads to almost no material removal. Ernst makes the difference! Due to the unique design of the ERNST deburring cylinder, the grinding takes place on the edges of the workpieces rather than on the surface. This at the same time leads to a much longer lifetime of the abrasive and to a superior deburring result. Grinding pressure is concentrated on the workpiece contour

ERNST steel wire brushes are characterized by a huge life time. They can be redressed for several times, before they need to be changed. Normally you use the same brushes for a lot of years Due to additional magnetic or vacuum track, processing of small parts is possible. Improve your quality! Hand deburring is expensive and very often it creates a secondary burr. Thanks to ERNST your parts will be perfectly prepared for the next production step in shorter time and much better quality. Speed up the material-flow in you production! Hand deburring wastes a lot of time. Therefor the invest in an ERNST deburring machine is a landmark in any production. Very often the processing time for deburring get s times faster by using an Ernst machine. Some deburring results, as intensive edge rounding, can never be done by hand in the same quality. Save your money in each working hour! Life time of an open abrasive sheet is much longer, than life time of a wide belt. Wide belt units processes the whole surface of the part, which reduces the life time significantly. Abrasive for deburring process is an element, which wears fast. Therefore low operation costs are very important. Compared to a wide belt, the ERNST deburring cylinder which uses an open abrasive sheet has a clear benefit of costs.

7 PLUTO The best small deburring machine in the world. The smallest ERNST machine has reached a perfect reputation in the last years. Everywhere it works, it s irreplaceable and takes over the work of many workers in a much higher quality. It allows to earn the money back in a short time. Executed with a magnet track over the whole working width this machine can handle small parts from credit card size up to 600mm. Perfect deburring and edge processing guarantees a high quality and payback time of invest is less than one year. Problem Oxyfuel and plasmacut workpieces ofter have big burrs and large amounts of slag. Those workpieces often also are warped due to the heat of the cutting process. This model works in the biggest steel service centers in Europe and all over the world, where it is necessary to remove big burr after laser or plasma- and oxygen cutting, as well to break or round the edges. 10 NEPTUN More than you expect The modular Neptun machine is the all-rounder in our product range. Designed as wet deburring system it allows to work with all materials in one machine, even such as foiled or low heat resistance ones as well as oily parts. This can be done without tools change, or other preparations. All modules in a machine can be used singular. At the outfeed of machine is a washing and drying device, whereby all parts leave the machine clean and dry. A filter system below the machine with a closed water circulation, guarantees a minimum of care and maintenance. Optionally a centrifuge is possible for a perfect cleaning and availability of emulsion. The Neptun machine is an ideal type of machine for everybody, that cuts every day with plasma or laser all types of materials and who requires perfect precision and repeatability.
