ET9/RP Dear Dr. Haar: Attached is a compliance statement with respect to a request by the Department of Commerce (DOC) in their comments of February 23, 2007 regarding SMMPA's 2006 Integrated Resource Plan Docket No. ET9/RP In those response comments the DOC recommended that: "... 2 Burl W. Haar June 25,2007 Page 2 Compliance Statement for MOD In Response to MPCU DOCKET ET9/RP , Section HI., RECOMMENDATIONS, B. ENERGY AND PEAK DEMAND FORECASTS, p.26 "...the Department recommends that SMMPA inform the Commission by July 1, 2007 how it will comply with the new FERC reliability standard MOD " Southern Minnesota Municipal Power Agency is currently compliant with and will remain compliant with the requirements of NERC Standard MOD The standard is comprised of one requirement with four sub-requirements. Each of which are addressed as follows: Rl. The Load-Serving entity. Planning Authority and Resource Planner shall each provide the following information annually on an aggregated regional, subregional power pool, individual system, or Load-Serving Entity Basis to NERC, the Regional Reliability Organization and any other entities specified by the documentation in standard MOD-016-1_R1 Rl. 1 Integrated hourly demands in megawatts (MW) for Prior year. SMMPA provides the Midwest Reliability Organization (MRO) with the prior years hourly demands through a summary, Form 3 data filing, filed in the first few weeks of the new year. Rl.2 Monthly and annual peak hourly demand in MW and Net Energy for Load in gigawatthours (GWH) for the prior year. SMMPA provides the monthly and annual peak hourly demands for each individual month through several periodic submissions to the MRO throughout the year, Rl.3 Monthly Peak Hour Forecast demands in MW and Net Energy for Load in GWH for the next two years. SMMPA provides this information as part of its Load and Capability submission made annually to the MRO. R1.4 Annual Peak hourly forecast demands (summer and Winter) in MW and Annual Net Energy for load in GWH for at least five years and up to ten years into the future, as requested SMMPA provides this information as part of its Load and Capability submission made annually to the MRO.
