No.86, 1 st Floor, 2 nd Main, Vayalikaval, Bangalore Tele fax: , fpsi.regd@gmail.com Website: MINUTES OF THE 33 rd ANNUAL GENERAL BODY MEETING OF FLUID POWER SOCIETY OF INDIA (Regd.), Bangalore, Held on 23 rd December 2010, At Hotel Atria,Palace Road, Bangalore In pursuance of clause No.40 of FPSI Constitution, the 33 rd Annual General Body Meeting of FLUID POWER SOCIETY OF INDIA (Regd.) for the year was held as scheduled on 23 rd December 2010 at 6.30 p.m. in Conclave Hall, Hotel Atria, Bangalore Notifications for convening this General Body Meeting were sent to all FPSI Industrial / Institutional / Individual s vide 1 st Notification Ref.: 9004/5B/10 Dated: sent to all FPSI s and 2 nd Notification Ref.: 9005A/GB/20/10 Dated: giving due notice period, as stipulated in the Constitution. 32 s attended the Annual General Body Meeting complying with the quorum necessary for holding the meeting and the attendance registration sheets were maintained. Mr. Naresh H V, General Secretary welcomed all the members and requested President Mr. Seethapathi Rao to chair the session and conduct the proceedings of the Annual General Body Meeting and also requested Mr. Sandeep Sodha, Mr. Hemanth Kumar & Mr. Gururaj G V to the dais. In his opening remarks, President Mr. Seethapathi Rao welcomed all the members attending the 33 rd Annual General Body Meeting and he thanked all the FPSI s for supporting the FPSI MDA exhibition which was held at Mumbai for to December He requested Naresh to present the Secretary s Report. Mr. Mr. Naresh readout the Secretary s Report covering the activities and Programme conducted by the Society during the term President asked the members if there were any queries regarding Gen. Secretary s report. The Secretary s Report was adopted without any specific comments from the members. The report was proposed by Mr. Yoganarasimha Mem.No. M 0003 and seconded by Mr. Sanjay Mem.No. LSI The President then requested Mr. P.R. Srinivasa, Treasurer to present the Audit Report for Mr. Srinivasa presented the Audit Report. There were no specific clarifications on the Audit report for The Auditor s report was proposed by Mr. Ramegowda Mem.No. LM 558 and seconded by Mr. Prem Varkey Mem. No. LM Mr. Seethapathy Rao said that as terms of present council was ending nominations were invited for various post of the Council. No fresh election was found necessary as the posts had been filled up after obtaining due consent of eligible members. He requested Mr. Naresh to announce the names. Mr. Naresh read out the names of the new council members for the term the following are nominated as members of the new council.

Mr. G Samson Arulraj M 1929 requested that the delegate fee in Technical Seminar for Senior Citizens should be affordable and to be reduced. Appointment of auditors. It was accepted by all the members to reappoint Mr. M Shankaranarayana of M/s M. Shankaranaraya & Associates as auditor for the term General: Mr. Naresh requested members to provide information for the International Fluid Power Summit at IFPE next March. He will be representing FPSI at this meet. Mr. Hemanth & Mr. Gururaj will take responsibility for making the slides. Mr. Naresh, General Secretary delivered the vote of thanks. President and Fellow s, As the General Secretary of the Fluid Power Society of India Bangalore, it is my privilege to present before this august General Body to-day (vide Notification Ref.:9004/5B/10 Dated: sent to all FPSI s and 2 nd notification Ref.:9005A/GB/20/10 Dated: ). 1. The record of activities conducted since the last General Body. 2. The statement of Accounts for the financial year (1 st April 2009 to 31 st March 2010) which will be presented by our Treasurer. Activities in & (upto 23 rd Dec 2010) Salient features The Society held 24 council meetings FPSI - MDA Event 2009 and 2010 Council Meetings FPSI Council held 24 council meetings in the above-mentioned period. The attendance at these meetings was good and the council members actively participated in the deliberations during these meetings. Fluid Power Journal Our quarterly issues "Fluid Power" Journal were brought out as usual. Articles published in these issues covered various topics of interest for the benefit and information of all our members spread across the country. To facilitate further improvement in the quality of the journal, a tie up with British Fluid Power association BFPA and Japanese Fluid Power Association was achieved during this period for exchange of technical articles for the journal. 2 articles from BFPA have also been published in the journal with courtesy to the original author. We request all the members to contribute technical articles for sharing of their knowledge and experience, which will benefit the Fluid Power community all over India. We solicit from all the members advertisements for their products / services

4 Report on FPSI MDA Hanover India Fairs Event 2009 and 2010 The third edition of MDA India - Fluid Power Society of India, CeMAT INDIA, IA INDIA and Energy INDIA were conducted at Bombay Exhibition centre Goregao Mumbai which from 10 th to 13 th December This year new concept was initiated by FPSI in place of the Technical Seminar. This was AUTOMATION KIOSK. This was a unique concept which had a brand neutral platform where member industries came together and gave training to participants on Automation concepts with live demo modules. This was a first in the world and was done with pre registrations for participation. We received nearly 280 pre-registrations and about 183 persons attended in the 4 days. The sessions were of 3 hours with 2 sessions everyday for 4 days. The feedback from the participants was very good. The participating cos were Festo Controls and Bosch Rexroth in The same show was repeated in 2010 event and we had 180 preregistrations and 135 persons attended the training.encouraged by the success of 2009 event M/s Janatics joined in The participating cos in 2010 were Festo, Rexroth and Janatics. The size of the Kiosk was increased to 100 sq mtrs up from 70 sq mtrs in Regarding the exhibition over 360 exhibitors showcased their latest technology on a display area spanning over 15,000 sqmtrs. The show attracted 7500 high caliber visitors. Out of which above 40 % was international participation from 20 countries. Taiwan Fluid Power Association (TFPA) and Japan Fluid power Association (JFPA) had organized a pavilion again this year in MDA INDIA. The 2010 MDA was held between 15 th to 18 th Dec 2010 at the same venue in Mumbai.The exhibition was still larger with over 350 exhibitors and about 10,000 visitors. CEO s Get-Together Organised by Fluid Power Society of India CEO s Get-Together was conducted on the 10 th Dec from am to 3.00 pm by a discussion over Lunch at Hall2D at BEC. The purpose of this event conducted was to provide a forum for CEOs of Fluid Power companies to get together for networking. CEO s from various organizations participated expressed their views and thanked Fluid Power Society of India for the excellent platform made to exchange their business and everybody suggested to hold these type of CEO s Get-Together every year. The format of the CEO meet was changed this year into conference type and with a stage.we had 2 guest speakers one from Rexroth and other from Festo. Both spoke on the change in technology trends in India. This format was attended by 27 persons representing organizations like Eaton,Hawe,EPE, Atos,Dynamatic,Parker,Sai, Festo,Rexroth,Janatics etc.

5 CEO Meet The CEO Meet 2010 was held concurrently with the MDA 2010 on the 15 th of Dec 2010 at Hall 2C at Bombay Exhibition center. This event was a grand success with over 45 persons registered and attended the event. This was again a conference set up with 2 guest speakers. The first was Mr.Shyam Kambeyanda Director Asia pacific, Hydraulics Eaton corp. He presented a paper on the market trends in the Asia Pacific region including Australasia which was neat with figures and facts which was very well accepted by the audience. The second paper was a technology paper from Mr.Daniel De Troy of Rexroth controls Germany. The paper was equally appreciated though it was more technical. The participants in the CEO meet included again cos like Eaton, Rexroth, Festo, Janatics, EPE filters, Hawe, Ferrocare m/cs, Dynamatic technologies,sai, Eckerle,Atos,Shavo Norgren, Hycom Engg,Veljan and Preac. The CEO meet pattern was again modified by introducing a panel discussion with 8 CEOs of different cos alongwith the President FPSI Mr.Seethapathy Rao. The panel discussed over 30 mins the current trends in the market and the different approaches each company undertook to tackle the markets. This was very well appreciated by all. Forthcoming FPSI MDA Hanover India Fairs Event 2011 The NEWS is that the third edition of the above shows will be held in Bangalore from 6 th to 9 th December 2011 at BIEC Bangalore. The concurrent shows are FPSI & MDA INDIA - International Trade Fair for Motion Drive and Automation INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION INDIA - International Trade Fair for Process and Production Automation and Industrial Building Automation ENERGY INDIA - International Trade Fair for Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution CeMAT INDIA - International Trade Fair for Materials Handling and Intralogistics. As a small service to the society I request you to please request your friends and collegues in the fluid power industries to become members of the society and join actively into the council activities. FPSI wishes to place on record its appreciation and gratitude to various Industrial member organization for the support and co-operation extended to FPSI by way of allowing their staff members to actively participate in the activities of the Society. I sincerely and profusely wish to thank each and every one of the following: the members of FPSI, the fluid power fraternity comprising the industrial member organizations, the entire council of FPSI, the auditors and most importantly to the Secretariat of the Society. Lastly I would like to inform that Mr.Jayakumar and Mr.Ravikumar who were earlier working with the Secrateriat have left us effective 30 th April. The new secrateriat comprises of Mrs.Elizabeth Catherine and Mr.Pramod. The contact nos remain the same. I thank you all for your valuable time and attention.
