Years of detailed preparation culminate in a trial that requires an ability to spontaneously react while remaining calm and keeping your eye on the big picture in the face of possibly lethal personal or business risk. Outdoor activities are an important part of what helps me better serve and relate to my clients their work in the fields of creativity, invention, and pushing boundaries means facing risk for great rewards.

4 AL WIEDMANN JR. I really enjoy technical climbing and trail running. Climbing in particular seems to resonate with my work as a patent lawyer in that both often involve solving a difficult puzzle. For me, whether it s a climb or a trail run, getting outside keeps my life and perspective more balanced, which I think helps me to meet my client s needs in a sensible and efficient manner. I ve traveled around the globe, including going on a safari in Tanzania, floating along the Ganges River in India, climbing the steps of the Great Wall of China, enjoying the cherry trees in Japan, and camping in the rainforests of Venezuela. These experiences keep me open minded, engage my creative side, and make me a better problem solver.
