Overall, an excellent evening! In looking ahead at 2019, we re striving for a good mix of interesting, compelling events with enough flexibility to fit into almost any schedule.

We had an excellent turn out, with some making a longish trip to be there, and several of our new applicants in attendance. We had a chance to catch up with those we haven t seen in a while. Overall, an excellent evening! In looking ahead at 2019, we re striving for a good mix of interesting, compelling events with enough flexibility to fit into almost any schedule. Fly-ins will range from one day for nearby destinations (Palm Springs Air Museum) to a four-day trip to Yellowstone National Park in September. Whether your available flying time is relatively limited (for example, by that full-time career thing called work or family obligations) or your time is your own, there are bound to be some events that work for you. I d like to ask for a volunteer for the upcoming year. Specifically, the position of fly-in chair is open. Not a lot of time is required, but the role is to keep an eye on planning, to see if anything is falling through the cracks, and keep information flowing where it needs to go. Your help would be very appreciated. To kick off the year, please join us in just a few weeks in Sedona, AZ for the first fly-in of the year! The desert scenery is spectacular, the winter weather is almost always very good, and best of all, it s known around the world as a cosmic energy vortex! One of our new applicants, Raghu Murthy and myself are planning a trip to the Palm Springs Air Museum on Sunday, February 24th, so please save that date. This museum is dedicated to the restoration, preservation and operation of America s legendary fighters, bombers and trainers...one of the world s largest collections of WWII airplanes. More details as we get closer. Incidentally, the first president of Airventurers, Al Weizer, was a docent there for many years before Flying West a few years ago. He has served 20 years on active duty and saw combat in Grenada, Somalia, Rwanda, Haiti and Bosnia. From , he was Military Aide to Bill Clinton, and was responsible for the Nuclear Football. We have 6 casitas reserved, so don t procrastinate. But be advised that if you cancel, it must be by March 9th. ON THE AGENDA There are a winery and restaurant right next door to our casitas we have a tour & tasting scheduled for 3:30 and dinner at 5:00, both no-host. On Sunday, we will try to arrange a tour of Sheri s Ranch and/ or a visit to Front Sight Firearms Training School. We plan to depart for home around 1:30 Approximate cost per cabin will be $150 ($ with a credit card), depending on the activities we can arrange.
