He is originally from Vancouver Canada and holds Masters of Business Administration Degrees from INSEAD (France) & Tsinghua Universities (Beijing, China). David has recently been appointed Country Head of Global Trade and Receivables Finance in HSBC Mexico where he will look to invest significantly in the business to meet the growing Trade, Supply Chain, Factoring and Guarantees needs of HSBC s diverse client base. David brings to the role his international experience in Wholesale banking including Trade & Receivables Finance, Product Management, Development of Academic Trade Finance programs, Operations, Risk Management, and Big Data Technology in Financial Crime Risk Management for International Trade. Prior to HSBC, David worked 10 years in Sales & Marketing in consumer goods as well as in the manufacturing sector in the Canadian forest industry. Now established in Mexico, David will join the International Chamber of Commerce as a Vice-President of the Banking Commission. Arnoldo López Marmolejo Chief Economist, Macroeconomic Analysis BBVA Arnoldo López is Principal Economist responsible for the macroeconomic analysis unit at BBVA Bancomer. Before joining BBVA Bancomer, Arnoldo was Financial Specialist at the Financial Stability Department in the Central Bank of México (Banxico), and visiting economist at the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He has been professor at Autonomous University of Barcelona, and has given lectures in academic conferences and central banks such as the Bank of England, Bank of France, Bank of Italy, Bank of Mexico, University of Barcelona, and University of Minnesota, among others. He obtained a bachelor degree in Economics at ITESM-Monterrey, a bachelor degree in Law at ITESM- TecMilenio, and a Master and PhD in Economics at Autonomous University of Barcelona. He has also been visiting researcher at the University of Pennsylvania, and Minnesota. He is author of several economic and financial papers published by the Bank of Italy, the IMF, Review of International Economics, El Trimestre Económico, among others.

Melodie Michel Deputy Editor Global Trade Review (GTR) Melodie Michel is the deputy editor of GTR magazine, the world's leading international trade finance magazine. She has extensive business journalism experience, covering GTR conferences as well as events organised by other industry bodies around the world. In her role, she regularly organises and chairs roundtables attended by senior trade finance representatives. C (CMM) Luis de la Calle is managing director and founding partner of De la Calle, Madrazo, Mancera, S.C. (CMM), a consulting firm specialized in economy, regulatory processes, and matters related to international trade. He also serves as President of Latin America for Hill + Knowlton Strategies. He served as Undersecretary of International Business Negotiations at the Ministry of Economy in Mexico. During his administration he headed Mexico s negotiations for bilateral trade agreements and regional multilateral negotiations in the World Trade Organization. Luis de la Calle also served as Minister of Trade Issues at the Mexican Embassy in Washington, D.C., a position from which he participated actively in the design, promotion, and implementation of the North American Free Trade Agreement, NAFTA. De la Calle worked at the World Bank as a country economist for the Czech and Slovak Republics, Poland, and the former Zaire. De la calle obtained his degree in Economy from the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de México, ITAM, Luis de la Calle completed his master s and doctoral studies at the University of Virginia. Doctor de la Calle has extensive teaching experience and is constantly present in the media through his biweekly column Que mas? published in El Universal newspaper, in addition to various collaborations and interviews. He is the co-author, along with Luis Rubio, of Clasemediero pobre no más, desarrollado aun no, a book that describes the middleclass in Mexico and its consolidation as an engine of development and political stability in the country. John Raines Deputy Head of Political Risk IHS John Raines currently serves as the Deputy Head of Political Risk with IHS, a global intelligence firm based in London. Prior to coming to IHS, he served as Deputy Manager of Political Risk with Exclusive Analysis for three years and conducted ongoing analysis of US and Canadian foreign and domestic policy. He has previous work experience with the US Department of State, where he held jobs responsible for conducting economic policy for the US Embassy in Panama and overseeing the American Citizen Services Unit in Hong Kong. He also worked at the World Bank, where he managed several projects in the production of the World Development Indicators (WDI). Other employment includes stints as a Presidential Management Fellowship with the US Treasury Department. John has master's degrees in international relations and political science from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and Ohio State University respectively, where he has taught courses and given lectures on US foreign policy.

5 Mauricio Muñoz Former Country Head of Global Trade & Receivables Finance, Mexico, Independent Adviser & External Instructor HSBC Mauricio Muñoz is an experienced banker who has worked 30 years in the financial sector in Mexico. He is an Industrial Engineer with two Masters Degrees, one in Management from Hult International Business School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and another Master of Science in Finance from Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts. Mauricio started his professional career in 1985 in Citibank Mexico where he spent 17 years and became the Head of Citibank s International Trade Unit, then, he worked 8 years for Banco Santander as Head of International Businesses, finally he has worked the last 5 years in HSBC Mexico in the Global Trade and Receivables Finance area where he was the Country Head. He has always worked in International Banking with specialization in; Trade Finance and Trade Services, Recourse and Non-recourse Factoring, Supply Chain Finance, Guarantees and Surety Bonds (Fianzas), and Financial Crime Compliance. Mauricio Muñoz will retire by the end of this year, going forward he will be an independent consultant and external instructor for HSBC and other financial institutions, companies, and government entities in Mexico. He will continue as Vice-President of the Banking Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce (Mexico Chapter), and as Academic at Anahuac University in Mexico City.

He has led Pemex s award winning US Ex Im Bank backed bond issuance program for an aggregate amount of over 3 billion dollars. Alfonso s career at Pemex started in the year 2000 as analyst in the Trade Finance area. Since then, he has been involved in several different aspects of Pemex s financing, most recently as an advisor to the Treasurer. Previously, Alfonso worked as a member of the President of Mexico s economic and social policy advisors. Mr. Laris has more than 20 years of experience in the financial sector, mainly in export and trade finance. He worked at the Financial Guarantees Department of Bancomext (Mexican National Bank for Foreign Trade) where he developed most of the current guarantees programs offered by the development bank system in Mexico. In addition, Mr. Laris jointly leaded the team that created the first private credit insurance facility in Mexico, Seguros Bancomext, where he functioned as CFO for more than 8 years. During the past few years, Mr. Laris has created and developed several small and medium financial companies (SOFOMes) with great success. Before joining Atradius, he spent more than 10 years in Mexico with ABN AMRO Bank, first as Representative and since July 1995 as President and CEO. He started his career with ABN AMRO in 1982 in Amsterdam and from 1983 to 1989 occupied various managerial functions in Operations, Consumer Banking, Finance, ITS and Credit Administration in its branches in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Montevideo, Uruguay. Since April of 1989, he acted as its Director of Corporate Banking in Los Angeles, USA, until he arrived in Mexico in Karel has served as President of the Association of Foreign Financial Institutions in Mexico (AIFI) and as President of the Latin American Association of Trade Credit Insurers (Alasece). He has also formed part of the boards of different organizations like the Mexican Bankers Association (ABM), the Consejo Coordinador Empresarial (CCE), the Mexican Association of Insurance Institutions (AMIS), the Mexican Institute of Finance Executives (IMEF) and several private companies. Karel was born on May 6, 1958 and holds a Master s Degree in Law from Erasmus University in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

13 Bart Pattyn CEO & President, Latin America Coface Coface is one of the largest integrated AA- rated Credit Insurance company, and leader in emerging markets. The group is present in 68 countries, and is quoted on the Paris stock exchange. Bart A. Pattyn has joined the Coface Group in September 2000 to head the Group s Regional Office in Singapore, with responsibility for the group s various product lines and for strategy and acquisitions in South Asia Pacific. Since January 2004, Bart is President & CEO of Coface Latin America, based in México. He is President or Chairman of the board of the Coface entities in 10 countries in the region, of which 7 insurance companies..
