2 Shelby County s nonprofit arts sector drives $200 MILLION in annual spending. Sustains the equivalent of 6,000+ full-time local jobs. Generates $22.4 MILLION in local and state government revenue annually. Represents Shelby County s 2ND LARGEST attraction. Engages more than 2.5 MILLION attendees each year.
3 In 2018 ArtsMemphis provided $2.4 Million to 66 organizations and 8 artists through 160 grants. Project Grants: 9% Grants to Artists: 1% Donor Designated Grants: 30% Unrestricted support to arts groups: 49% Endowment funds held for arts organizations: 11% ARTSMEMPHIS GRANTEES Provided over 2.5 MILLION art experiences in Shelby County. Offered more than 700,000 art experiences for youth in Shelby County. Engaged nearly 5,000 artists. ArtsMemphis distributed over 2,750 ArtsAccess cards for families to receive free tickets to arts events, eliminating financial barriers to experiencing the arts thanks to 20+ arts groups.
