7 The first thing you have to understand is how Amazon s trade-in program works. This program lets you trade in different types of items such as: Textbooks Electronics Video games DVDs You can make more money from trading these items in, and you can send them in with free shipping and receive your money as soon as Amazon receives your product. It gets even better than that. Once they vet you and know that you are going to send in your items, they will actually pay you immediately. You can trade in any of the types of items shown in the screenshot above, but for this lesson, you re going to learn how to use this system to trade in textbooks. Let s start by looking over a few specific examples. Look at the screenshot below. This textbook is titled The Art of Public Speaking, and the author s name is Stephen Lucas.

8 There are two different things that you need to pay attention to when you see a listing such as this. First of all, you ll see a used & new price. In this example, the book costs $ Now, over on the right side of the screen, you ll find that the page says, Trade in yours for an Amazon Gift Card up to $ So, you can already see that there is profit to be made. You will be paid in gift cards, but there is a way that you can turn those gift cards into cash. An accountant did not initially offer this training, so you may want to seek the advice of a professional, but it has been said that there are tax advantages to getting paid via gift card initially. The important thing to take note of here is that you can buy this book for $44.55 and then trade it back in for $ That would mean a profit of $ That s almost $30.00 that you can make on one book. Again, that s simply for buying it, receiving it, and sending it right back to Amazon on their dime. How awesome is that? Often, you ll find that there s more than one book of the same title that you can trade in. In fact, there may even five or more of them that you can snag up and trade in for a quick multiplication of profits. There are, of course, hundreds of thousands of textbooks on Amazon at any given time. Plus, you can do this year-round, and at certain times of year, you ll find that there are some crazy deals to be had. Also, take note that you can buy from sites outside of Amazon as well. Amazon doesn t care how you get the book. You don t have to buy it from Amazon.com or an Amazon 3 rd -party seller. You can get the book from a local bookstore, for instance. It doesn t

9 matter where you got the book, as long as it meets Amazon s criteria, you can send it in and resell it. There are tons and tons of textbook marketplaces out there where you can find a book, send it into Amazon, and cash in the difference. So, this is a vast amount of opportunity and the potential to make profits is huge. Another great aspect of doing this is that there is very little risk involved in using this method, if there is any at all. Let s say, for example, that you bought a book from a third-party seller, but when you finally receive it, it s the wrong one. If this happens, you can just return it through Amazon and get a refund. What if you buy a book and it doesn t meet Amazon s criteria for accepting it for some reason? That s all on their dime. You send it to them on their dime, and they return it on their dime, and then you just get a refund from the seller. There s no risk at all. You re not purchasing these books and then just hoping someone will buy it. You don t have to wait for someone else to buy it. Amazon s buying it from you instantly. You don t have to wait and hope that the book sells or speculate on whether or not things are going to turn out right. You don t have to worry about it. You just trade the book in and get paid. As a matter of fact, it s possible to get paid before Amazon even gets the book. Amazon is just facilitating the transaction here, and they love this because they re making money.

10 How to Earn Six Figures with Book Arbitrage Remember, in this lesson, the goal is to get to where you can generate $100,000 a year with this system. It would be great if you were to be able to make more than that, of course, but starting out, let s think about what it would take to hit this initial goal. In order to make $100,000 a year, you would need to generate an average of $275 a day. How easy can this be? Let s take a look. In the screenshot above, you can see that the word textbook has been typed into the search bar. You can do this manually, but Luke and his team actually use software to do this more efficiently. This is simply a browser extension that they created to take this system to the next level. It weeds out the books that wouldn t work for this method, and it does some math to narrow down which books are the most profitable. So, instead of spending hours and hours combing through hundreds of page and thousands of books, they just click the button and the software brings up results. As you can see in the screenshot, the tool has returned a page of results, and up at the top, it says that the total net profit opportunity for the page is $ Now, take note that this is just the potential profit. One of these books may be missing a cover or something, so it wouldn t meet Amazon s criteria for accepting the book. Still, the goal is to make a six-figure income by bringing in at least $275 a day. Well, just on this first page of results, you have the

11 potential to bring in $ So, if all of these books were able to be resold, you would have already met the income goal with just one click. You may also notice that within the results, the software has calculated a Net Profit After Trade-In for each book. Obviously, this is going to save you a lot of time. The listing says that the book is being sold for $12.06, and the trade-in value is around $37. That doesn t come out to $116.17, so how does the software come up with this number. The reason that number is so high is because there is more than one book of this title to be sold. If you click on used & new, you can see what s being offered on the site. The extension even works on this page as well, as you can see in the screenshot below. The software tells you exactly how much you would make on trading in each individual book as well as a total for if you were to buy and trade them all. Again, the software weeds out all of the books that aren t profitable as well, so this is a very simple and easy process. You also have to remember that some of these books won t qualify, and if you find that they don t, you can just remove it from the list. You ll learn more about what qualifies and what doesn t, but keep in mind that even if all of the books don t qualify, you only have to make $275 a day to reach that six-figure a year goal, and you re already well on your way with just one listing.

12 The very first book doesn t have a cover, so it wouldn t be able to be resold to Amazon. Therefore, you would want to remove it from the list, which you can do quickly by hitting the Remove button over on the left-hand side. Once you remove a book from the results, the software recalculates the total for potential profits up at the top of the page. Another button that the software provides is labeled Check on BookScouter. This is another service that allows you to check for textbooks that are available at great rates online. Again, you don t have to settle for only what you find on Amazon; you can buy from other places. This button gives you the ability to search a lot of other 3 rd -party marketplaces at once, and the plug-in works on BookScouter too! When you reach BookScouter, you will see a list of books that are available for purchase. Keep in mind that some of the books listed are only available to be rented, and some of them aren t in the best of shape. Some of the ones listed won t even be the same book. If you re using the software, however, you can just click the extension and the tool will weed out the books that won t work. When Luke clicked on this button during his presentation, the tool returned a new list of opportunities and stated that the potential opportunity for profits from that list was $ This is demonstrated in the screenshot below.

13 You may also notice that a lot of the books listed come from Amazon. If you want to remove these from the list, simply click on the X symbol next to each book you don t want listed. As you do so, the potential amount will recalculate, giving you a true assessment of what you could possibly make by selling the books still included on the list. After Luke removed all of the Amazon books listed, he found that he could make an extra $70 from the books that he found in BookScouter, and that s on top of what he could make with the ones he could find on Amazon. It s pretty insane that you could almost meet your daily goal with just one textbook. Searching with the tool makes this possible because otherwise, you would have to spend hours searching to meet this extensive of a goal. Keep in mind, however, that you can still make extra money without the software; you just wouldn t be able to do so near as quickly or easily. Another aspect of this case study to take note of is that these were the results Luke was able to get with just the first book that came up. There are hundreds of thousands of books on Amazon. What would happen if he dug down a bit deeper? Luke went on to look at the next page of the results from his Amazon search, and this time, he found that he could potentially make $ off the books listed there. It s not always Amazon that s going to give you the most in profits. There was one book listed on the second page of his Amazon results that would only yield about $42 in profits. But, when Luke clicked to check it out in BookScouter, he found that he had the potential to make $ in profits off of that same book. The results of this search are shown below.

14 All you re doing is buying textbooks from a 3 rd -party bookseller, either off of or on Amazon, and then you simply trade it in on Amazon s website for a higher profit. The software extension being shown just shows you how you can do this faster and easier making it possible for you to generate massive amounts of profits each day. Again, Amazon will pay you with a gift card, but you can turn this into cash. There s a way to do that, which you will be shown further on in the training. Hopefully, you can see how easy this is. This gets even better, if you believe that or not. You may not want to process the books. It doesn t take much effort to get a book in the mail and make sure everything is right with it before printing a label and sending it back in to Amazon, but you might not want to be bothered with this. Also, you can use this method no matter where you re at in the world, but maybe you don t want to pay for having the books shipped to you if you live outside of the US. That s okay because there s a solution to all of these types of problems, and that is to outsource the work. Of course, you could hire a contractor on your own. If you really want this to be a completely hands-off business model, then you can outsource the purchasing of the books as well. After all, the software does most of the work for you. There are some things that you ll need to understand about what Amazon will accept, but it would be easy to train someone on what to look for. If you wanted to make this a completely hands-off, passive income stream, you could simply: Have an outsourcer buy your books Books ship directly to processing center Processing center receives, processes, and ships You count your money! How cool is that? This isn t rocket science, and even if you wanted to do it all yourself, it wouldn t be that difficult. You can be completely involved, partially involved, or you can remove yourself from the process altogether. It wouldn t be hard at all to train someone to do this for you.
