It is the end of a battle. / (Shooting off last rounds) Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh! Hold your fire!! Stop! They re dead. They re all dead. It s finished. Put your gun down! Jeez! Are you sure? Are they all dead? (Shoots a few more rounds off) Yeah, they are now. We killed the whole gang. Yeah, we killed the whole gang. So, that means we win. We ve won the war. Yeah,, we ve won the war, for now. is going to be so happy. 2

2 Eh? The Boss,, he s going to be so happy with us. We ve won the war for him. You and me, we ve killed them all, and now will be the Boss of all the gangs, and he s going to be so happy with you and me! I wonder what he ll give us. Money, promotion, maybe a girl! Yeah, maybe Scene 2 Warehouse. Voyant enters. She says that beth will be made a general and then Boss, and that Banquo s son will become Boss, too. A drum, a drum, beth does come. Sure. Thanks. (Taking a jelly baby out of the bag she has offered him) What s your name, honey?. Voyant. Get out of here, Voyant, this is no place for a woman. Oh, don t be like that,. Do I know you? What about your place? Why don t we all go over to your restaurant tonight and get that sweet little wife of yours to cook us some of that great pasta bolognese that she does so well? Yeah, sure. They drink a lot. beth begins to think twice about killing. convinces him to do it. goes to bed to sleep. beth kills. duff comes in and discovers dead. beth declares himself Boss.! Boss! My favourite lady! Except for my wife, of course, and my girlfriend! Come here and give your Boss a kiss. Welcome to our home. Welcome to our restaurant. I ve prepared your favourite; meatballs with spicy sauce and home made tortellini. What a dame! You know, you re very lucky to have her,. There are a lot of men that would take her from you, if they could! Sit, sit!, get the beers., the beers! (He gets the drinks) told me about the battle! Yeah, what a battle! These two boys did well, really well. Yeah,, we killed them all, just me and! Right,? It was great. There was this one guy, he was on the floor, he had a bullet in his leg, he was begging for his life. Don t kill me! Don t kill me! I ll do anything, he was saying, and do you know what did?
