1 Rule #1 When responding to an adult, you must answer by saying Yes, ma am or No, sir. Just nodding your head or saying any other form of Yes or No is not acceptable. Rule #2 Make eye contact. When someone is speaking, keep your eyes on them the whole time. If someone makes a comment, turn and face that person.
2 Rule #3 If someone in the class wins a game or does something well, we will congratulate that person. Rule #4 During discussions, respect other students comments, opinions, and ideas.
3 Rule #5 When you cough or sneeze or burp, turn your head away from others and cover your mouth with your arm. Rule #6 Always say thank you when I give you something. If you do not say it within 3 seconds after receiving the item, I will take it back. There is no excuse for not showing appreciation.
4 Rule #7 At times throughout the year, I will give rewards. If you ever ask for a reward, it will not be given. It is rude to ask if you are getting something for good behavior. Rule #8 While you are with a substitute teacher, you will obey the same rules that you follow when I am with you. You should have good behavior because you are trying to be a better person.
5 Rule #9 Keep the bathrooms clean by using them appropriately, flushing the toilet, and using hand sanitizer. If there is no hand sanitizer, wash your hands at the sink. Rule #10 Do not save seats. If someone wants to sit down, let him or her. Do not try to exclude anyone.
6 Rule #11 After we eat, we will clean up after ourselves. This includes cleaning off the tables and not leaving any trash on the floor. Rule #12 If someone drops something, pick it up and hand it back to them. Be responsible for your trash, no matter where you are.
7 Rule #13 If someone bumps into you, even if it is not your fault, say Excuse me. Rule #14 During an assembly, do not speak and do not look around to try to get the attention of your friends. We must set the example for the rest of the school.
8 Rule #15 If any child in this school is bothering you, let me know about it. I will not let anyone bully you. I will take care of the situation. Rule #16 No matter what the circumstances, always be honest. Even if you have done something wrong, it is best to admit it to me, becaue I will respect that. Sometimes I may forget your punishment because of your honesty.
9 Rule #17 If you win or do well at something, do not brag. If you lose, do not show anger. Rule #18 If you are asked a question in conversation, you should ask a question in return.
10 Rule #19 When you are given something from someone, never insult that person by making a negative comment about the gift. Rule #20 When walking in a line, walk single file, two to three feet behind the person in front of you with your arms at your sides. You should face forward at all times. There will be absolutely no talking!
11 Rule #21 Never cut in line. If someone cuts in front of you, do not say anything about it. Let it happen, but let me know about it. I will handle the situation. Rule #22 You will make every effort to be as organized as possible. If you argue with someone who cuts in line, you will be in trouble as well.
12 Rule #23 We will follow certain classroom protocols in order to be efficient and on task. * Do not get out of your seat without permission. * Do not speak unless you raise your hand and I call on you, I asked you a question, or it is recess. Rule #24 When you are offered food, take only your fair share. You never want to be greedy and take more than you should.
13 Rule #25 When we ride the bus, we will always face forward. We will never turn around and talk to the person behind us, stick anything out a window, or get out of our seat. Rule #26 Hold the door open for others. Do not let it shut in their face. We will always thank our bus driver when we exit the bus.
14 Rule #27 Surprise others by performing random acts of kindness. Rule #28 Do not smack your lips, tsk, roll your eyes, or show disrespect with gestures.
15 Rule #29 If I or any other teacher in the school is disciplining a student, do not look at that person. You wouldn t want others to look at you if you were in trouble, so don t do the same. Rule #30 Know that you are going to make mistakes. Learn from them and move on.
16 Rule #31 Be the best person that you can be. Rule #32 When we read together in class, you must follow along. If I call on you to read, you must know exactly where we are and begin reading immediately.
17 Rule #33 Homework will be turned in each day that it is assigned by every student with no exceptions. Rule #34 When we are in transition from one subject to another, the change will be fast, quiet, and orderly.
18 Rule #35 Answer all written questions with a complete sentence. In conversation, it is important to use complete sentences. Rule #36 When I assign homework, there is to be no moaning or complaining. This will result in a doubled assignment.
19 Rule #37 Learn the names of all the teachers in the school and greet them by name. (If you are in line with the class, you may not speak to another teacher because the no-talking rule is in effect.) Rule #38 When we are on a field trip, there will be no talking as we enter the building. We will enter so quietly that no one will even notice we are there.
20 Rule #39 When we are on a field trip, always say something nice about the place we are visiting. Do not make negative comments. Rule #40 When grading a paper in class, the only mark you are allowed to make is an X on an incorrect answer.
21 Rule #41 Be positive and enjoy life. Some things aren t worth getting upset over. Keep everything in perspective and focus on the good in your life. Rule #42 Carpe Diem, seize the day. Life is made up of special moments. Get the most out of each and every day.
22 Rule #43 Stand up for what you believe in. You shouldn t take no for an answer if you believe you can do something. Rule #44 Live so that you have no regrets. If there is something you want to do, do it! Never let fear or doubt stand in your way. If there is something you want to do, don t stop until you make it happen.
