BIOGRAPHY I am a 43 year old mother of 3 teenage boys and I ve been a crazy Elvis fan since I was about 5 years old. I grew up in Seymour, WI where I graduated from Seymour High School in I was raised on a dairy farm and I am the youngest of 10 children. My parents worked very hard to provide for us. They taught me many valuable lessons; the most important was to live my life with Integrity. Mom and Dad both lived every day of their lives, in every facet of their lives, with pure integrity. They always put other people before themselves, even giving some a place to stay. We never had a lot of money, but our family was the richest family I know because there was always love. I started writing poems when I was in High School but stopped when I moved to California in I lived there for 3 years and when I moved back home I got married and had children, making it hard to continue writing poems. After taking 24 years off, I started writing poems again in October of While my son was in the hospital, I wrote him a poem, which sparked my interest in writing again. In only 4 months I wrote 30 more poems. All of my poems are personal and inspired by what was going on in my life or those around me at the time. Writing poems is like therapy for me. I want to thank, most of all, my Mom for always believing in me and supporting me in everything I do. She was my best friend. As she watches me from Heaven, I know that she is proud of me. I love you and miss you Mom. Second I would like to thank God for guiding me through the good and the bad times in my life. I would also like to thank my Dad, sisters, brothers, all extended family, and friends that have supported me and
encouraged me to continue writing. They have read many of my poems and always had something nice to say about them. Thank you everyone for your patience when I asked for your opinion. I couldn t have written this book without the help from my entire circle of family and friends. The name of my book comes from a long standing joke in my family. Being the youngest of 10 children, I was teased a lot. They told me I was adopted which really bothered me until I became an adult and realized that if I was adopted (which I wasn t), then I was chosen. That is when I started saying that I was their FAYEvorite and Faye was just a nickname. After all, they did stop having children after me, which means they finally had their FAYEvorite child. That became my way of spelling favorite and I have been using it for over 20 years now. Some may use teasing as an excuse and complain about it; I chose to learn from my experience and help children who really were in need of a good home. Fostering and ultimately adopting two children put a positive spin on a childhood joke. My first child, Quentin Elvis, is my biological child, the second child, Christopher Presley, was adopted when he was 4 years old and is only 4 months younger than Quentin, and the third child, Deante Aaron, was adopted when he was 6 years old. All of my children were chosen by God. I hope you enjoy my poems. Hugs & Love, FAYEvorite
FAYEvorite Poems
This is the first poem I wrote. I was 15 years old. LOVE How can it be Such an encouraging thing When all you can see Is one big wing It flies in Then it flies out It makes you grin Then it makes you pout!
A DAY A day of being sad A week of being happy Two days of being mad And after that I feel quite crappy A day of feeling really good It s nice to feel that way It makes me think it should Last for every day So take the chance and roll the dice And hope for mostly peace That will make for a great life With a whole new lease! A FRIEND A friend is a person who grows and shares And shows how much they really care They re with you through all of your years And share in your laughter, joy and tears They help you with their loving care So that you will know that they are there Now my friend you shall see What a friend should really be!
A WISH COME TRUE Of all my wishes It has come true That wonderful wish Of being loved by you You ve shown me happiness Far beyond end Since we ve become more Than just good friends When I gaze into your eyes And see them glisten I just sit quiet And let my heart listen Because sometimes your look Is all it takes To make my heart flutter And my hands shake So when others say it s useless To wish on a star Now I can tell them How wrong they are!
ABUSE I am coming home from school Knowing that I broke a rule And it always gets much worse So I m crying because it always hurts I can see my daddy standing there Looking at me with a stare And in his hand there is a belt So I know that it will leave a welt When I got home he let out a scream While I stood wishing it was just a dream Then he hit me so very hard That I flew back into the yard I m lying there feeling like a mouse While he turns and walks into the house People just act like they don t see What this abuse is doing to me My mommy acts as if I have no needs Even though she s looking at me I wish I didn t have to go in Because I am so afraid of him Help me God to lose these fears So I can stop these awful tears I need you God to stop the pain So I will never hurt again I am just a little girl Living in an awful world Dear God please take me home with you Because I know that s what you do!
ALL YOU NEED IS TIME I was with you only once And once you were with me But in that time you were just mine And it just seemed meant to be I really liked you then a lot It seemed you liked me too But when I found you weren t around I just gave up on you I see you now from time to time And I d like to just say HI But then I find deep in my mind We never said GOOD-BYE How come our time was cut so short Why did it have to end I wonder now perhaps somehow You could just be my friend I d love to have you as a friend And talk to you each day You d make me smile and laugh awhile I wish it were that way You haven t forgotten me I see When your eyes meet with mine The feelings there I know you care But all you need is time!
ALWAYS & FOREVER LOVE Every single day You take my breath away Because of something you have done And that makes you number one I have to tell you dear That when you are not here My heart will ache for you Because of all you do Just being you Always helps me through Whatever comes my way Each and every day So thank you very much For your very gentle touch You really spoil me And that I sure do see You are my one and only love Sent to me from up above Now all my dreams are coming true And that s all because of you! MY ALWAYS AND FOREVER LOVE!
