And remember that this world not only includes speaking from the stage, but also includes new digital training opportunities offered by webinars and online video. Now let me get one thing clear. I am not talking about getting keynote engagements where you simply get paid for giving a talk. I am talking about getting the opportunity to speak infront of a room, talk about a topic and seizing the chance to sell your product afterwards. Examples of the industry s best Profit Speakers include Tony Robbins, Robert Kyosaki, Bob Proctor, Dr Demartini, and many more. You see, the biggest mistake a speaker can make is to saturate their audience with content. As a Profit Speaker your job is to let people see the opportunities your time and wisdom offers so that they want more access to you and the knowledge you can share. But only when they invest should you share more of your time and wisdom. Tip: If people are telling you that they really enjoyed your talk but they re not buying your product, it means that you re putting too much content in your talks! You must give them enough value so that they want more and you must give them a pathway (also known as an ascension model) to get access to you. The higher up they go (and are willing to pay) the more time and wisdom they get from you. 4

5 Embarking on your journey Chances are that you re the kind of person who recognises the value and importance of life-long learning. You may have attended talks and seminars. You may have invested in self-development or business-development products. These experiences will be invaluable as you embark on your own journey delivering knowledge and valuable insight to others. 1 Some Important Questions to Ask Yourself Step 1 As you take your first steps to the world of elite training there are questions you must ask: 1) Who inspires you? Who do you love listening to? What books are you reading? What seminars do you like attending? What message do they carry? How do you feel during and afterwards? What are people hoping for and what are the results they get from it? What INSPIRES YOU? 2) What s your message? Imagine, if you could send a message in a bottle to the world - what would it say? 3) Who will you become as you do this? Do you see yourself on the international speaking circuit or perhaps you simply want to speak as the expert at the next convention or company gathering? Set your personal goals. 4) What impact do you want to leave on the world? Do you have a higher cause? I hope so - because if you want to be successful, it can t be just about the money. In your heart should be an authentic and honest calling to help others. 5

6 Setting Yourself Up With Opportunities Step 2 2nce O you ve established the cornerstones of your new career: your inspiration, your message and your goals, you must put together your proposition and get yourself out there. 1) Come up with 3 talks, each with a title, a paragraph description and 3 bullet take-aways. For example: 2) Get a professional headshot of yourself. This boosts your credibility and image. 3) Write your own biography. And don t be shy! 4) Put your biography, your photo and your 3 talk outlines together in a media kit. 5) Make a list of all the places that bring in speakers in. Tip: Google networking events, business conferences, chamber of commerce meetings, classes, conventions etc. 6) Identify the Key Decision Makers of each group. 7) Call the Decision Makers and tell them that you d like to discuss giving a presentation to their group. Essentially you want to share with them the 3 talks you could provide and have them pick one. Tip: Tell them about all 3 talks, yet emphasise the one that is being most well received by other groups - the one that you are most comfortable to give. (We go into this in greater detail our Industry Rockstar Trainer Course). 6 8) If you can t convince the Decision Maker by phone, then look at how you could attend their event and meet them in person. Tip: Stop attending networking events to meet the people in them. Start attending them to meet the people who put them on. 9) If you are getting no ground on this, ask your friends or people you know who put together groups if you could be a speaker. Ask for referrals. 10) Once a Decision Maker agrees to engage you, ask them to agree to a time and location. Send them your media kit and suggest that they use the copy (the words) from your media kit to promote the talk. This is exactly how Kane and I started. We came up with some interesting talks and we got on the phone and started booking ourselves on stages of people. We knew that if we just had a chance to get infront of people we could offer them more value in a product of some sort. Get this far and you re well on your way to a lucrative career as a trainer in your industry!

7 3 Step 3 What you re worth and offering them more How to package and position yourself Understanding how to package and position yourself, and identifying the flow and range of products that you have to offer, is key in this business. What you offer can be written information products, it can be access to a set of video or audio products, or it can be your professional consulting service. Here comes the math You need to create a product to sell on stage between $497 $3497. Top Speakers selling product from the stage earn about $300 a person from a 90-minute talk depending on the price point of the product they sell. That means that with 100 people in the room they could make $30,000. Numbers vary dependent on skill sets. To work out this figure take the total amount of revenue generated in the room and divide it by the number of people. (We dive deeper into this and how to structure products in our Industry Rockstar Intensive and Rockstar Trainer Course). Why am I telling you this? Because I want you to have the bar - so you know what to play for. You must also understand that when people invest in your programs or services they are investing in spending more time with you. This allows you to serve them better and help them get better results. Here is another scenario that is even more lucrative. If you have all day with people who have paid money to hear you speak, then you could make between $900 - $1500 a person for your products. This could make you $150,000 if a room is full of 100 people! Then imagine you have 2-3 days with a room full of people who ve paid over $1000 to be there. The top performers are making about $2,000 to $3500 per head from their products. This means that in a 3-day training you could be making $350,000!! Now I know this sounds extreme but you need to understand the possibilities!! 7

8 4 Step 4 Don t Forget The Promoter If you have someone who put the butts in the seats for you they usually take 50% of the products or services you sell. You see, half the work is putting the butts in the seats! Enjoy the benefits! This business is one of the fastest ways to grow your lead list, client base and your wealth. Even if you don t want be doing this full time and you just want some extra consulting clients or you just want to be positioned more at the top of your game it s a great game to be in. Assuming you do choose to embark on this journey please remember there is so much more you can do on your travels. Imagine for every room you speak in you could be raising money for charity - you could be donating hundreds of thousands of dollars or even millions a year!
