Won t Let Go Here 25 GROUPS: Creating a safe place to connect. WHAT YOU DO 1. Go to myfreedom.org/kidsleaders to do the following: 1. Read through K-5th large group leader guide several times throughout the week to familiarize yourself with what to say, how long it should take, and the order of activities. 2. Watch the Bible story video. 3. Preview the worship songs and get familiar with the motions for this weekend. 2. Follow up with your campus lead with any questions about the weekend! 3. Arrive on time to tag in briefly with the team, gather your materials, and connect with early arrivers. 4. Teach kids about God s Word with energy! WHAT YOU NEED (provided for you) -Bible (bring your own) -set of instrument cards (1 per group) -toy microphone -picture of ballet shoes -pen -picture of laughing emoji -paint brush -balloons

2 CUE: Play high energy music as kids enter and Freedom Kids Logo (#1). CUE: FK countdown (#2) 5 UTES BEFORE THE GATHERING BEGINS. (New Countdown) OPENER When the 5 minute countdown gets down to 1 minute, have the kids start to make their way to large group. Host is at the front welcoming them. Lead kids in big countdown from 10 seconds! CUE: More or Less Graphic (#3) Hello, hello! Welcome to Freedom Kids! It s so good to see your smiling faces. I love it when we hang out here at Freedom Kids. We have more fun when we re together. We learn more about God when we re together.we can even find out how we can make a difference together. That s what cooperation is all about! CUE: Cooperation Def n (#4). Cooperation is working together to do more than you can do alone. Today you are going to get to work together with your group to build a band. Or should I say to build the CORRECT band. Each group gets a set of these instrument cards. Hand out a set of the Instrument Cards to each Small Group Leader. (If you have a lot of groups, you can get the Worship Leaders to help distribute the cards.) We ll play the sounds of 10 different instruments. Your job is to decide, as a group, which instruments you re hearing. Keep your cards in order so if you hear a trumpet first, then the first card in your stack should be a trumpet. Make sense? You might not be familiar with all these instruments, so you may have to guess. Just do your best and work together! We ll reveal all the answers at the end. GAME Guess The Instrument Let s start with instrument number one. Play all 10 instruments back to back. After each sound is played, give kids a second to decide which instrument card matches the sound and have them lay it face down in the center of their group. Groups should stack another card on top of their pile after each sound. The stack of cards will be how they remember their answers for each sound. CUE #5: Kazoo (1) CUE #6: Bassoon (2) CUE #7: Sitar (3) CUE #8: Didgeridoo (4) CUE #9: Keytar (5) CUE #10: Glockenspiel (6) CUE #11: Sousaphone (7) CUE #12: Hurdy-gurdy (8) CUE #13: Melodica (9) CUE #14: Ocarina (10) Those were tough, huh? Let s see how you did. Leaders, keep track of how many you got right, okay? Go through all 10 answers. Instrument number one was... a kazoo! Continue through all 10 instruments above.

3 WORSHIP LEADER: Music makes us all come together. I love this time where we cooperate to sing God s praises together. Get on your feet, and everybody get ready to sing with all you ve got! CUE: Song 1 (#15) CUE: Song 2 (#16) LEADER: Let s all stretch our hands out wide and pray in 3, 2, 1! (Clasp hands together.) Dear God, thank you for this wonderful day in Freedom Kids! We give our time and all of our attention on your today to hear what you want to say. We love you! In Jesus name, Amen. Wow! You guys sound wonderful today. Find as many people as you can, give them a high five, and answer this question: Would you rather eat a whole turkey or drink a gallon of gravy? Ready, set, Go! CUE: 1 minute countdown (#17). If you ve been here this month, you know what a huge difference we can make when we cooperate. Our friend Paul from the Bibles had something to say about that. He wrote a letter that s included in the New Testament of the Bible, called 1 Corinthians. (Hold up Bible.) Many people who lived in this town called Corinth had decided to believe in Jesus and these new believers in Jesus came from lots of different backgrounds. Paul wanted them to see how God had given them lots of different gifts for a very important reason. You see, this is what s so cool about being part of the church. When you decide to put your faith in Jesus and live His way, you become part of something much bigger than yourself. You become part of one body. You are unique totally different from any one else. That s the way God made you. And God knows that each of you plays an important part in what we can do together. Check out what Paul wrote. Open the Bible to 1 Corinthians 12:12, 18, 27 (NIrV) and read. There is one body, but it has many parts.... It is the same with Christ.... God has placed each part in the body just as he wanted it to be.... You are the body of Christ. Each one of you is part of it (NIrV).

4 Together, we re part of one body. It isn t about what one person can do alone. It s about what all of us can do together! WHAT ARE YOU GOOD AT? So I ve got a question for YOU. What do you think you re good at? (Pause.) It could be anything. You could be good at sports or music. You could be good at drawing. You could be a good listener. You could be a good encourager. Trust me, each one of you is SO special. God made you who you are on purpose. You matter to Him. He created you with so many gifts so that you could fill his purpose and you ll discover more and more as you grow! Raise your hand if anyone has ever told you you re good at singing. (Pause for response.) Pick a kid with his/her hand raised and bring them on stage. Hand him the toy microphone. Hold up the picture of ballet shoes. Raise your hand if you like to dance! (Pause for response.) Pick a kid with her hand raised and bring her on stage. Hand her the ballet shoes picture. Hold up the pen. Raise your hand if you like to write stories. (Pause for response.) Pick a kid with her hand raised and bring her on stage. Hand her the pen. WHAT ARE OTHERS GOOD AT? Now let s think about some gifts that the people around you might have. Hold up the laughing emoji pillow (or printed sign). Raise your hand if there s someone in your group who s super funny someone who loves to tell jokes. Show me who it is. (Pause for response.) Pick a kid who s being identified and bring him on stage. Hand him the laughing emoji picture. Hold up the paint brush. Raise your hand if one of your friends in here is a good artist. (Pause for response.) Pick a kid who s being identified and bring her on stage. Hand her the paint brush. Hold up the balloons. Raise your hand if there s someone in your group who makes you feel happy someone who has a great attitude and always brightens your day. Pick a kid who s being identified and bring her on stage. Hand her the balloons. Then point to the kids on stage. Look at this! Look at all these amazing friends with amazing gifts. I know ALL of you in this this room have really important gifts, too. They might be the same as these, or they might be different. The question is: how do we use them? How can we use our gifts to make a difference together?

5 HOW COULD YOU WORK TOGETHER? Remember what Paul said: (Hold up Bible.) There is one body, but it has many parts (1 Corinthians 12:12 NIrV). All of us who believe in Jesus are part of HIS body. When we put our faith in Jesus, His Holy Spirit gives us all sorts of special gifts that help us show His love to others. But all of us have different gifts; we can do different things really well. And when we decide to use our gifts TOGETHER, something amazing happens. We can actually point other people to Jesus! Let s say you know a friend at school who s been going through something tough. Maybe he s been really sick, and he s had to miss, like, two WEEKS of school while he s been at home getting better. What do you think that would be like for him? Boring? Lonely? Yeah. I think so. He would probably still be in a lot of pain, too, while his body was recovering. This is where YOU come in. This is the perfect chance for you and your friends to work together and brighten his day! You can let him know you re thinking about him. You can do something special for him and make his time at home a whole lot better. What if you did something together to surprise him? Look at our friends up here on stage. Look at their gifts. What could they do for him? Give the kids a chance to respond. You can always prompt them to get them thinking (sending him a video of funny jokes, sending him a card, visiting him to cheer him up, etc.). CLOSE Those were some great ideas. And you know what? When we use our gifts together, there s no limit to what we can do. We can work together like one body. Check out our bottom line for today. CUE: Bottom Line (#19). We can work together to point others to Jesus! Let s give our friends a hand. (To the kids on stage) Thanks for your help! Collect the props from the kids as they head back to their seats. Remember, everyone who believes in Jesus is part of the body of Christ. (Point to a kid.) When you use YOUR gifts, (point to a kid) and you use YOUR gifts, and I use MY gifts, we can work together to do what God wants us to do. We can point others to Jesus! That s what we need to remember. We need to work together to point others to Jesus. If we don t do this if we don t choose to cooperate people will notice that too. They ll think, If THEY can t get along, then why should I want to follow Jesus? But if we DO get this right, people will notice that too. If we act like one body, people will see what a difference Jesus is making in our lives. They ll see how we work together. When we choose to cooperate and act as one body, we can point people to Jesus. I know all of you have some great ideas about how you can cooperate to help others, and that s what you get to talk about back in Small Group! CUE: High energy music as kids exit.
