1 1 April 20, 2000 John A. North, Jr Nunnallys -- Screven County, Georgia Index at Page 9 Rev. Wilkins Harper Nunnally, a native of Virginia, was born on 1/8/1813, and married Mary Anne Arnett, of Screven County. Rev. Nunnally was a member of "Methodist Episcopal Church South". Sylvania is the county seat. The Cyclopedia article list the wife as "Mary Ann (Ennis) Nunnally" which conflicts with the Confederate Military History article as to the last name, Ennis or Arnett. Based on the information provided by Dixon Hollingsworth, the middle name of Rev. Nunnally is identified as "Harper". The following material has been developed independently of the Shortal material and a new numbering system (in Screven County) has been developed. From the original Shortal materials, the lineage is as follows: 1.1 Richard Nunnally B. CA 1640 D. Unknown M. CA 1666, wife born CA 1645 Version I Born England CA 1612, sailed to America on the "Angelsea" in In 1663 was billed for back taxes which local authorities reduced slightly. Data from Helen Brindley's brother's records. Ship sailing has not been verified. Version II (Shortal shows DOB CA 1640 and "Probably born Henrico Co., VA. Fined in 1663 in that county for nonpayment of church tithe.") Version III Possible Richard Nunn, age 19, who arrived from London on ship Increase to Boston in April, 1635 or Thomas Nunn, age 22, from London on ship David to Virginia in September, (As discussed in Mrs. Dennison s text) Richard Nunnally, Jr Thomas Nunnally SECOND GENERATION & THEIR CHILDREN 2.2 Thomas Nunnally B. CA Thomas Nunnally II B. CA 1695

CA 1775 D. CA James Nunnally 6.83 Mildred Nunnally 6.84 Judith Nunnally Note: This lineage was the subject of A History of the Pioneer Families of Missouri, by Wm. S. Bryan and Robert Rose, Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc., Baltimore, MD, That material noted that Peter Nunnelly was a "bound boy" to a horse doctor, veterinarian, and jockey and was with Gen. Cornwallis' Army at Yorktown. The assumption was made by the authors that Peter Nunnelly came from England with the army - not so. Mrs. Jean Nunley Dennison accurately noted that the "Missouri" Nunnally's were not a separate line of family but that of our Virginia Nunnallys. Additional dates Mrs. Dennison s book, page 5. SIXTH GENERATION & THEIR CHILDREN 6.81 George Littleberry Nunnally B. CA 1775 D. CA 1835 Veteran of War of 1812, 10 th Infantry M. Mary Polly Harper 12/24/1807 B. D. Sallie Warnock 1.10 Almyra Jane Nunnally B. 8/30/1861 D. 6/11/1943 M. Dave Carswell 4 Presumed a child based on his middle name being the same as his mother's maiden name, date of birth being 1813 and his parent's marriage being NOT INDEPENDENTLY VERIFIED. 5 First wife from Southern Christian Adborate, Vol I, , p. 34. Hollingsworth materials indicate unknown for first wife.
5 5 Note: The Hollingsworth material shows her DOB as 2/18/1864 but the tombstone is 8/30/1861. The 1840 Georgia Census shows the following information for Wilkins H. Nunnally as a family head (Pre-second marriage): AGES Males: Females: Census, GA, Screven County, 34th District (Microfilm Page 90). There is no listing in the 1830 or 1820 Census for Wilkins H. Nunnally in Georgia. The Hollingsworth materials stated that he came to Georgia at age he was in GA for the 1830 Census, i.e., born 1813 plus age 13 = It would appear that he would not have come alone at that age. In 1840, the date of the Census, Nunnally would have been age 27 (Born 1813). The age count would tend to indicate that four (4) older, white males were living in his home -- who? -- brothers? The children listed on the next page were all born from his second marriage and all born after The 1850 Census shows the named children plus Caroline Nunnally, age 19, when W. H. Nunnally was age possible cousin or younger sister? 1.2 Diodorus Benson Clarke Nunnally ("Dorus") B. 2/15/1844 D. 5/22/1925 M. Susie E.
