2 2. What is your recruitment process? - For Trading/Commercial/Analytics (Supply & Trading) graduates/interns, stage 4 is a 1 day event which includes a motivational interview, commercial/technical interview and an assessed trading exercise. For most other graduates and interns Stage 4 consists of a technical interview generally held at one of our UK offices. 3. How long can I expect the process to take? Stage 1 Application - We aim to contact you regarding your application 4 weeks from having received the application and SJQ responses. However, at peak times this may take longer. We advise you to keep up to date with the progress of your application through your candidate zone. This is also reliant on how quickly the candidate progresses themselves through the assessments. Stage 2 Online tests - We ask for you to complete the online tests within 5 days. We will aim to let you know the outcome of your tests within four weeks. This is also reliant on how quickly the candidate progresses themselves through the assessments. Stage 3/4 Competency Telephone Interview/ Technical Interview - Interviews will start in October. There may be a few weeks between being invited to attend an interview and actually attending one. We strongly advise you to book onto the first available interview as we recruit on a rolling basis and once all of our assessment events are full we cannot guarantee that we will be holding any more. We aim, to let you know the outcome of the interview stage 3 within 4 weeks and stage 4 within 2 weeks. Stage 5 Assessment Centre - We aim to let you know the outcome within 1 week of having attended the Assessment centre. 4. What s happening to my application? You can track your progress using the stage bar in your Candidate Zone. However, if you have not heard from us within the time scales outlined in the answer above for any part of the process then please contact our hotline ( if calling from overseas) or enquiry@bpgraduates.co.uk 5. What do I do if I am no longer interested in pursuing my application? You can withdraw from the process at any time by contacting the hotline. If you are booked to attend an interview or assessment centre you can withdraw by revisiting your booking via the original stored in your candidate zone and withdraw yourself from the process. If your

3 interview or assessment centre is within 24 hours of withdrawing from the process, please also your Graduate Resourcing Advisor name will be listed on your candidate zone. 6. Can I apply for more than one opportunity? You can only apply for one opportunity, so please use the degree matcher to view the opportunities which you are eligible to apply for and select the opportunity that is right for you. 7. Can I change my mind and transfer to a different opportunity? If you have changed your mind and want to apply for a different opportunity please check the degree matcher to see what else you may be interested in and eligible for. Then contact the hotline and let us know what you would like to transfer to. We will then be in touch to let you know if this is a possibility. 8. What If I did not, or am not on track for, receiving a 2:1 or above in my degree due to mitigating circumstances? We understand that certain circumstances can prevent you from achieving the essential education criteria. Please tick the mitigating circumstances box on both the degree matcher and the application form upon applying. It is very important that you use the space provided on the application form under the mitigating circumstances section to help us understand your situation. This will then be taken into consideration when screening your application form. Please be aware that we may contact you asking for further information. If you would prefer to speak with someone prior to submitting your application then please contact us at enquiry@bpgraduates.co.uk or call from the UK. If you are calling from overseas, please dial All information provided to us by you will be treated with complete confidentiality. 9. Who should I contact if I require an adjustment to the process? All information provided to us by you will be treated with complete confidentiality. These are some examples of adjustments that may be made. 4 10. What will the Situational Judgement Questionnaire involve? Should you be successful after your application form has been reviewed, you will receive an containing a link to our Situational Judgement Questionnaire (SJQ). During the SJQ, you will be presented with a number of realistic scenarios that you may face in a Graduate or Intern role at BP. You will be asked to provide your view on what you would do in this situation using the options available. The SJQ will take approximately minutes to complete, however it is not timed. Please action as soon as possible and we will communicate accordingly once complete. You can also save the form and come back to it at a later time. 10. Can I reset my online test? If you are experiencing problems with your online test we would suggest you first check that you have Adobe Flash Player 8 installed on your computer. This is a requirement for the operation of the test. You can download this here: You must also maximise your screen when taking the online test. If you are still having difficulties or if you require any adjustments, then please contact the hotline on or bysending us an at enquiry@bpgraduates.co.uk. If you are calling from overseas, please dial How should I approach the telephone interview? There are top interview tips on our graduate website. When preparing for the interview, it is important to consider your experiences, the skills that we look for, and the opportunity that you are applying for. When it comes to your actual interview, make sure that you are in a quiet room where you will not be disturbed, have a pen and paper handy in case you want to make notes, water and anything else that you would normally require during a face to face interview. Relax, take your time to think about your answers and be comfortable with silences just let your interviewer know that you need to take time to think so that they know you are still at the end of the line! Remember, we are not assessing your technical skills at this stage. Our interviewers are HR representatives and do not have specific technical knowledge or experience within the opportunity that you have applied to. For information regarding your chosen opportunity please visit our website. 12. What can I expect from the technical assessment? - Your technical assessment is a face to face interview with our colleagues who work in the discipline that you have applied for. It lasts for approximately 90 minutes. During that time you will be asked about your studies and presented with one or two case studies. These are real life scenarios that you might face in your graduate role at BP. Rest assure, that you do not need any prior knowledge of the Oil and Gas industry; however, you will need to demonstrate your technical knowledge and how you can apply it. Therefore, you may want to prepare by covering the technical knowledge gained whilst at university or in the workplace including theories, principles, models etc. - For Business and Trading opportunities, you need to demonstrate how you apply your thinking to scenarios rather than any specific technical knowledge. - For Graduate Trading opportunities, you will have a technical interview alongside a presentation, and a trading simulation. More information will be given to you on your technical assessment invite. - For Technology you will also complete a logic based test alongside your technical interview.

5 13. What can I expect from the assessment centre? During the assessment centre you will take part in a variety of exercises both group and individual. It will provide some insight into the work that BP does but you will not require any specific knowledge about Oil and Gas. We will be assessing you against our non-technical graduate competencies. The assessment centre is a half day event. However if you have applied for a graduate opportunity in Trading, your assessment centre will last a full day. 14. What do I do if I cannot make my interview or assessment centre? It is essential that you let us know as soon as possible if you are not able to attend. As soon as you know that you cannot make your interview or assessment, please contact us via the hotline to let us know. We will endeavour, where possible, to reschedule this for you. If we are not able to reschedule then we put you on hold until we are able to. However, as we make offers on a rolling basis, and receive high volumes of applications we cannot guarantee that there will be further interview/assessment slots available. 15. Can I have feedback on my application? Due to the high volumes of applications we are unable to provide specific feedback at earlier stages in the process. Feedback is only given after the final stage - the assessment centre. You will receive an asking you to book onto a 30 minute feedback session over the telephone. If there are no feedback sessions available online, please check again in a few days. Please contact the hotline if you are still unable to book feedback a week after receiving your feedback invitation Where can I find out more about BP? Our website, is full of useful information about BP and includes some detailed profiles of BP people currently in various roles. We also have a Facebook page, where you will be able to keep updated with current news and stories as well as find out when we are on your campus and able to meet you face to face. FAQ - Success Candidates 19. Where will I be working when I join BP? We are looking to offer all our graduates and interns the best possible development; therefore we ask that you are all geographically mobile. We have sites throughout the UK with Sunbury, Canary Wharf and Aberdeen our main sites. However, depending on your chosen discipline, you could be placed anywhere in the UK including Hull, Hemel Hempstead, Pangbourne, Milton Keynes, Leatherhead, Swindon, Canary Wharf, and Shetland Islands. Roles are allocated in July If you have a location preference, please do let us know at your interview. We may be able to take this into consideration but cannot guarantee your placement. 20. What are the salaries and benefits? Salaries for graduates start from 33,000. The salary for interns is 25,000 pro rata. You may also be entitled to Extra benefits including; 3,000 settling in allowance, location allowance, Company share scheme, pension scheme, bonus scheme, flexible benefits allowance, private healthcare, car lease scheme, and spot bonuses. Please note, interns may not be eligible for all of the above benefits. 21. Can I defer my start date? We would normally expect interns to start on the last week of June 2016 and graduates to start in September 2016 although PhD graduates may be able to defer their start date until January In addition, Trading Graduates will be required to start in August. Unfortunately, we cannot defer start dates to the following September.

8 22. Do BP issue work permits? We cannot guarantee that you will be issued with a work permit but we will work with immigration and start the process on your behalf once you have accepted a job offer from us. 23. Can I apply more than once in a recruitment year? - No, you can only apply once in a recruitment season. If for example you participated in a BP internship appraisal at the end of your 2016 summer internship, you must wait to apply again in September 2017 for a 2018 role. You will not be eligible to apply for a 2017 graduate role. - If you have already been rejected this recruitment season (September 2016-March 2017) then you can only reapply in September 2017 for a 2018 role.
