Andrews Mary Kay Cadillac Sales Director HIGHLIGHTS: Court of Sales, Court of Achievement, Double Star, Star Consultant every quarter, Triple Crown: On The Move, Fabulous 50 s, Honor Society, Cadillac Sales Director I began my business in May of 2007, it was the best decision for my families future that I have ever made. My son Tyler was only 6 months old and I was so tired of missing his firsts in life. I was working in commercial insurance, as I like to call it "the boys club". I was tired of making someone else's dreams come true by working really hard to build "their" business and not mine. Our Family My husband, Luke, is the Event Coordinating Director for Upstream in South Park. We've been married for 8 years, he's my Rock and BIGGEST supporter. Our son, Tyler, is 8 and will be a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do this year. He is fearless and has more self confidence than any child I've ever seen. I give our Mary Kay business credit for that. This is our family business, not just my business, we all work it together. We are committed to building our National Area to financially support the future building of The Andrews House, a home for at risk teenage girls. I really didn't see Mary Kay as a career opportunity until being in the business for several months. As a matter of fact I only got into the business at the request of my husband Luke. You see when Tyler was born I lost myself in being a wife and mother. There was nothing left of me for me. Luckily Luke saw something in me and in the Mary Kay opportunity, for that I will always being grateful. Mary Kay has changed my life more than I can ever explain to anyone but the difference in me is obvious if you ever knew me before. I have become a better wife, mother and friend. 5 Business Power Plan A 6 step process to making the BEST decision for your business! Regardless of the reasoning behind your decision to become a Mary Kay Consultant, you ll want to take a very logical, rational approach in m aking your inventory decision as your tim e m anagem ent, immediate profit, and cash flow depends on it!! Now follow the next 6 steps to make your best business decision!! 1. Who Do You Know? Make a list of 75+ women who know your name and face.family, friends, coworkers, etc. 2. It s Your Time. Invest It Wisely. Here s a breakdown of the average profit you can earn monthly based on the effort you put into your business. $160 to $320/month; online orders; 6-12 faces per month; 1-2 hours per week = 2 point $400 to $600/month; 1 party per week; faces per month; 5-7 hours per week = 4 points $800 to $1,800/month; 2-3 parties per week; faces per month; hours per week = 6 points $1,200 to $3,000/month; 3-4 parties per week; faces per month; hours per week = 8 points 3. Make A Decision! There are MANY WAYS to invest, but here are my favorite options you can use to make your investment! 1. Get a small personal loan Credit Unions & small banks usually have the lowest rates 2. Apply for Discover, Fifth/Third Bank, Key Bank or US Bank 0% Credit Card 3. Borrow from a friend/family member who is willing to invest in supporting YOU and your new business 4. Use a credit card you currently have that has low interest or borrow from a savings/retirement account 5. There are many more options we can discuss! 6. Please refer to the Inventory Financing Options information on the next page.

6 Inventory Financing Options If you re like I was when I started my Mary Kay business, you might not have money sitting around to use to place an initial product order. Most businesses aren t started using personal money, and the same holds true in Mary Kay. Here are a few options that most consultants use to finance their initial inventory investment Discover Credit Card I have had many consultants (especially students) get approved for a no interest card. U.S. Bank This bank works with many new MK consultants. Depending on your credit, they offer a 0% interest credit card for 6-12 months that is an excellent. You can apply online. Go to on Credit & Prepaid Cards at the top of the home page, then Credit Cards. Scroll down to the box that says, Take Me to: and click on the down arrow. Scroll all the way down to the Rewards Visa and click go. Then click Apply Now to apply. The picture of the card has Kroger on it. After you ve gotten approval, you can request that the card be rushed to you by calling Jennifer Maddox at Fifth/Third Bank You may need a cosigner to get approved. They offer 0% interest for those approved for 12 months and no annual fees. You can apply over the phone. Tell them you re in Mary Kay and that you d like to apply for the 0% credit card. Key Bank Contact Sam Cho (brother of Sr Cadillac Director, Mary Cho) at to apply for a 0% Kay Bank credit card. He is also able to provide your credit card number over the phone. Mary Kay Visa Credit Card Go to Click on MK Connections, then VISA MK Credit Card Offer, and then apply. There are 2 card options: Rewards (on the left side) and No rewards (on the right side) you ll want to apply for the No Rewards card because it has the instant approval. The other card takes several weeks to arrive. Remember, that you can always upgrade to the Rewards card later. Also, the Rewards card has a higher interest rate after the introductory 6 month period. When you apply, make sure everything is perfect before you hit the submit button. Do not hit stop, back or refresh button while they are processing your application. Once you are approved WRITE down the credit card number and expiration date and THEN print the screen shot. If you lose the number for any reason, federal law prohibits that CHASE give you the number over the phone and your card will not arrive for approximately 2 weeks. You will receive a temporary limit (usually $1,000) so call immediately (866) to find out what your final approval limit is. You will also want to activate your CC at this time before you place your order. If your spouse has a higher credit score let him apply and order a 2nd card in your name. Also make sure your GROSS household monthly income is your before tax income for the both of you & you may include anyone s income that lives in your home. If you or your spouses credit score is lower than 600 I would not recommend that you apply. The underwriting guidelines are rather strict. Why I recommend these cards: a. All have instant approval so you can order your product and start your business immediately. b. Keep track of all of your expenses together: website, business cards, and business supplies. c. After the introductory period of 6 months, a good standing customer can call and request an additional 6 months at 0%.

7 Business Debut Checklist Business Debut! Your Business Debut is the best way for me to support you as you begin your business! I am here to support you in every way and will match my time with your efforts! Schedule your business debut within your 1st 2-3 weeks of your business! Y ou w ill to have your inventory in stock before your Business Debut. Invite all people on your Contact List. (Y ou can expect 10 to attend if you invite 50, with proper follow-up). Send out a minimum of 50 Business Debut Invitations (send one to your Director). Follow up with EVERYONE you invited hours before your Debut. Sending postcards alone will not be effective. After you have mailed your invitations, plan to call each guest personally and invite them hours before your event. This is very important & will greatly improve the attendance of your Business Debut! Your attendance will be in direct proportion to the number of guests that you personally speak with hours prior to the event. Don t be afraid to tell your guests that you will receive a prize when 10 people over the age of 18 are present & remind everyone that they can bring a friend! If a friend or family member cannot come to your Business Debut, share your goal (30 faces in 30 days) and ask if you can barrow her face or invite her to the next unit event! Book appointm ents w ith guests w ho cannot attend your Business Debut. CHECKLIST FOR THE DAY OF THE DEBUT: Provide simple refreshments. W e w ill eat afterw ards. Mark your datebook w ith everything you have going on in your life. Highlight the times and dates that you have dedicated to your Mary Kay business. Put a star beside your power start weeks. Your main goal after the Business Debut Presentation is to take your date book around & talk individually with each guest to book appointments! Your goal is to book 10 appointments to complete your PowerStart! Your Director will fill orders, book interviews & talk with the guests about the career opportunity. Have the following supplies available: Pens and profile cards on hand for each guest to complete as they arrive Satin Hands Set for guests to try as they arrive Money bag, sales tickets and a calculator Beauty Books & Look Books stamped with contact information. Filled travel roll-up bags Set up product displays & hang roll-up bags around the room for guests to look at. Have all your product displayed - this lets your guests see that you are serious about servicing their needs and that you are serious about your business. Have 10 Hostess packets prepared to give out to your 1st 10 hostesses. Packets should include: Hostess Flyer that comes in your Starter Kit, Mary Kay Look Book & your business card Have a poster board prepared w ith 30 spaces on the front and 30 spaces on the back. We will use this poster board during the presentation to book your 1st faces.

8 Business Debut! Business Debut-What You Can Expect During the Presentation Your Director will explain the purpose of the event: We are launching YOUR business & the PRODUCT you are selling! Your 1st goal will be shared (30 faces in 30 days; 6 practice interviews) with your guests! Your guests will know that you will be asking them to help you by having an appointment to try the products. All the guests will introduce themselves. Mary Kay will be introduced as the #1brand of Skin Care & Color Cosmetics in the Nation! All the guests will sample the Miracle Set on the back of the hand. No one will receive a facial or makeover that day. Your Director will share her I story. We will book your 1st faces using the poster board. At the close, guests will have an opportunity to make a purchase, schedule an appointment & set up an Interview while we mingle and have refreshments. Do not pass out Look Books/Hostess Packets until AFTER the presentation - too distracting to pass it out before. THERE SHOULD BE ABSOLUTELY NO CHILDREN AT THIS EVENT, including your ow n. This is an adult event and your guests should be able to relax and be pampered without any distractions. Women will not focus and shop as much if there are distractions during the event. Please ask your friends to get a babysitter and enjoy the day to herself. WEAR A PROFESSIONAL SKIRT OR DRESS! You are launching your new business...please look professional! What Your Director Will Bring to Your Business Debut 5-10 Interview Packets, your Director will pass these out to your sharp guests at the end of the presentation. We will schedule your 1st 5-15 Practice Interviews that day. Tickets to pass out during the games & prizes at your Business Debut. What Do I Do After My Business Debut Add up your sales, the number of appointments you booked & the number of practice interviews you booked! or Text your Director to let her know the results! Record your sales in your Online Weekly Accomplishment Sheet on marykayintouch.com. Deposit your sales into your MK checking & savings accounts. Remember, if you are not on profit (full store) then part of your profit will go toward building your full store. Not everyone can come into MK with a full store but there is no reason you cannot build to a full store by running a clean business (do the 60/40 split). Quickly reorder any products you did not have on hand at your debut to fill orders expediently or place an order to replace the products that you sold. Follow up within hours (no later) with a quick phone call to everyone who was at your Debut to thank them and to confirm their appointments. Also, call all your hostesses to get their guest lists! Send a friendly reminder or postcard to every guest we booked a phone interview with! Last, but VERY CRITICAL...Call all your guests who could not attend your Business Debut! Say something like the following, but make it NATURAL TO YOU & KEEP IT LIGHT! Don t take yourself too seriously! Say, Susie Q, hey, this is Leah.do you have a quick second? Well, I am so sorry you missed my business debut...we had a great time...we missed you...everything went great! I wanted to let you know about my first goal...to practice on 30 faces in 30 days! I would love to borrow your face and get your opinion of our products! So, is there any reason why we couldn t get together? What s best for, this week or next week? **After you book a day and time with her say, When you have at least 2 friends attend your appointment with you, you qualify for discounts! Is there any reason why you wouldn t want to have a few friends attend your appointment with you? **If you get voic say that you have a really important question to ask & leave it at that! Don t ramble on about your goal!

11 A How to Get Everything Started How do I log into the Mary Kay website? Go to You will need your consultant number. Leave the password blank and hit connect. How do I set up my Website? Go to and log in as a consultant. You will have the option to purchase your website for $30 in the month you begin your business and the month after. How do I order professional business tools (business cards, etc )? Go to How do I accept credit cards as payment? Log into On the home page scroll down the page. On the right hand side click on the ProPay link or call How do I order my product? Your Director will place your first order for you. After that you can order on by clicking on the Online Ordering link at the top of the page or call How do I know if I m active? Log into and check your Personal Report and your status will be next to your name or call You are active the month you have in at least $225 wholesale and the following 2 months. Only active consultants are eligible for their 50% discount. (Example, you place your initial order of $600 w/s in January 20-you are active and will receive your discount in January, February and March. If you do not place at least $225 w/s cumulative in any subsequent calendar month beginning in April you will be considered inactive and will not receive your discount.
