2 CLIENT ATTRACTION SYSTEM 8 Easy To Implement Content Marketing Strategies To Attract More Clients & Grow Your Business We all want more clients to grow our business, whether it s coaching, dentistry, accounting or otherwise. I work with a lot of coaches (business, lifestyle, tax, niche ) and I ve seen first hand what works (and implemented it!). So here is a run down of what my most successful clients are doing to attract new clients, bring them into their sales funnel and grow their coaching practice. Plus, I ll give you some bonus tips along the way. Before I start though, I do want to stress how important it is for consistent growth to retain current clients, nurture and foster those relationships and provide stellar customer service. You always are on the hunt for new leads and clients YES, but your bread and butter so to speak relies on current clients. It costs less, and is easier to upgrade your current clients to more services and to keep them happy and work with you for longer. This report focuses on acquiring new leads and includes the top 8 things that you can do to attract new clients to help grow your business exponentially. 1.Blogs A blog on your website is a must to bring new content, weekly to your audience. You want potential clients to see YOU as the expert in your field and blogs help show that. Write about what you know in your business, what you coach people about. Don t be afraid to give some of the gold and goods away. It s this great content that will have them coming back and wanting to know MORE about you. One of the main reasons to have a blog is to bring more visitors and traffic to your website. A blog (great content) makes someone click to read. Once on your site, hopefully they ll dive into your other content, sign up for something, check out your services and what you do, read your testimonials and be impressed and of course connect with you to use your services or buy a product. Added bonus? Sharing your blogs on social media boosts your SEO rankings. This is referred to as Organic Traffic. Clicks from Social Media to your blog/website.
3 Hint it s a good idea to have a pop up on blog pages offering a great FREE report, video, checklist etc. Convert your blog readers to your E-list! 2.Videos Finding the right coach is a very personal thing. Your prospects want to feel like they know you, trust you and feel a connection WAY before they say yes to working with you. What better way to a) show your personality b) show you care c) show that you are relatable and d) show you know your stuff and how you can help them than in a video! For instance, one of my clients, his target market is 60% more likely to digest a video than any other medium. They see his energy, his passion, hear his story and gleans his strategies through them. Another client is a women s life coach. She uses videos in her marketing. She talks about her story, making her relatable. She reaches them on an emotional level. It s this rapport and connection that brings her results. She gets way more clicks and sign ups to webinars and other events when she incorporates videos into her marketing. For me I like How To videos as I know that s what I love to watch. I want to know a better way of doing things, to be more efficient, to get something done. And I know other people out there do too. Not only do people see who I am, my personality but also what I do and what I know. Bonus Tips For Creating Great Videos: The video should be under 5 minutes. 2-3 is ideal. People have short attention spans and want to get information quickly. You want to capture their attention fast. The video should have a branded intro. You can even get them for cheap on Fiverr! *You Tube has an easy to use video editor to add these intro s on and cut out what s not needed.
4 Ensure you have a You Tube Channel to showcase your videos, so folks can subscribe to your channel and so you can use the embed link to put them in your website too. Don t include any ads or promo material on the first few months of doing videos let people get to know you and dive into your content. After that use a call to action or add in a promo reel to get folks to sign up for things and convert them to your E-list. Film the videos horizontally NOT vertically (or else you get those yukky black bars on either side). Don t get hung up on what you look like, or the fear on what to say. Just start. Yes, the first couple will not be the greatest (you should see mine I cringe). People are just interested in your message. Take material from your blogs, the most common questions you get asked about, advice you give your clients, your own stories. Once you get started you ll have ideas flowing out of you I promise. 3.Podcast Show Do you want to build an audience or add value to your existing audience? Do you want to create a platform that positions you as an expert, connects you to others, and can even provide an additional stream of income? Do you want loyal fans and followers tuning in regularly to hear from YOU? If you think these benefits would be an advantage to YOUR business then you should seriously consider podcasting. In 2015 alone - 46 million Americans age 13 and up listened to podcasts on a regular basis. Wow, right?! Tap into that audience. Have a podcast show with just you delivering content, or interview guest experts plus try to get on some shows yourself to increase your reach and exposure. It extends your reach as of course the guests/hosts share the content to their lists too and so on. Connect with your audience. Podcasting gives you the ability to speak directly to your target audience in a way that makes a personal connection with them. They ll come to feel that they know you, which will build your credibility and help to generate more business.
5 Generate attention and interest. Podcasting gives you the opportunity to capture attention, interest and curiosity about a topic that is related to your business, your interests, and your passions. Build your platform. Podcasting lets you get your message out to the public in a way that complements your social media marketing, website, and traditional marketing programs. Create content. Podcasting allows you to highlight relevant, timely, and interesting content in a way that is simple and fun to do. Boost your SEO: When you promote your podcast on social media and folks click back to your website that houses it voila Organic SEO. This boosts your rankings. Broaden your exposure and reach. Podcasting will turn you into an expert and will benefit your guests as well. Think of how many people will share your podcast PLUS think about your guest and who THEY share it with. Now multiply that by how many guests you have in a year WOW! Network and build relationships. Podcasting is a form of networking and building relationships. It s a way to get to know other people (and businesses) in other industries that you wouldn t necessarily connect with. Increases referrals. All those great relationships mentioned above will think of YOU as an expert in your field and is more likely to refer you to others that they know and seeking that type of product or service. Increase your connections and benefit others. Podcasting allows you to benefit others as you refer other people to your peers or clients. 6 4.Free Resources Lead Magnets Again, you want to give folks a ton of value and information away for free in exchange for what? Why s of course. The goal here is to build your list so that you can educate, interact, engage and bring them through your sales funnel and market to them. A great lead magnet is on a specific topic and one that solves a specific problem that your target market has. It shows them how to solve that problem. Some great options are: Customer Resolution System Marketing Checklist A Video Marketing Cheat Sheet A Free Chapter Bundle *of your book 8 Ways to get xyz A free trial or sample of something A quiz or survey Free guide or e-book Video Series Mini-Course Contest Whatever the medium or topic just make sure it s something your target audience would WANT and NEED. Ensure it is meeting a pain point for them and solves a problem. You want something that compels them to enter their and sign up to claim their copy. The next step would be to share that lead magnet to maximize your conversions. Some options are: 1. Sidebar buttons on your site 2. Pop Up Opt In Box 3. Exit Pop Up 4. Conversion bar on your home page 5. Sharing on social media 6. Including on any direct mail or printed newsletters 7. Facebook Ads 8. Mentioning the offer/lead magnet on videos 9. Mentioning the offer at the end of a Podcast Show *especially if you are the guest 10. Offer on a Live Facebook Video 11. Offer it to new followers on Twitter 12. Send Direct Messages on LinkedIn or Facebook
7 Bonus Hint Capitalize on their attention. Offer to purchase a product or course or webinar on the Thank You Page and they receive after they opt in. Ensure you have a call to action at the end of your report/ebook/lead magnet to entice them to book a strategy call, purchase a product, join a course etc. 5. Sales Funnels The resources and sign ups are what enables you to market to them, keep in touch with them and send them content, whether it s your latest videos, podcasts or exclusive opportunities or events. When they sign up for resources have auto responders and sales funnel sequences set up in your program. Send them through a tripwire sequence to influence them to purchase something small and then say yes to bigger offers down the road. Let me explain. So YES the person that opts in for the lead magnet needs their thank you page and thank you . BUT they need more then that to bring them down the sales funnel. Here are some ideas and options: 1. Indoctrination Campaign for those that are new to your e-list, and to you may want a series of 3 s to get to know you. Answer the most common FAQ s you get, let them know how you can serve them, and best yet share with them FREE resources that you have and give them great content! 2. Engagement Series once they get the lead magnet or report follow up with them to ensure they DID read it and engage with the material. Send s that share some of the tips that are inside- a did you check out this part type Tripwire Series after the engagement and indoctrination you may wish to offer them a chance to purchase one of your lower level products. It can be an online course, a book, an info product. You want them to step into the next level and purchase something pulling them further to your main goal join your coaching program. 4. Nurture Campaigns send them extra content and stay in touch. You can share articles, blogs, videos, your latest podcast or an e-newsletter/ezine. It s a way of providing more value, and giving them more opportunities to see how amazing you and your services are and how knowledgeable you are. There are tons of other types of campaigns you can initiate through but this gives you an idea of some of the possibilities.
8 Then of course you ll market to them about your webinars, your live events your middle tiered products and services. Or you can offer of course a strategy call or discovery call to learn about your programs. But I do find that the most successful entrepreneurs I know have LIVE events (middle tier product) to then boost conversions to their coaching programs etc. I talk more about events in the next item. 6.Online and/or Live Events Hosting online events is an amazing way to get new leads, and to grow your e-list. You can hold an online event in numerous ways some examples are: Full fledged Webinar (using WebinarJam or Go To Webinar for instance) A Google Hangout A Teleseminar (where registrants dial in via phone to listen only) Zoom Live Training These systems allow for different methods of delivery. It s great to test out different kinds to see what resonates with your target market the best. I ve found too. that many people resonate with the phrase Live Online Training vs Webinar but again it s best to test. You can share your screen to illustrate and show things, just use video of you to really connect with your audience so they get to know you, use slides to deliver the presentation (they see the slides and hear you) or simply audio with Teleseminar presentation. It also depends how technically savvy your audience is and what they will likely use the most. These FREE online trainings (webinars, teleseminars, livestream event, google hangout whichever method you choose) bring leads into your circle so they get to know you, build a relationship with you, get help and strategies at the online event and are more likely to say YES to working with you long term. The key is to how you market the online event AND having a clear call to action at the end of the event to bring them deeper into the funnel. Offer them to buy a product, join a course, attend a live event or book a strategy call. Either way, you need them to take the logical step to your final goal. Many of my highly successful clients also conduct live events, where many are converted to a coaching program of some kind. (Albeit their events provide HUGE value and strategies it s by no means a pitch fest). The online event for instance can then offer your LIVE event, and the live event you would offer your program. Live events aren t for everyone but they DO work. It takes a certain skill to sell from the stage and a lot of work to orchestrate and arrange a live event. The strategy behind live events is that your prospects build a stronger relationship with you and see you in person. They see you in action, teaching, holding profit seats, giving advice. They get a taste of what your program looks like and really see what you know and how you can help them in a bigger way that online marketing can not. They can be extremely powerful.
9 7.Social Media To market your business online, you can t ignore the power of Social Media. It s all about connecting with people, engaging with them, providing value and content to serve them and interact with them in multiple ways. ranking. It s also a way to boost your organic SEO. By sharing your content (blogs/videos/podcast) on social media, folks will click the links to your blog and be directed to your website, increasing your SEO It s also way to grow your e-list, to market to them through your sale funnels. It s a way to show the world your brilliance your knowledge and experience, your services and products. Here is a short list what you can share on social media. Blogs Videos Podcasts (your show or your guest interviews) Infographics Slideshares Text Graphics Simple tips Quotes Stories Free Resources Lead Magnets Events What s new in your business / life Testimonials Ask questions and request feedback Want more content ideas? Go to One of the big questions I get asked is What platforms should I post to. The most common are LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook. You may wish to post to Google Plus for SEO purposes and a ton of businesses are using Instagram and Pinterest and of course You Tube for videos. Don t feel you need to do them all. Start off with the basics LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook. Note Facebook you will need a profile AND a page. You use the profile to connect as friends and the page represents your business.
10 Tip: Before diving in to every platform, find out where your target market is hanging out the most and engaging in content thus choose the platforms strategically. There is so much that can be written about Social Media but here are a few quick tips to get you started. 1 Ensure your profile pages are on brand. Ensure there is a profile picture and cover photo and they are similar for each platform and also match your website. You want to project a consistent image. 2 Ensure your profile pages have a complete description, and up to date contact information. You want to make it easy for folks to find out about you and connect. Share your website and other social media platform links. 3 Cross promote your platforms ie get your Twitter followers over to Facebook and visa versa. 4 Post consistently if you go a week without posting you will stop being top of mind and making it to their feed on a regular basis. 5 Don t let it be all about promotion. Be a giver share tons of value, content and resources! 6 Engage follow others, like their posts, comment, send direct messages, read their posts, share them. The more engaged and interactive you are the more it ll come back to you and folks will engage with you. Use it to build relationships and trust. 8.Have a call to action It s great to have all these videos, blogs and content but you need to ask for the sale so to speak and get them to take action. Have them sign up for strategy call, sign up for a FREE or paid or live event. You need to bring them further into the funnel and say yes to one of your products or services in order for them to become a customer. Have ONE clear call to action on each page (especially landing pages). If people have too many options they get confused and bail. Be very clear and concise when asking them to do something.
