In our interview outlined in Side Hustle Bible, she gives some great advice finding a side hustle, and then developing it into your full-time income. Here are some tips for laying out your plan. BRAINSTORM: What are some of your marketable skills? What are you seen as an expert in? (List 10) Examples could be: Writing, graphic design, organization, landscaping, proofreading, funnels, gardening, cooking, building resumes, interior design. Maybe you have a great reading voice or a knack for finding bargain antiques. Anything, really. A good gauge: What are your friends always asking you to help them with? Or what are some of the microskills listed on your resume?

3 COLLECT YOUR FIRST $100/HOUR + INCOME RESEARCH: Find other people offering those skills. What sets you apart? RESEARCH: What platforms can you find to advertise these skills? (List 10) For example, Fiverr, Freelancer, 99Designs, Craigslist, Facebook, etc.

Consider your bills and however much extra money you need to get by. RESEARCH: How much can you realistically charge for your side hustle services? Look into the existing market to see the common rates. DO THE MATH: How much side hustling would you need to do, and for how long, to meet your minimum required income?

(List 10) Offering a free 30-minute phone consultation or an e-book is a great way to bring in new clients and build your list. Check out what some other marketers are doing to get some ideas.

If not, do some research on best practices what are some of the top freelancers doing differently? Revise your ad accordingly. BRAINSTORM: Is there anyone in your personal or professional network who would be interested in your side hustle services? (List 10) Maybe a friend of your old boss needs an assistant. Maybe your neighbors need their lawn mowed.

Think of Brian Casel, for instance. He used to design websites for people as a service. Then he moved to providing pre-designed, standardized websites that the client could then take and tailor themselves. He sold those websites one-off as a product. This can be done with a lot of things. Think of software, party-planning packages, catered dinners with set pre-made menu, etc. Brainstorm a list of 10 services you could sell as products. Consider a skill you ve mastered at your dayjob.

TIME FOR COLD LEADS: Once you have an idea of who your potential customer is, start searching for businesses online. Make a spreadsheet of names and s. Use mail merge to contact them all at once. CONTENT MARKETING: Create a content marketing plan. Brainstorm a list of platforms, including blogs, open-publishing websites, podcasts, etc. where you can get the word out. List at least 2

Then start playing around with ads to see what works. FIND CLIENTS: Go for a drive and take note of every company that has bought a billboard. These are companies with advertising dollars to spend. Write down what you ve found here. Contact those companies and offer to run their Facebook ads free for a month. Negotiate an ongoing fee going forward. ALIBABA ARBITRAGE If you ve been following me for a while, you probably know of my Alibaba Arbitrage strategy. A few readers have made some tweaks, and I ve combined their suggestions into the steps below. Let s try it out together. RESEARCH: Go on Amazon and find a product that has sold a lot of units but has low reviews. Scan through the reviews to find out what the biggest complaints are. Write down some ideas here.

Contact them and ask if they could create the product for you but make a few changes to address the complaints. Write down some names. HAVE THE PRODUCT SENT TO THE AMAZON WAREHOUSE. This way, Amazon ships all the products for you directly and you never have to touch your inventory. OR HAVE THE PRODUCT SENT TO YOUR HOUSE. Order the lowest quantity of the product you can and store / ship it yourself. This will save you some startup costs. LIST YOUR PRODUCT. Check to see what similar products are selling for, and price competitively. GO TO REVIEWKICK.COM TO START GETTING REVIEWS QUICKLY. This will force the Amazon algorithm to start showing your products. PAY FOR INFLUENCER MARKETING. Find influencers related to your product on Instagram. Accounts available for paid shouts will have their contact info available. Reach out to get their rates. List some of the influencers here.

(List 10) If you had a previous career, there are probably at least a couple things that you were particularly good at. Think about responsibilities you had in your business things that you trained new employees on, accomplishments that you were recognized for, skills you were asked to teach other people, etc. These are all potential areas you could specialize in as a consultant.

33 COLLECT YOUR FIRST $100/HOUR + INCOME Who would your clients be? GO FIND THEM. Look for professional groups on LinkedIn and Facebook. Post in the groups asking if these are services people would be interested in. PRICE YOURSELF. Find other consultants who do something similar. What are they charging? What is their experience level?
