2 introducing SAM SAM is a major supplier of adhesive coated products to the printing sector. Our extensive product range is available from leading paper merchants in label, sheet or reel formats. SAM s label and digital ranges are sold under our own brand names which include Perfect Labels; suitable for laser, inkjet and litho printing and Perfect Digital which is a range specially developed for the digital printing market. SAM can also provide a bespoke die cutting service for one-offs or short runs without the requirement for expensive tooling and can even die cut before or after printing. Our digital range has been strengthened recently with the addition of the Fasson Digital range which can be supplied in SRA3 sheets with the option to incorporate die cut labels in any of the grades. The adhesive is formulated to withstand the high temperatures associated with some of these printing processes and is also suitable for litho printing. The range includes a number of Avery compatible sizes/layouts. The Perfect label range of printers blanks is specifically designed for litho printing where a more rigid sheet is preferred and an ink receptive surface is important. They are also compatible with most laser, digital and inkjet processes and are therefore an ideal choice if pre-printing is required. Available in 5 sheet sizes and packed 200 sheets per box. A choice of adhesives and face materials are available as standard, including colours and cast coated face papers. Now available in SRA2 sheet sizes too! A range of A4 sheets packed 100 or 500 sheets per box A wide selection of face materials including paper and boards, colours, fluorescent and filmic materials, available in solid back and split back options and a choice of adhesives in A4. The NEW SAM Double-Sided Adhesive is the product you should be using! SAM has introduced a double-sided adhesive sheet which allows customers to laminate two sheets together after printing or turn a plain sheet into a self-adhesive sheet. The product is easy to use: simply remove one of the silicon coated backing sheets and apply the exposed adhesive face to the sheet to be laminated. You can now use the construction as a self-adhesive product or, by removing the second backing sheet, you can laminate a second sheet. HANDY TIP When laminating two sheets, use two similar thickness sheets as it helps to keep the material flat SAM Double-Sided Adhesive is available in sheets as large as B1 down to handy 100 sheet boxes of 320mm x 460mm. More labels per sheet help to reduce production cost and wastage and it s environmentally sensible. 8 choosing THE RIGHT PRODUCT First decide what the primary printing process will be. For example, if the main printing process is litho, select a label from the Printers range which has a face paper ideally suited for this process. Alternatively, if the primary printing process is laser, copier or inkjet select a label from this range. Next, select the label size. All label sizes are listed with the smallest dimension first and in ascending size order. Now finally check the sheet size, adhesive and printing surface is suitable. A range of sheets and labels are available in SRA3 and SRA2 sheet formats in the Perfect Digital and Printers range, all made by precision die cutting. A wide range of face materials and adhesives are available in the Bespoke Label Range and A4 sheet range if you are looking for something special. 15 The answer to short run die cutting A bespoke die cutting service is available for one-off or short run jobs which can be achieved without the need for costly tooling. The Bespoke Cut service offers an economic alternative to conventional label production on runs up to approximately 200 sheets. The smaller the run the more cost effective this service becomes. All we need is an outline of your label or your final layout and we will supply die cut sheets in any of the materials that we stock. Alternatively, we can create the artwork and templates for you. We can also die cut after printing or even cut out shapes completely using our advanced registration mark sensing system and can accommodate a maximum sheet size of 610x920mm. Our equipment is also capable of cutting a wide range of non self-adhesive products, ranging from corrugated and microflute boards, high density foam boards and signage materials up to approximately 1.5mm thick.
