BIM ArchiCAD was the first software to create the smart intelligent modeling back in They have a 20 year head start on the industry and control the international market place with over 100,000 architects using the software. This lesson is designed to take you through a simply cabin plan from start to printing. A great adventure awaits you so let s get started. Find and double click on the ArchiCAD Icon on your desktop.

3 Click inside the Start ArchiCAD gray box. 1. Check Create a New Project. 2. Select Standard Profile 11 in the Set up Work environment. Every time you start up the program select the standard profile. That will return all the settings to this original format. Then finish by clicking NEW This opens the main screen on ArchiCAD where all the design work takes place. On the left is the Tools Box On the right is the Navigator Center of the page is the Elevation Markers. You house should stay inside the markers. You can restore the top of your screen settings by selecting Window, Palettes, Show Main Palettes only. 3

4 ArchiCAD Easy Start THE CABIN Start to Finish Chapter 2 OUTSIDE WALLS In the TOOL BOX on the left side find the WALL tool and double click. This will open the Wall Default Settings 1. Every tool in the TOOL BOX when double clicked will open its default settings. Let s take a close look at this box. 2 This is where you are able to set the height of the wall. 3 The width of the wall can be changed. 4 The reference point or distance from the story setting may be changed. 5 Material can be added to each side and around the edge of the wall. The material may be the same or each can be different. For this project I have selected w pine for a natural color on the logs 6. The layer that you are drawing on is found at the bottom. The layers can be changed but for our project we will use the default. 7. OK 4

5 Since we are drawing a cabin I have selected the LOG DETAILS 2 Click on LOG DETAILS 3. Set the size of logs to 10 Inches. 4 To have the logs round on the inside as well as the outside of the Cabin wall. 5. OK 6. OK In the default settings, change to continuous wall. Look for the starting point. Start your first wall by clicking the mouse and dragging to the right. The Tracker box will show up to tell you the length and angle of the wall. A guide line will also appear to help you keep the wall straight. Holding down the shift key will keep the wall straight. Type in 24 for the distance then presses ENTER. Move the mouse up watching for the tracker and type in 24 then back to the left 24 then back to the starting point 24. Watch for the pencil to turn dark as you approach the beginning to show you that the walls close. NOTE: ArchiCAD will default to feet. You do not have to type the each time. An easy way to enter 3 inches would be to enter 0-3. NOTE: If you have not notices already you can maneuver around the screen using the ball on the mouse. Rolling the ball will ZOOM in and out. Holding the ball in will PAN the screen. 5

6 Since we are dealing with an intelligent BIM model the computer is building a 3D model as we are working in 2D. Let s take a look at what the model looks like. You may shift from 2-D to 3-D at any time during the lesson to check on the progress of your model. From the NAVIGATOR 1. On the right side find 3-D then double click on GENERIC PERSPECTIVE. A 3-D view will be generated on the screen. 2 ORBIT can be used to check out all sides of your cabin. 3. Double Click on 1 st floor to return to the 2-D floor plan. Let s save our project. File: save as CABIN NOTE: I like to save after every lesson. If you use the Save AS each time and change the name of the project you will never lose more than one lesson if your computer crashed for any reason. ie. cabin1, cabin2 etc. 6

7 ArchiCAD Easy Start THE CABIN Start to Finish Chapter 3 INTERIOR WALLS 1. Start the inside wall by double clicking on the WALL tool. 2. Default Settings. 3 Under Cut Fill click on the open box to open the Composite Structures and find the 2 x 4 x ½ gyp. board. 6 OK 4. Model space I have selected the Copper Verdi paint color of the sides and rim of the walls. 5. Change the layer to A-Wall- Inter. One last thing before we start, Open the LOG DETAILS and change the height of the logs to 0 This will give you a normal interior wall. If you want to keep the inside walls as logs the leave the log size as 10 inches. 7

8 At the top of the screen: 1 find the special Snap points and turn it on then open the fly-out and turn on Half. We will use this snap to find the center of the wall. With you mouse hover along the top wall until you see the midpoint mark appear. Follow the orange dashed line down and type in 12. Follow the blue dashed line to the right until it intersects the left wall. A perpendicular symbol will appear when the two walls are perpendicular. Click to end the wall. Note: Additional wall may be added in exact locations by hovering over a point on an existing wall until a blue line appears. This blue line will become an origin. Type x, y or z then enter a + or followed by a numeric distance followed by a + a new blue line will appear at the new location the set distance from the origin. 8

9 ArchiCAD Easy Start THE CABIN Start to Finish Chapter 4 DOORS From the TOOL BOX 1. DOOR and double click. This will open the default settings. 2. I used the wood entrance doors click. 3. D1 Entrance Side Select PRE View to change from 2D to the 3D view of the door. 5. Parameters. 6. Door Panels I selected style Finally under opening handle in and out I selected handle 1. Again under parameters: change threshold, change to normal threshold. Click OK. 9

10 Hover over the lower left corner until a blue line appears. This sets the origin. Type in X to open the tracker box, type +6+ to move in the positive X direction 6 feet. A space will appear in the wall for the door opening. Move the mouse inside the house and to the left to set the swing of the door to the left. Click with the mouse and a left hung door will be set in place. You will notice that a door schedule marker and number will be place in the door swing at the same time. Doors can be set by centers, right, or left edge by changing the settings in the default settings box. Doors can also be edited by selecting them with the arrow tool. After the door is selected click on the nodes with the mouse will bring up the PET PALETTE edit tools. If you select a grip point on the door you can move, rotate, mirror elevate, stretch, or copy the door using the pet palette. PET PALETTE Let s add another exterior door in the back. 1 from the TOOL BOX double clicks on DOOR. 2 select WOOD ENTRANCE DOOR. 3 select the D1 entrance. 4 select the preview options 3D. 5 Add a normal threshold. Then select from door panel the same door style that we placed in the front of the house. When you have everything selected click OK 10

11 Make sure that the tracker icon is turned on then hover over the intersection of the outside wall and the interior wall. A blue line will appear to mark an reference point origin type in the letter X the tracker box will open allowing you to type in We are moving in the negative direction along the X axis. A hole will be created in the exterior wall. Move the mouse to the inside of the house and exaggerate the swing of the door to the left to place the door in the wall. Once again a door maker appears with the next number. Lets make an interior door to the bathroom next. This time we will not need the threshold. 1. From the Tool Box double click DOOR to open the default settings 2 Select the interior doors. 3. Select door D1 4. Change the size of the door to Last of all let s make all the doors match by changing the door panel to the standard 5. When everything is set click on OK. 11

12 Hover over the wall until the midpoint mark appears then click to place the door. Move the mouse into the bath-room and set the swing of the door. AT this point I like to save the drawing. I use the SAVE AS to create a new file. That way if for some reason the computer freezes, I only lose one lesson or days work. I can always go back to the previous lesson the open the old file. I am saving the drawing as CABIN 2. Take a look at your cabin in the 3D view before we move on to windows. 12

13 ArchiCAD Easy Start THE CABIN Start to Finish Chapter 5 WINDOWS 1. Double click on WINDOW from the Toolbox. 2 Select gliding windows. 3 selected gliding 2 4 Set the height 5 Set the width. 6 If you would like to add shutters select a style. Click OK To place the window hover over the front left corner until a blue line appears this marks the origin, type in Y and the track box will open. Type +4+ to move Y in the up or positive direction. A space is created inside the wall for the window. Move the mouse to the outside to place the orientation of the window then click. A window will be placed with the marker and number for the window. ORIENTATION 13

14 Place another window in the front wall 6 feet from the left corner. Hover over the corner until the blue line appears then type in X -6+ for the correct placement. Place a smaller gliding window in the bathroom. We need to change the height and width for the new window. From the Tool Box this time just single click WINDOW. Since we are using the same type of window and only need to change the size we can do that from the main screen. 1. Change the 5 feet to 3 feet for the height 2. 3 feet for the width Place the window in the bath area. The final window will be placed in the kitchen area. We will use a glider again and set the height to 3-6 and the width to 3. I will place the window down 5 feet from the top left corner. Hover over the corner type in Y -5+ then set the orientation and placed the window. This finished the windows. Be sure to SAVE AS to make a new file for the cabin 14

15 ArchiCAD Easy Start THE CABIN Start to Finish Chapter 6 DOOR AND WINDOW SCHEDULES While we have been working on the floor plan ArchiCAD is keeping track of everything we are working on. A door and Window schedule was created and is updated each time we enter a new door or window. Let s take a look at the schedule. In the NAVIGATOR under project map find schedules, element, door and window schedule. Double click to open the schedule. All of the doors can be edited from the schedule. ie. Marker number changed or locks added. 15

16 ArchiCAD Easy Start THE CABIN Start to Finish Chapter 7 KITCHEN In this lesson we will design a kitchen for your cabin 1. OBJECT 2. Kitchen cabinet 3 Cab Base Corn C. 4 is the selection point that we will use to attach the corner of the cabinet to the interior corner of the kitchen. Try moving the insertion point to other points on the cabinet. You are also able to rotate the cabinet in the preview. 5 I like to see the end lines of the cabinet so I turn on both. 6 Sink and Tap change to none. Under the Door Knob Tap and Sink Styles select the style you like. When you selection is complete click on OK. 16

17 1. Select the rotation on screen. 2. To place the cabinet, select the inner corner of the top left wall and wait for the check mark. The check mark lets you know that you are placing the cabinet on the inside corner. Click once to place the corner rotate to the correct angle then click again to place. Place a sink under the window next. Remember to select the same door front. I used tap type 6. Place the sink next to the corner cabinet. Our next task will be placing a dish washer next to the sink. 1 TOOL Box, click on OBJECT. 2 Open the file named kitchen household. 3 select dishwasher 4 in the preview box rotate the dishwasher 17

18 and change the insertion point to the upper left corner. This will place the dishwasher in the correct orientation. Click OK and placed the dishwasher. Finish the kitchen with the GAS Range and add a refrigerator from the same file. I have added a small cabinet between the stove and fridge as well as one on the top wall. It is time to take a look at the 3D view. Using the marquee tool draw a box around the kitchen area. Press the f5 key. This will place the marquee area into 3D. When you finish, return to the 1 st floor. As you noticed, we need to extent the counter top over the dishwasher and stretch the dish washer to the 3 foot level. 18

19 From the 1 st floor view select the sink cabinet with the arrow tool. Then click on the chair to open the default settings. Look for cabinet overhang to left and type in 2 feet. Notice this is the same place that you can extend the backsplash, or change any other characteristics of the cabinet. Click OK If you cabinet moves find any corner marker and select it with your mouse. A pet pallet will open, select the move arrow and move the cabinet back into place. This will extend the countertop over the dish washer. 19

20 ArchiCAD Easy Start THE CABIN Start to Finish Chapter 8 BATHROOM As you can see I have a nice large space for the bathroom. Let s start with the tub. From the TOOL BOX select 1 OBJECT. This time, rather than searching for the tub: 2. Open the library find box. 3 Enter Tub, A list of all the tubs will appear from the library 4. Bath tub corner. After placing the tub lets place the water closet and vanity. They are found in the same folder as the tub. I am not pleased with the window placement. I need to move the window. With the arrow tool select the window. You can tell it is selected when it turns green. Click on a node to move the window up 3 feet. 20

21 Additional bath accessories can be added form the bathroom accessories folder. 21

22 ArchiCAD Easy Start THE CABIN Start to Finish Chapter 9 ZONES The ZONE TOOL will be used to label room plus give you a lot more information. 1. Double click on ZONE from the tool box. 2. Name the room I have chosen GREAT ROOM. 3. Zone height Text. 5. OK. 1 From the default settings select the second option inside wall. Click inside the living space for the software to start the calculations. 3. When the hammer appears click in the location where the marker is to be placed. 22

23 The name and square footage is placed in the rooms. Select: From DOCUMENT SCHEDULES AND LISTS ZONE LISTS BASIC A report is created The text tool can also be used to place notes or any additional labels. 23

24 ArchiCAD Easy Start THE CABIN Start to Finish Chapter 10 SLABS Welcome to the world of SLABS. Slabs are used anytime you need a flat horizontal surface. For this assignment we will use the slab to create a floor. 1. Double click on the SLAB icon in the TOOL BOX. This will open the Slab Default Settings. 2. To set the correct slab thickness, enter 1 NOTE: slabs start at the base or 0 story setting, and are constructed down. Wall and other objects start at the 0 story line and go up. 3. Model material. On top of the slab enter a flooring material. I have selected carpet blue, feel free to select any material you like. 4. Enter a material to band around the edge of the slab. This material should match your exterior material. 5. The last material is the color added to the bottom of the slab I have selected paint white. 6. Click OK to start drawing the slab. 24

25 2. Select the geometry method. 3. Move the cursor towards the upper left corner you will see a check mark when the computer has found the outside corner. 4. Click once then move to the bottom corner to complete the slab. Have a look at the generic perspective. 5. When you are finish return to 1st floor. Save you project. Slabs can be edited by selecting the slab and using the PET PALLET To add additional nodes, move nodes, or cutting holes in the slabs. To cut a hole in the slab: 1. Select the slab with the arrow tool. 2. Select the slab tool. 3. Geometry tool 4. Moving over the slab to where the hole will be located. Click to start the rectangle and click again to end it. A hole will appear. We do not want to keep this hole in this location so after you have completed the task use the undo to remove the hole. 25

26 ArchiCAD Easy Start THE CABIN Start to Finish Chapter 11 ELECTRICAL Let s start with the duplex outlets. 1. OBJECTS 2. Open BASIC ELECTRICAL folder. 3. Duplex outlet. 4. Set the input node on the line outlet. We are now ready to place the outlets. Remember one is required every 12 feet of wall length and all walls over 2 feet need an outlet. Next add the lights. Look in the TOOL BOX under Lamp to find a great selection of 3D lights. The center if the light is a good node for placement. Select switches and add the required switches to the plan 26

27 Add additional electrical objects to finish the house. I have added fans, smoke detectors, phone, & breaker box. 27

28 ArchiCAD Easy Start THE CABIN Start to Finish Chapter 12 ELECTRICAL KEY We will now create an ELECTRICAL OBJECT KEY. 1. In the Navigator, find Object inventory. 2 Find all the objects that are electrical components and place them on a common layer. I have selected the A-Lite layer. 3 When all the components are on the A-Lite layer click on Scheme Settings. A new box is generated. 1 change to layer 2 change to A-lite, 3 OK A new schedule is generated with a list of all the electrical components. 28

29 1. Type in Electrical Object Inventory Key. Right click on object inventory in the NAVIGATOR and a fly-out will open. Select (Save view and place on layout, alt = 7) selecting this option will save the new Electrical Key to the Layout book. The layout book will open to the title page. Place the new key on that page for now. We will move it to the correct page after the electrical page is created. Following the same steps we can generate charts for any type of object that we have placed in the plan. 1. To change the name on the marker. 2. Settings 3. Custom 4. ELECTRICAL KEY The key will now look like this. 29

30 ArchiCAD Easy Start THE CABIN Start to Finish Chapter 13 DIMENSIONS In this chapter we will look at three ways to place dimensions on the drawing. 1. Select the DIMENSION tool from the TOOL BOX. 2. A-Dims is the layer we will be working on. 3. You need to select a horizontal, vertical or 4. Aligned orientation. With you mouse hover over the front left corner. The blue line will indicate when the computer has found the edge. Click on the edge to place the first BULLS EYE Move to the center of the door. The blue line again will indicate the center point. Click to place the next BULLS EYE. The window center is next, move to the outside corner. Pull away from the wall and the Pencil will turn white. Click once to end dimensioning. 30

31 The hammer will now show. Select the location for the dimensions, click once to place the dimension. You may also have ArchiCAD place all the dimension with one click. I do not like to show this feature until the students understand how to place the dimensions the old fashion way. 1. Arrow 2. Select the plan. 3. Documents 4. Document Extras 5. Automatic Dimension 6. Exterior Dimensioning 31

32 1. Object center for framing or object endpoints for concrete. 2. Select all options. From the command line you will be asked to show a dimension direction. Draw h horizontal line. From the command line you will be asked to select a location of the first row of dimensioning to be placed. A hammer is used for the build tool. Click to show the location. All Dimensions are added 32

33 ArchiCAD Easy Start THE CABIN Start to Finish Chapter 14 ROOF From the TOOL BOX 1. ROOF TOOL 2. Select the POLYROOF. 3. Starting at point (3) watch for the pencil to confirm you have found the corner. Continue clicking at each corner around the house until you return to point 3. When the roof is complete the PolyRoof Settings box will pop up. Set the pitch to 12 in 12 and the Eave Overhang to 2 feet. Click on OK and your roof is complete. 33

34 From the 3D view we can see that the cabin has a hip roof. We need to change that to a gable on each end. With the arrow tool select the hip in the front then holding the shift key select the second hip in the back then delete both hips. 34

35 Select the hip on the right Move the mouse to a point on the highlighted green line and click. The pet pallet will open allowing you to add a new node. Stretch the new node back to form a rectangle with the roof. Repeat the same step for the other side. Move the corner nodes until you have two rectangular roofs. 35

36 From the general perspective view select the front wall then change the height to 22 this will increase the height of the wall above the roof. Right click to open the new palette select TRIM to ROOF. The TRIM to ROOF palette will open select TRIM and the wall will be trimmed to the roof line. Repeat the same for the back wall. The cabin is now complete with a gable roof. 36

37 ArchiCAD Easy Start THE CABIN Start to Finish Chapter 15 FOOTING AND FOUNDATION f From the DESIGN TOOL open and find the Story Settings. C 1 Find the Insert Below and click once. 2 A new story opens below the main floor. Change the name to FOOTING 3 The ELEVATION will be Click OK. 37

38 1. Find and open the TRACE Icon. 2. Select Choose Reference. 3. Select Above Current Story. You will see a shadow of the first floor. All the points from the first floor will be accessible. The roof is also shown. I like to turn that layer off so I have a better view to the plan. Ctrl + L will open the Layers. All of the layers can be turned on or off at any time. 1. Look for the A-Roof layer and turn off the eyeball. NOTE: You will also notice that the layers can be locked, solid, or wire frame. OK 38

39 Double click on Wall from the TOOL BOX to open the Wall Default Settings. 1 Change the height to Change the width to 8 3. Under Structure change the cut fill to 25% fill. 4. Under model change the material to concrete light. Chain to match all sides of the wall. 5. Select the A-Wall EXTR for your layer. 6. Click on OK. 1. Note: you can change the wall from right to left or midpoint justification. You may need this feature depending on the direction you choose to construct the wall. A good point to remember is that the thick line should be to the outside of the house. 2. Select the chained wall for faster construction. 3. Hover over the top right corner, a check mark will appear when you have found the outside edge. A blue line will also help you keep the walls straight. Moving to the right and clicking on all 4 corners. As you return to the starting point a hammer will appear to close the walls. 39

40 From the 3D view we now have the footing attached to our cabin. You may also notice our roof is still turned off. We are now ready to attach a footing to the foundation. From the TOOL BOX select WALL 1. Wall default settings. 2. Change to 9 3. Change to Off-set width. 6. OUTLINES UNCUT LINE set line type to Dashed lines. 7. Model to concrete light 8 Click on OK. Draw the footing around the foundation. You should see 8 on the outside 8 under the foundation and 8 on the inside of the foundation walls. 40

41 The next step is to move the footing under the foundation so both the footing and the foundations are visible. 1. Selecting all the walls with the arrow tool. Holding down the SHIFT key will allow multiple selections. 2. Right click to open the Wall selection settings. Find DISPLAY ORDER. 3. SEND TO BACK The foundation will show up with the footing under shown as a hidden line This finished the concrete for the footing and foundation. 41

42 ArchiCAD Easy Start THE CABIN Start to Finish Chapter 16 INTERIOR KITCHEN ELEVATION 1. Double click on the INTERIOR tool from the TOOL BOX. 2. Reference ID to 1 3. Name to KITCHEN 42

43 1. Under first text row change to custom. 2. Custom text KITCHEN 3. View how the marker will look 1. Select the SINGLE LINE method of construction. 2. Draw a line from the outside of the cabin starting on the bottom to the outside on the top. 3. The standing point will be moved back to the right close to the wall but not touching the wall. 4. A marker will be placed in the kitchen area. 5. In the NAVIGATOR open INTERIOR VIEWS open KITCHEN then double click on 1 KITCHEN to see the new kitchen elevation view. This finished the lesson on interior elevations. Take the time to create additional elevation of the Bath or any other area. 43

44 ArchiCAD Easy Start THE CABIN Start to finish Chapter 17 CROSS SECTION From your 1 st floor make sure that you roof layer A-ROOF is turned back on. Remember you have quick access to the layers with the ctrl +L key. 1. From the TOOL BOX double click the SECTION tool. 2. Reference number 3. Name change to LONGITUDINAL 4. Click OK 1. Starting on the left side click to start the first node of the section line. 2. Move across and place the second node to end the section line 3. Enter elevation orientation and depth limit by dragging the line to the top outside of the cabin. Click once to end the section 4. In the NAVIGATOR under sections open by double clicking on Sections 3 LONGITUDINAL to see the new section view. 44

45 If your section line cuts through a place in back of the full elevation of the view and part of the lines are missing or hidden you can still show all of the lines by: 1. Opening the Section Selection by right clicking in the NAVIGATOR on the 3 longitudinal sections. Under the MODEL DISPLAY CUT ELEMENTS check the box uniform pen for Cut Elements. Regenerate the drawing to see the full elevation of the section. This completes the lesson on Sections. Feel free to create as many sections as you would like. 45

46 ArchiCAD Easy Start THE CABIN Start to finish Chapter 18 TJI FLOOR JOIST BEAMS We will be using a /8 TJI floor 16 on center (O.C.) Max. span Double click OBJECT from the TOOL BOX. 2. Select folder Wood Plastic folder 3. Web Joist. Joist I Joist. 4. Floor display Show on stories home and one story up. 5. Layer is A- BEAM 6. OK 1. Place the first TJI along the outside edge of the cabin. STRETEC to extend across cabin. 2. Select the beam and right click to open MOVE 3. Multiply 46

47 1. Click on SPREAD 2. Spacing to OK Select the first BEAM as a reference point and pull the mouse to the right. Every 16 a new BEAM will be placed across the cabin. NOTE: All BEAMS can be edited by selecting the dot on either end. You can stretch, Move rotate from the PET Palette. This finished the lesson on BEAMS. Using the ctrl + L keys turn off the eye on the A-BEAMS layer. We will turn it on again when we set up to print this page. 47

ROOF WIZARD Roof Wizard settings select parameters to fit your style 1. I selected the vertical trim 2. 2 O.C. 3. OK 48

49 From the LAYERS change the A-ROOF to wire frame to see through the roof. Check out the 3D view of the roof framing. This finishes the roof framing lesson. When you are finished, turn the A- ROOF layer back on to solid. 49

50 ArchiCAD Easy Start THE CABIN Start to finish Chapter 20 DETAILS You can create details by using details created in other CAD packages or by using geometry from your existing drawings. 55 1 From the NAVAGATOR select the LAYOUT BOOK. 2. Select 1 st floor and right click to open Layout settings 3 click on layout settings. Change the paper size to a ANSI C size. 1. Move to the VIEW MAP and double click on 1 st floor to open the main floor plan. Let s look at the various options we have to display our drawing. I will be using the construction documents. For a newspaper article you might want to select option presentation solid to show the walls as darker lines Take a moment to look at all of the 6 Options available. 55

56 To prepare the floor plan for printing we will need to turn some layers on and some layers off. Documents, Layers, layer settings or ctrl + L. When you have all the correct layers turned on Select Documents, Save View and Place of Layout. The Layout book will open the current page and you will be asked to pick an insertion point. Place the Floor Plan in the center of the page. Click on the Plan and a green placement rectangle will show up. Using the corner points, and PET PALETTE, move the green area onto the paper. 56

57 Your page is now ready to print. Repeat the same steps to set up the Layout Book and Save from the View Map. Until all of your drawings have been placed on a page and you are ready to 57

58 Before we can print our DETAIL or SECTION pages we need to create a page to place them on. In the LAYOUT BOOK right click on Details and open the pop up and click on New Layout. This will allow you to create a new page under each of the sections. Name change to Electrical Plan Master layout: to select paper size Create. 1. Return to the view Map. 2. Select the 1 st floor 3. Turn on A-LITE layer. Turn off all other layers that are not needed for the electrical plan. 58

59 From: Document, Save View and Place on Layout. Place the Electrical Plan on the Electrical Detail Page and adjust to fit the page. You now need to change the name from 1 st FLOOR to ELECTRICAL DETAIL OK From the LAY OUT BOOK Double click on cover sheet. Remember that is where we placed the electrical key object list. Edit cut then paste the key on the Detail electrical page. 59

61 ArchiCAD Easy Start THE CABIN Start to finish Chapter 23 WALK THROUGH Select a path you would like to follow through the house. You need to open all doors that you will be passing through. Select the doors to open with the arrow key. Open the door default settings and under Parameters look for 3D representation and turn on Op. Angle in 3D. This will open the doors in the 3D view. 61

62 From the TOOL BOX select the camera and place cameras around the house. You will see a path that mover around the house. Go inside the house and visit the kitchen area. From Documents open creative Imaging, then Create FLY Through. It is going to take a few minutes to create the fly through. You can now show the movie. The movie can also be saved to Movie Maker by clicking on Save. With Movie Maker any computer with Movie Maker should be able to play the movie. 62
