1 ARB Submittal Package Checklist This is not an all inclusive list, just some of the items that need to be considered before submitting your package to the ARB for review. Have you included sufficient information to portray a clear picture of what you are requesting approval for? (Not statements like: close in screen porch, landscape front yard, install as needed, to be determined, etc.) Are elevation plans with dimensions included in your package? If something is going to be painted and/or repainted is a color sample and description provided? If you have existing multiple colors on your home and on your submittal states, will match existing colors be specific which colors each item will match. It is best to spell each color out. Do drawings/sketches delineate all critical lines, setbacks, buffers, and adjoining properties? Did you include a dimensioned site plan showing location of structure you are proposing to install? Are all drawings large enough to be clearly read by ARB members? If you are requesting to remove and/or add anything close to a buffer/setback area have you indicated clearly on your site plan whether it is/is not in a buffer/setback/critical area? If you are requesting to install a fence have you stated what material and color will be used and provided a drawing and/or picture of the fence with height and spacing dimensions? Have you reviewed your plans, drawings and sketches, written documents, etc. to insure that there are no ambiguities? Submittals are approved and/or disapproved based on the way they are received. If you are doing any excavation (pool, walkway, patio, driveway, etc.) have you shown and/or stated where the removed material will be used/disposed? If acceptable material will be reused have you considered and stated what effect this will have on adjacent properties? Will this create a run off issue into wetlands and/or adjacent properties? Have you considered what effect your project will have on adjacent properties and how other residences (current and future) will be affected? If you have a protective dog(s) (they bite) on your property have you included this on your application and/or made arrangements to have them contained while ARB members and/or inspector visits your property? If you want to remove a tree or bush measuring 6" diameter or greater, your application needs a plat of your property showing the tree(s) location(s), type(s) of tree(s), and diameter of the tree(s) measured 2 feet above ground level. Some tree(s) require Town of Mount Pleasant approval also. See town ordinance for guidance.

2 EXTERIOR / PROPERTY CHANGE APPLICATION FOR REVIEW BY THE ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD The committee meets the 2 nd & 4 th Wednesdays each month at 5:00 pm. The Property Manager must receive submittals by Tuesday, one week prior to the meeting, at noon. Incomplete submittals will not be reviewed. Written notification of the approval/denial of the application will be sent out within a week after the meeting. Questions should be directed to the AMCS property manager, Jane Gottshalk, at (843) or brickyard@amcs-inc.com. Incomplete submittals will not be on the meeting agenda for review. The following items are required: Application form fully completed. The officially sealed & registered lot plat or survey documenting the footprint of the house and additions/changes requested. Pictures or sketches of proposed changes. Photographs of the property s existing condition $65.00-$ non-refundable inspection fee from homeowner based on scope of work (1 st check). See attached fee schedule. $300.00* refundable deposit, (2 nd check). *A $ refundable deposit (2 nd check) is required for new construction and docks. Make checks payable to Brickyard Plantation ARB. Once the project is complete, the final ARB inspection has occurred listing the project complete, and the ARB approval sign has been returned to the office by the property owner, the refund of the deposit will then be processed and mailed to you within 30 days. Projected start and completion date must be documented. 1

3 ARB SUBMITTAL CHECK LIST ** The property manager must receive complete applications on Tuesday, one week prior to the meeting, by noon. No exceptions will be made** Complete and submit application and attach required checks. The owner must submit checks and sign forms, not the contractor. Submit the officially sealed & registered plat of the lot showing the footprint of the house. Show proposed changes and dimensions. Submit photographs/drawings showing existing conditions where changes will be made. Submit drawings showing details of changes requested. Include pictures, product info, color samples, and renderings that will supplement the drawings. A detailed description of the type of construction and materials to be used should be on the drawings and schedule of materials. Pages 27 & 28 of the Covenants and Restrictions, dated July 7, 1995, mandate that the construction and improvement is consistent with the design of the principal residence and with the standards of construction prevailing in the subdivision. No contract is to be executed by the property owner until the application submitted is approved by the ARB. Any application for changes must meet all local applicable codes and land use controls. A building permit must be issued when required. The owner must be aware of all work activity required for change or construction, and how they are incorporated in construction management, i.e. wiring and finish of walls, ceiling, floors etc. Upon approval of the application submitted, you must pick up an ARB approval sign from the office. This sign must be displayed from start to finish of the project approved. Upon completion, the sign must be returned to the office. Otherwise a $50 fee will be deducted from the deposit. 2
