4 Suggested Specifications: Model ABV Furnish and install as shown on plans and/or schedules Model ABV Automatic by Automatic Airflow Balancing (AAB), Clearwater, FL. Unit shall respond to changes in duct pressure automatically without the need for power supply. All units shall incorporate a hand-operated manual set-point adjustment feature that facilitates field adjustment of flow rate set point without the use of tools, and allows adjustment while the automatic balancing valve is installed. All set points shall operate within ±10% of airflow set point. Individual set points shall be laboratory calibrated and verified through testing in accordance with AMCA 00-D-12. Each ABV shall be manufactured of reinforced thermoplastic resins and shall be classified per UL 2043 and must be labeled as such. Each unit shall be rated for use in air temperature ranging from 2 F to 10 F. All automatic balancing valves shall incorporate Steri-Balance antimicrobial agent to prevent organic growth. Each ABV shall utilize a hydraulic blade dampener to prohibit blade rattle. ABV valves shall be provided with a full circumference rubber gasket to provide tight seal when inserted in round duct, or for tight sealing when used in conjunction with an accompanying quick-connect adapter ring in square duct applications. The ABV is bi-directional and can always be flipped around from supply to exhaust applications, or vice versa, and re-secured within the neck of the sheet metal boot.
