CADvent is an object-oriented AutoCAD application with a complete toolbox for drafting, dimensioning, calculation, quantification and presentation of complete HVAC installations. An extensive palette of settings gives the software flexibility to customise to fit any needs, but if you want to get started at once the program is ready to run without changing any settings at all. Drafting is done in 3D, views can show both 2D and 3D, perspective and sections. The program handles construction of round, rectangular and flat-oval systems, and has a complete design palette for piping. Collision checking and dynamic layer structures are included, as are smart functions for editing and moving. Design The functions for design include dimensioning and calculations, and are the market s most extensive and advanced toolbox. Ducts can be dimensioned based on constant static pressure, maximum friction and speed, or according to the 30 % method. Calculations can be done globally for the entire project or based on components, including factors like air flow, required pressure, noise, leakage etc. Balancing and flow simulation of existing systems are a central calculation function. Interactive object analysis and multi-layer calculation are other examples of CADvent s calculation toolbox. Quantification and presentation The functions for quantification include a material list total or per floor/zone, and a materials specification.
