This area together with the abandoned village of Tyneham, requisitioned by the MOD in 1943, is in the middle of the Lulworth Ranges used by the Gunnery School, so availability is restricted primarily to weekends and Bank Holidays. Additionally because of the risk of unexploded ordnance access is restricted to clearly defined routes and areas.
