5 Main report The Munster Juniors Chess Championships (ODD age groups) were held in The Kilmurry Lodge Hotel in Limerick city on Sunday, -November, 0. Up to 70 entries were taken (0+ were hoped for), and a few couldn't make it on the day. Limerick City old and new public Every year since 00, The Munster Junior Chess Committee (MJCC) has run Munster Provincial Chess tournaments, but this year an odd ages one was run for the very first time. The age groups included u7s, u9s, us, us, us, u7s, u9s. Munster and non-munster winners: Only Munster resident players could win a title, but any non-munster player finishing ahead of a Munster prizewinner was entitled to a prize. Special thanks to the Munster Junior Chess Committee (MJCC) for all their help going back several months Mary O'Donovan, Sean Phillips, Ryan Fitzgerald, Keith O'Rahilly, Mikhail Ramendik, Gabriel Mirza and John Alfred. Equipment, chess sets and clocks were provided by John Alfred, who also controlled the event. Players came from all over Munster; Limerick, Cork, Newcastle West, Adare, Ennis, Cloghjordan, Mallow, Shannon, etc Age groups u's, u's, u7's and u9's were combined in one section due to low numbers. Keith O'Rahilly, MJCC Children's Officer, presented the prizes. Many thanks to Mary O'Donovan and Ryan Fitzgerald who supplied the photos.
