3 NAVY ENLISTED OCCUPATIONAL STANDARD FOR ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN, SUBMARINE, COMMUNICATIONS (ETR) SCOPE OF RATING Electronics Technicians, Submarine, Communications (ETR) operate and maintain electronic equipment used for detection, tracking, recognition and identification, communications, cryptographic operations, communication security, and Electronic Warfare (EW); operate and maintain General Purpose Test Equipment (GPTE) and auxiliary equipment; operate, monitor, and control Information Systems (IS) in support of the worldwide telecommunications network; perform assigned mission organizational level maintenance and repair of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) Systems; and stand watch on related equipment. This Occupational Standard is to be incorporated in Volume I, Part B, of the Manual of Navy Enlisted Manpower and Personnel Classifications and Occupational Standards (NAVPERS 18068F) as Chapter 32.
