You will have to put effort into the book and only the major defenses are covered as White. Like most of chess books, a short chapter of theoretical explanation then endless of games analysis, move by move, piece by piece. You will soon lose yourself in different challenges during chess game, and forget you're reading a blitz chess opening repertoire book. The Alekhine Defence is a good choice for blitz open as black (the major topic of this book), but I would rather like to read the GAMBIT book "Play the Alekhine" written by Valentin Bogdanov, to learn this opening with more detail opening knowledge.
