2 Fittings Introduction Pegler Yorkshire hs upgrded the Kuterlite K900 rnge to Kuterlite K900-PRO As prt of our continuous improvement nd development progrmme we hve studied the performnce of compression fittings in the mrket nd found certin pplictions where chnges could further improve performnce. With the intention of providing premium performnce, Pegler Yorkshire hs sustntilly incresed the engineering sfety fctors in the Kuterlite K900-PRO product, principlly the criticl design chrcteristics of the compression nut. Kuterlite K900-PRO fittings re comptile with the following types of tue nd pipe. n Copper tue to BS EN 1057 n Tectite PEX or other PEX pipe to BS 7291 prt 3 n PB pipe to BS 7291 Prt 2 n XPress Cron steel system tue or other cron steel tue to EN sizes up to 28mm n Tectite 316 system tue or other stinless steel tues to EN sizes up to 28mm Professionl instlltion tips To ensure tht these fittings enjoy long servicele life, they must e correctly instlled. Do not over-tighten nuts A mtrix is provided t our wesite: to help the instller pply the correct mount of torque. This is expressed s prtil or whole turns of the nut, nd vries depending upon the type of pipe eing used. Do not contminte Tke cre not to contminte the threds or nuts with jointing compounds. Use prllel threded dptors This will help to void stressing the femle threded ends. Kuterlite K900-PRO fittings re mnufctured to exceed the requirements of BS EN n Kuterlite K900-PRO is recommended for ll pplictions where K900 ws previously recommended including specilist res such s chilled wter Use the correct size spnner K900-PRO nuts re designed to fit the most common metric spnner sizes. An ccurtely set djustle spnner cn lso e used. Compressive gripping devices with serrted jws (e.g. Stilsons) must never e used to instll Kuterlite fitting. Apply some light oil For fittings over 35mm pply few drops of light oil on the threds of the fitting. Use est prctice Avoid contct with chemicls nd chemicl compounds tht could cuse stress corrosion crcking. Instllers should either stisfy themselves tht such chemicls re not present in the environment round the nut, or tke cre to isolte the pluming pipe, vlves nd fittings from such sustnces, for instnce y wrpping in vpour rrier or pplying impermele pints. 2
