2 WASUR NATIONAL PARK Established on 7 April 2014 with total area hektar Transfly ecoregion This plain area dominated by seasonally and permanently swamp, also coastal area at the southern. Supporting waterbird life (migratory and resident waterbird) Designated as an EAAFP site in Indonesia on 1996 (site no. EAAF008)
3 CRITERION OF EAAFP SITE Internationally important area for migratory waterbird : Numenius minutus, N. madagascariensis, and also Black-necked stork (App 1 CITES), crane transfly, magpie goose. Trans fly area for more than 5000 waterbirds (about 6900 birds from 25 specieses find in Wasur) Magpie goose Black-nacked stork Pelican

5 CHALLENGES Land use change around the buffer area of national park Leading degradation and essential habitat loss, to be a new man-made habitat and more population of birds fly out from natural habitat in Wasur to those new habitats.
6 Illegal hunting / killing Occured in or outside of national park. New feeding ground like paddy field will be stimulate many of water birds landed and occupied field as pest and this will lead into the killing by hunts, traps and poisoning. MAGPIE GOOSE
7 Human disturbances Fishing with fishnet Temporary selters like bivouac of local people near the birds habitat Human distrubances Waste (plastics) Pesticide usage and residue in paddy field
