In 2016 Atlanta Audubon Society launched the inaugural Atlanta Bird Fest, inspired by the idea that fellowship through birds can build a fullyengaged and conservation-minded Georgia. Since then, Atlanta Bird Fest has grown into the Southeast's largest bird and nature festival, with hundreds of participants enjoying a month-long selection of more than 35 bird- and nature-focused events each spring. 3 ABOUT ATLANTA AUDUBON Since 1973, we've built places where birds and people thrive through conservation, education, and advocacy. Each year, Atlanta Audubon offers more than 150 free field trips in and around metro Atlanta. Thousands of Atlantans have learned the joy of birds and birdwatching through our free programming. By 2020, Atlanta Audubon will have educated more than 10,000 local students. These programs prepare the next generation for the environmental challenges they will face in the future... all through the lens of birds. Atlanta Audubon is restoring public green spaces throughout metro Atlanta for the benefit of birds and people alike. Healthy habitats invite exploration and appreciation of nature in all neighborhoods.
