3 Financials The Pelican Harbor Seabird Station is a 501 C(3) non-profit. We strive to keep our fundraising and administrative costs to a minimum, so that we can stretch our dollars and provide the best care possible. Roughly one third of our revenue come from foundations, with the balance coming in from individual donors. The new 1,911 sq. ft. building will double the size of our current facility. The architectural plans are complete and permits are pending with the county.

5 Release back into the wild - our ultimate goal

6 Mission - Pelican Harbor Seabird Station is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of sick, injured or orphaned brown pelicans, seabirds and other native wildlife; and the preservation and protection of these species through educational and scientific means.

7 During 2015, the Seabird Station Reached over 5,750 students and residents through tours, presentations and community events. Provided hands-on professional training for over sixty volunteers and interns, who collectively logged 8,330 hours. Hosted a record crowd of 340 attendees at the Pelican Party Annual Gala! Mark your calendars the 2017 Pelican Party will be held on Saturday, April 22 at the Miami Shores Country Club.

8 How our patients arrive Transport by private citizen (roughly 60%) If a bird or animal is contained and it s during rush hour, the services of Uber are utilized to transport patients to us (roughly 5%) Pickup in our emergency wildlife ambulance (roughly 35%) Special thanks to the Folke Peterson Foundation for partially funding our ambulance driver and covering the costs of the ambulance graphics.
