4 Kinta Nature Park The Kinta Nature Park is only recently gazetted after more than a decade of efforts by MNS. This is an exmining land that is well known for its large heronries.

7 Kinta Nature Park Key Species: This is one of the first important sight for the 5 herons to breed in a heronry in Perak, including Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea), Purple Heron (Ardea purpurea), Black-crowned Night-Heron (Nycticorax nycticorax), Little Egret (Egretta garzetta) and Cattle Egret (Bubulcus ibis).

10 Malim Nawar Malim Nawar wetlands is an ex-mining area that is vast in size which a large part of it is now threatened by sand mining or became less accessible due to extensive fencing by local farmers.

12 Malim Nawar Key Species: This is the best site to spot rare migratory ducks in Perak. During AWC in recent years, rare ducks such as Tufted Duck (Aythya fuligula), Northern Shoveler (Anas clypeata), Northern Pintail (Anas acuta) were counted.

18 Ulu Dedap & Sg Buaya Key Species: Lesser Adjutant (Leptoptilos javanicus) This globally VULNERABLE species is best found here within Perak. The area is also important for Asian Openbill (Anastomus oscitans) and Intermediate Egret (Mesophoyx intermedia), with both species found in largest concentration here within Perak.

26 Kuala Gula Key Species: Milky Stork (Mycteria cinerea) This is the last natural breeding ground for the globally ENDANGERED species in Malaysia. Perhilitan and Zoo Negara is currently working on reintroducing captive bred birds back to thewild.

28 Bidor Key Species: Grey-headed Lapwing (Vanellus cinereus) This is one of the earliest sites in Perak where this species that was once scarce were seen in sizeable numbers.
