1 E Wet processing recipes The company applying for license for Good Environmental Choice (Bra Miljöval) shall before Part E is sent to the production unit using textile chemicals and dyes in the wet processing, enter their own company name and the name of the product/product group the material(s) is related to. Name of the company applying for license Name of product/product group concerned by the below information Part E is filled in by the production unit using textile chemicals and dyes in the wet processing. The Licensee shall attach requested certificates and other documentation. By request of the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation, the production unit must be prepared to provide documentation that verifies the information stated in Part E. A textile chemical or dye is defined as an element, chemical compound or a mixture of these. All textile chemicals and dyes have commercial names. Wet processing means that the textile material has been further refined e.g. through bleaching, dyeing, printing, softening etc. Textile chemicals and dyes used in the production of the licensed product/product group must fulfil the criteria in Good Environmental Choice - Textiles This text is a translation. The Swedish version always prevails. Company name of production unit

2 Chemicals and dyes contained in recipes For the wet processing steps where chemicals and dyes are used in processing of textiles, information about recipes used must be attached. This information can be sent directly from the production unit to the Swedish Society for the Nature Conservation without the licensee acting as intermediator. In the event of an inspection the production unit must be prepared to provide the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation, current recipes, to ensure that no chemicals other than those declared are used. Part of production: Production of yarn Production of fabric Pretreatment Dyeing Printing Finishing, (impregnation, coating, lamination) Treatment of garment Treatment, other Example of division of textile chemicals and dyes (main function): Oil for spinning knitting etc Detergent Stiffening agent Warp size Bleaching agent Softener Enzyme Salt Resin Wetting agent Optical Brightener Wax Anti-foaming agent Dye Coating paste Surfactant, other Pigment dye Adhesives, binding agent ph-adjuster Binder for printing Other additive Complex agent Thickening agent Acid Alkali

3 Information about contents of recipes Below table is available as a separate part, Appendix Part E. One table must be completed for each stage of production (see breakdown on previous page) and all the textile chemicals and dyes contained in the product must be declared. The table shall indicate commercial name, supplier, the main function of the textile chemical / dye, and in which processing stage it is used. Enclosed safety data sheets (MSDS) and parts of the application documents which contain information about each individual textile chemicals / dyes shall be indicated in the table. In those cases where GOTS-approved textile chemicals and dyes are used, certificates must be attached. In order to qualify for Good Environmental Choice Class I, Part J and the document that information in that document is based on must have been completed and attached. If several different suppliers are used, the textile chemical/dyes must be entered into the table several times.
