At the end of this fun project, you will not only have a cute BUTTON OWL, you will also be able to tell your friends that you know how to SEW ON BUTTONS! SIZE: About 7cm (2 3/4") high and 6.5cm (2 1/2") wide. COLOR: It is up to you! YOU WILL NEED: Fabric, solid-colored, 15cm x 10cm (6" x 4"); Fabric, patterned, 15cm x 10cm (6" x 4"); Sewing thread, in a color matching the solid-colored fabric; 2 buttons,each with two holes for the eyes (approximately 1.3cm (1/2") in diameter); Wool stuffing; A pencil; A needle; Sewing pins; A tooth pick; A ruler; Construction paper; Glue; and Scissors. 8 Step 6: Debut of the Owl! (A) Trim around the tip of the body. Be careful not to cut any stitches! (This is to make a nice pointy tip when turned right-side out.) (B) Pin the beak in place and sew the tip onto the body with a few small stitches. (C) I recommend pinning the bottom edges to give easier access to where you are sewing. 9 Step 8: Stuffing (A) Stuff the owl with wool stuffing! Make it as firm or fluffy as you like. Step 9: Almost there! I love snorkeling! (A) Make sure the seams of the opening are nicely folded inward. Pin the opening closed. (B) Using the Ladder Stitch, sew the owl closed. Make a finishing knot and cut the thread.
