In this wood-to-wood construction, the pieces bond on a microscopic level that increases the strength of the cabinet. A cabinet is built, packed and shipped as a unit, doors and drawers intact, ready to be installed. We Simply Don t Cut Corners! 52 Strongest Box Available Any box is only as strong as the number of sides it has. Take away any one side - or two - and its structural integrity is immediately compromised. We start with furniture-grade plywood on the bottom and sides, then add a full, solid plywood panel on the back, I-beams on the tops of all base cabinets, and a solid hardwood frame on the front. With these additional structural components, we ensure that every CliqStudios cabinet has all six sides, just like a strong, true "box" should. All-Plywood Construction Full-Height Back Panel I-Beams Hardwood Face Frame Plywood has more holding power with screws, fasteners and glue than particleboard does. It also has a much higher tolerance for moisture, a key feature to consider for areas with sinks, faucets and other water. Plywood is much more resistant to blowouts, dings and dents. Cabinet back construction affects strength and ease of installation. A solid, full-height panel allows cabinets to be directly attached to wall studs at any point on the cabinet back. Since the strength of the plywood extends from top to bottom and side to side, there is no need for hanging rails. Secured into the upper sides of base cabinets and fully captured on all four sides, I-beams are a critical part of cabinet construction. I-beams keep cabinets square and true during shipping and installation, and greatly add to the long-term strength of the cabinet box itself. Framed cabinets have a solid hardwood frame attached to the front of the cabinet box. Door hinges and drawer glides are attached to the frame. This frame provides stability to help keep the cabinet box square during shipping and installation. 52

53 Furniture Quality Details When most people think of furniture, cabinetry may not always come to mind. However, real cabinetry built using quality wood and by skilled craftsmen just as much a piece of furniture as your couch or coffee table. That's why we take the time to make every CliqStudios cabinet with the kind of details found on any premium home furnishings. Hardwood Dovetail Drawer Boxes Thick, 5/8-inch solid maple or birch sides meet at dovetail joints, where the strength of the joint comes from the wood itself. A strong plywood drawer bottom, fully captured on four sides in dado (grooved) joints, is glued and nailed in place. Undermount, Soft-Close Drawer Glides Rated to support up to 90 pounds, glides extend to provide full access to the entire drawer. Ball bearings and steel guides provide smooth operation, and long wear. We use TANDEM plus BLUMOTION drawer glides by Blum the hardware industry leader. Soft-Close Hinges The soft close mechanism is built into the nickel plated, hardened steel hinge, which is adjustable six ways so that the hinges can be adjusted when cabinet doors expand and contract during seasonal changes.
