1 AP World History Summer Assignment (2014) The following items must be completed. You will be graded on completion and neatness. This assignment is due on the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL. Follow the format specified in Part I and II. Failure to do so will result in the loss of points. Do not plagiarize. This includes copying info from other students or the internet. If you plagiarize, you have then earned a ZERO on this assignment that is worth roughly 10% of your grade which can prevent you from getting an A. Part I: AP World History Themes As opposed to attempting to look at all of the details of World History, AP World History takes a broad, thematic approach to history. Listed below are the themes of the course sorted by topic. AP WORLD HISTORY IS STRUCTURED AROUND FIVE COURSE THEMES IN VARIOUS AREAS OF HISTORICAL INQUIRY. 2 Assignment: a) Define/describe what the theme means. This will involve you doing research and creating an acceptable answers. There is no one right answer. DO NOT COPY AND PASTE. Some of the themes are complex so you will need to break them down and explain a little more. b) Give an example of the theme. Format your answers based upon the following example: (Failure to format in this manner will result in the loss of 15 points) 1. Flora Diffusion a) Definition - The spread of plants to locations of the world other than where they originated. b) Example Columbian Exchange (You can elaborate on this if you wish but it is not necessary) ITEM OF NOTE: You will complete the entire chart. You should complete this chart to the BEST of your ability. You will set the standard for excellence. Therefore, if you have very little filled in compared to the trend of what your classmates are providing, your grade will reflect that.. If you would rather do this in outline form, that is fine.
