27 March 2017 International Participation An international workshop on using ISO will be held in March 2017 in Swedish ISO will hold an International Workshop Agreement (IWA) meeting on Using ISO Guidance on social responsibility in management systems on 9-10 March 2017 at the Swedish Standards Institute (SIS). Ahead of the workshop, two information meetings via WebEx ( and ) as well as a preparatory meeting ( ) will be organized. A second IWA is also planned in April 2017 and the tentative dates are April This IWA aims to enable businesses and organizations to benefit from using ISO guidance on social responsibility in their existing management systems; promote ISO among management system standards users and promote the use of management systems to users of ISO For more information please contact varant.meguerditchian@standards.org.au. [An IWA is an ISO document produced through workshop meeting(s) and not through the technical committee process. Any interested party can propose an IWA and can participate in developing one. An ISO member body will be assigned to organize and run the workshop meeting(s) resulting in the IWA. Market players and other stakeholders directly participate in IWA and do not have to go through a national delegation. An IWA can be produced on any subject.] An international workshop on Sharing Economy will be held in March 2017 in Canada ISO will hold an International Workshop Agreement (IWA) meeting to develop an IWA on the Sharing Economy on March 2017 at the CSA Group in Ontario Canada. Ahead of the workshop, two information meetings via WebEx will be organized and dates will be confirmed in later January The purpose of this IWA is to develop a document through an international discussion (within the ISO structure) that provides a viable standardization solution or solutions on the challenges associated with the sharing economy. Discussions will be focused on for profit sharing economy business models that both disrupt traditional sectors and challenge (or attempt to reform) regulations governing activities in those sectors. The main objectives are to: foster the sharing of knowledge and best practices on meeting the challenges; support the development of innovative responses across multiple service sectors; and articulate high level principles for the sharing economy.
