2 Scenario High investments at international level Manufacturing is key for EU economy Additive manufacturing (AM) is one of the key enabling technologies that can provide new approaches to the direction of products and factories if the future. The digital revolution, together with the fabrication revolution, will enable Europe to bring production back, boosting innovation and creating sustainable growth. AM is a game changer Key technology with potential for creating sustainable high value based employment, addressing societal issues and supporting environmental sustainability. Exponential technology that can accelerate the transformation of the manufacturing industry to Industry 4.0 Disruptive changes/adaptation We need to face competition from USA, Japan, Australia, China

4 Scenario RIGHT NOW WE ARE MANAGING more than 20 AM projects were funded during , with at least 95 M in EC funding from different Working Programmes. 8 AM PLATFORM A community of European stakeholders of Additive Manufacturing A point of networking, reference and coordination: AM is fragmented. Lots of entities are working or doing research in this area but a coherent strategy and a coherent interpretation is needed. A place to be aware of latest advances, to start a discussion, to find expertise, or to up- or download an interesting paper or article. Its objective is to contribute to a coherent strategy, understanding, development, dissemination and exploitation of AM. Collaborates with FoF cppp to help to stablish priorities for the Working Programmes and strategies about AM/3DP Active since: 2006 (formerly as the RM-platform), created as a sub-platform of MANUFUTURE ETP FREE TO JOIN!

14 FoFAM: main objective FoFAM project takes up the challenge of reviewing the AM ecosystem and organize it around several value chains on relevant industrial sectors. The final aim is to put the 1 st steps for a plan of action in the field by designing an effective implementation map and facilitating interaction of players. For a complete success strategy not only technology stakeholders but also policy makers at European level but more importantly at local level should also be involved. In this sense, the project includes the involvement of European regions. 19 AM-Motion: main objective The overall objective of the AM-Motion CSA is to contribute to a rapid market uptake of AM technologies across Europe by connecting and upscaling existing initiatives and efforts, improving the conditions for large-scale, cross-regional demonstration and market deployment, and by involving a large number of key stakeholders, particularly from industry. Key technological capabilities and infrastructure (technology development and supply) Barriers and market failings to industrialisation and deployment (both technological and nontechnological) Key applications and markets Tools for integration /Models for business collaboration Links with regional, national, EU, Int. initiatives /policies By doing this, the AM-Motion project has the ambition to develop a strategy and set up the pillars for its efficient implementation that, ultimately, will contribute to reinforcing the European ecosystem of AM.
