3 WP6 Good Practice Toolkit In cooperation with dedicated task performers following documents were finalized: o Background paper for Public Communication Campaigns (Axel Budde, BZgA, Germany); o Background paper for School-based programs education (Wim Van Dalen, STAP, Nederlands); o Background paper for Early intervention services including brief advices (Lidia Segura and Jorge Palacio-Vieira of the Program on Substance Abuse of the Public Health Agency of Catalonia); o Definitions of Good Practices (Aleš lamut, NIJZ, Slovenia); o Questionnaire for Collecting the Good Practices (Sandra Radoš Krnel, NIJZ, Slovenia);
4 WP6 Good Practice Toolkit Questionnaire for Collecting the Good Practices was sent to WP6 partners for piloting in November In December 2014 we have started collecting the examples of good practices. 45 examples from 19 European countries were collected (20 Early interventions, 10 Public awareness and 15 School-based interventions) The Assessment Criteria were developed based on the criteria form of an existing Dutch system: o Basic level - theoretically sound; o First indication of effectiveness; o Good indication of effectiveness; o Strong indication of effectiveness.
5 WP6 Good Practice Toolkit We have organized the second WP6 meeting held in Dublin (Ireland), 22nd of January, 2015: o Collected examples of good practices and the respective methodology (Sandra Radoš- Krnel, NIJZ, Slovenia); o Dutch Recognition System for Interventions (Djoeke van Dale, the Centre for Healthy Living, Nederlands); o Criteria for quality assessment and classification (Wim Van Dalen, STAP, Nederlands) (Axel Budde, BZgA, Germany); o Guide/recommendations for good practice approaches/ implementation; o WP6 Timeline (Sandra Radoš-Krnel, NIJZ, Slovenia)

7 CNAPA Meeting Brussels April 2015 WP5 Task 1. Overview of current drinking guidelines Task 2. Overview of drinking guidelines of EIBI Task 7. Expert meeting A country report/questionnaire has been conceived, and developed by ISS, as an instrument for collecting/upgrading information on current low-risk drinking guidelines and on drinking guidelines used in the context of Early Identification and Brief Interventions. 31 EU countries involved 29 questionnaire received Results presented in the Expert Meeting organized in Rome by ISS 4 th November 2014
8 WP5 Good practice principles in the use of drinking guidelines as a public health measure WP5 has moved into a phase where background work done during 2014 feeds into a Delphi process with two separate expert groups and into a an online survey of consumer views, all to be carried out during April.2015
9 29.April.2015 WP5 RARHA Delphi survey on low risk drinking Anonymous online survey with experts designated by RARHA partners/cnapa members; objective: two experts per country. Focus on questions related to: o Formulation of guidelines on low risk drinking average regular alcohol intake not to be exceeded to reduce risk of harm; o Need for guidelines for specific groups or situations; o Types of health related information that could be conveyed to consumers on alcoholic beverage packages. The Delphi process is led by THL (FI) with help form core planning group: ISS (IT), HSE (IE), Eurocare; questions were developed with input from partners from half of the JA countries. End of April 2015: Round 1 of the Delphi survey about to start: o Experts designated from 24 countries 7 pending o 45 experts invited (27 accepted/logged in by 28 April). o Round 1 starts when all (or most) designated experts have logged in into the edelfoi platform.
10 29.April.2015 WP5 Guidance on reducing alcohol-related harm for young people Task led by LWL (DE). Qualitative messages (rather than amount of alcohol intake) with focus on risk reduction. Young people up to 25 years corresponds to definition of youth in the Action Plan on youth drinking and on heavy episodic drinking. Information collected on existing guidance was used to develop key statements and recommendations that will be submitted to a Delphi panel. The panel of experts comprises: o experts designated by CNAPA members request: four experts per country (2 researchers, 2 practitioners) o participants of RARHA work meeting in Münster, December End of April 2015: all together 61 experts designated from 20 countries Round 1 of the Delphi survey planned to start in mid-may.
11 WP5 Information & Alcohol survey of consumers views Task led by Eurocare. Online survey of consumers : o understanding of standard drink and low risk drinking, o sources of information on alcoholic beverages, o preferences regarding the provision of health related information on them. To be carried out in 16 countries by civil society organisations. Design of the survey developed in consultation with WP5 partners. The survey is being translated and will start in May. 29.April.2015

14 WP4 Task 1: Strengthening monitoring of drinking patterns and alcohol related harm across EU countries Pilot study completed in 18 countries; European database with approximately 800 records established Experiences of the pilot study summarised and draft revised version of the questionnaire for the main survey adopted during working meeting with participation of 32 partners from 20 countries, EMCDDA an NDPHS (Athens, 13, 14 March 2015)

18 WP4 Task 2: Analyses of Existing Survey Data on Alcohol Consumption and Related Harm 29.April.2015 Major achievements so far: Survey selection and description: o 24 surveys from 17 countries will be included in the European database o General description of selected surveys methodology and instruments. Collaboration agreement: o Formal agreement on data transfer, access to data, publications etc. Questionnaire map: o English translation of national alcohol and socio-demographic questions including response categories
19 29.April.2015 WP4 Task 2: Analyses of Existing Survey Data on Alcohol Consumption and Related Harm Major achievements so far: Development of European database/ codebook: o First variables for survey basics, alcohol measures and socio-demographics were created. Matching of variables: ovariables of national datasets are recoded into variables of common European dataset; ogeneral rules for recoding national variables were prepared; ocorresponding syntaxes are prepared and shared with national data holders.

22 WP3 Evaluation of the JA Timetable of WP3 Milestones & Deliverables CNAPA Meeting Brussels April 2015 The ESG is composed of the CNAPA representatives of Belgium, Croatia, Estonia, Hungary, Italy ESADE Business School, Ramon Llull University (Barcelona, Spain) has been appointed as RARHA external evaluator Deliverable 5 (available at RARHA website) has been timely submitted to CHAFEA after the preliminary approval of ISS and ESG The 1 st interim Evaluation Report presents the results of the first wave of the online survey among RARHA partners, conducted in November 2014, with the aim of following the progress of the JA and providing feedback on the implementation process = Done
23 WP3 Evaluation of the JA Summary of results of the 1 st evaluation survey CNAPA Meeting Brussels April 2015 The results collected in the 1 st interim Internal Evaluation Report has been presented in the course of the Management Group meeting, held in Brussels on the of April 2015, and will be circulated among partners in order to maximize the successful achievements of RARHA objectives. In general the implementation process of the first year of RARHA activities obtains a positive judgement by all partners involved at various levels; The JA is meeting its goals and progressing according to the Grant Agreement. Apart from very few delays, project deliverables were met and all foreseen commitments were respected. No particular difficulties or impediments seem to have influenced the correct course of the actions; In spite of this overall positive picture, a certain attention should be paid to enhance the professional exchanges among partners and the involvement in RARHA activities, in order to promote a better network cohesion and a working ethos more collegiate and productive; A continuous close watch by the project management team is also recommended, so as to ascertain the timely delivery of the outputs and their high quality, and to be sure that corrective actions are taken as early as possible.
