1 APPENDIX 1: Cognitive maps of 38 innovative PE cases As described in the Methodology section (2) of this volume, a content analysis of the 38 innovative PE cases was conducted by using the method of cognitive mapping. These maps provide a both a quick overview of the key issues and challenges of each of the cases studied; the maps also contain systematic diagnostics of the key components of each of the cases For a reader interested in the full descriptions of the 38 cases, they can be found in the following publication: Mejlgaard, N. and Ravn, T. 2 Map 1: PRIMAS Promoting inquiry in mathematics and science across Europe Aim: to promote a more widespread uptake of inquiry-based learning in mathematics and science education at both primary and secondary school levels in Europe
