Messe News October April 2014 Hannover Germany Integrated Industry NEXT STEPS... is the lead theme for HANNOVER MESSE It reflects the fair s focus on integration as a challenge of pivotal importance for the future of industry and maps out the next steps along the road to tomorrow s intelligent, self-organizing factories. Process automation striding ahead Several key market trends are helping automation providers grow their business with process manufacturers Netherlands as Partner Country at HANNOVER MESSE 2014 The Netherlands have been named as the HANNOVER MESSE 2014 Partner Country. Comprised mainly of niche SMEs, the mechanical and plant engineering sector is the growth engine of the Dutch manufacturing industry, with a particularly strong showing in the areas of renewable energy, energy efficiency and offshore wind energy. The Netherlands domestic market is very small, and so its economy is very much export driven. Which augurs well for its HANNOVER MESSE 2014 showcase with its central pavilion in Hall 3 and numerous activities and forums all around the exhibition venue. Accommodation service Did you know that Deutsche Messe can help you find accommodation in Hannover? Our free accommodation service can help you find hotel and B&B rooms. Deutsche Messe Selected Hotels, for instance, offer rooms at special rates during trade fairs. hotels.htm Process automation is a growth industry. While the German automation sector as a whole is looking at two percent growth for 2013, its business with the process industry worldwide is set to grow by three to four percent. That s according to the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers Association (ZVEI). Fracking, energy efficiency, life cycle cost analysis, modularization and Industry 4.0 these trends are currently driving growth in process automation, explains Felix Seibl, the head of the ZVEI s measurement technology and process automation division. Another key driver of growth is Germany s energy transition. Felix Seibl: Automation is one of the prime enablers of greater energy efficiency in process-intensive industries. This market trend is also gaining momentum in other countries. Axel Lorenz, the head of Process Automaton at Siemens s Industry Automation Division, agrees: Everyone s looking at energy efficiency. Lorenz also sees total cost of ownership and life cycle management as important factors in process manufacturing at the moment. And, thanks to our Integrated Engineering framework, it s an area where we have a lot to offer. Siemens, already a leading international provider of automation solutions for discrete manufacturing, is now growing its business in the process automation segment. According to Axel Lorenz, the main questions asked by customers from the process industry at the moment include, How can we achieve greater data consistency across our entire engineering process? and How can we improve resource efficiency and ergonomic factors in our operational process management? Felix Seibl sees life cycle cost analysis as vital to determining whether new efficiency technologies are worth the investment. What might at first seem to be the more expensive technology will often turn out to be the more cost-effective option over the long term. Mr. Seibl says Germany s process manufacturers are also looking to Industry 4.0 the total, ITbased networking of all links in the production chain as a way of keeping their competitive edge over lower-wage economies. Industry 4.0 will therefore feature strongly at 2014, particularly in the show s Industrial IT exhibition area, which will focus on server and Internet-based IT solutions for automation. Energy efficiency will also be high on the agenda most notably in the Efficiency Arena.

Page 2 October 2013 A first for the process industry: dedicated platform with exhibition space and workshops The Process Automation Place in Hall 11 will feature expert discussion on everything from pressure, temperature and level measurement to process analysis Premiere in 2014: next year, the Industrial Automation show will for the first time feature a central platform for all key process automation themes. Housed in Hall 11, the Process Automation Place will comprise exhibition space, workshops and discussions of future trends in the process industry. The platform will be organized by Deutsche Messe in association with the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers Association (ZVEI) and the international User Association for Automation in Process Industries (NAMUR). The Process Automation Place is an opportunity for automation providers to profile their offering in areas of key importance to the process industry. Industrial process instrumentation provider KROHNE will be running four lecture/workshop events at the platform: mass flow measurement for liquids with entrained gas and air, new efficiencies in process analysis instrumentation through the use of advanced microelectronics, selection criteria and practical applications for level measurement technology, and measurement solutions for increasing energy efficiency in the process industry. KROHNE PR Manager Jörg Holtmann explains: These topics address the kinds of problems that prompt users to seek out KROHNE products. For example, gas bubbles in liquid media can cause a whole raft of problems, particularly in sensitive dosing processes. They can cause mass flow measurement errors, which can lead to flow meter outages and, worst of all, bring the entire plant to a standstill for lack of the mass flow measurement signal needed for process control. KROHNE will be running a workshop on this very problem. Holtmann: Participants at the workshop on Mass flow measurement for liquids with entrained gas and air will learn how coriolis flow meters react to gas bubbles, what technologies are currently available, and how a reliable indication system for the presence of gas bubbles can enhance process reliability and integrity. The three other workshops KROHNE is organizing for the Process Automation Place will likewise deal with everyday process measurement issues and challenges. IMPORTANT: If you want to take part in the workshops, you need to make a firm booking in advance to secure your place. Exhibitor feedback on Michael Ziesemer, Member of the Executive Board, Endress + Hauser AG, Germany HANNOVER MESSE is totally geared towards Integrated Industry. It s fascinating to see how the industrial sector is re-inventing itself in order to keep pace with the world market. This is certainly true of our customers in the process automation sector. And Hannover is where we go to talk to them. Michael Brosig, Head of PR, JUMO GmbH & Co. KG, Germany: We are a medium-sized company, so HANNOVER MESSE is an ideal platform for getting our innovations and our extensive range of measurement, control, analysis and automation products in front of a wide international audience. Efficiency Arena: integrated dialogue Energy efficiency is a critical success factor in all industries. At HANNOVER MESSE 2014, the Efficiency Arena will once again feature a range of lectures and panel discussions on this vitally important topic. In the process industry, one of the main ways of conserving energy is to enhance production machine efficiency. And to achieve that, you first have to know how much energy those machines are consuming. This is the domain of enterprise energy management something which, for many companies, is vital to long-term survival. So much so, in fact, that in August 2013, the German government launched a subsidy program that pays up to 20,000 euros towards certification of company energy management systems and the acquisition of the necessary hardware and software. The aim of the program is to incentivize companies to step up their investment in energy efficiency measures. In 2014, the Efficiency Arena the central forum for energy efficiency in automation will focus on the following themes: Energy efficiency in factory automation Energy efficiency in process and energy automation Energy management systems and consulting Subsidies, funding, research Training, professional development, etc. New: Next year, for the very first time, you won t even have to be a HANNOVER MESSE exhibitor in order to use the Efficiency Arena to run presentations on your products, technologies and solutions. And if you register for the Arena by 20 December 2013, you ll benefit from our special early-bird rates. See the included information sheet for details and pricing.

Page 3 October 2013 High-efficiency pumps and pump systems Today s advanced pumps and pump systems are reliable and deliver high mechanical and energy efficiency. At HANNOVER MESSE 2014, providers of these innovative products will once again have a dedicated display area in Hall 15. The Pumpe DE PUMPplaza showcase for pumps, pump systems and components was a major success in 2013 and will be back at the upcoming HANNOVER MESSE with an expanded format. Providers of pumps, pump systems, actuators, measurement and control systems, fittings and valves will be able to use the showcase to present individual components, whole systems and turnkey solutions. The PUMPplaza will also have an on-site Business Lounge for low-key talks and video presentations. On 10 April 2014, the displays, talks and presentations at the PUMPplaza will receive added impetus in the form of PUMPday at the Efficiency Arena in Hall 14. With its program of lectures, talks and panel discussions, PUMPday will give exhibitors ample scope for added exposure. The Pumpe DE PUMPplaza showcase is staged in association with DdV media international. Launched just three years ago, it caught on quickly and is now the No. 1 event for anyone who makes, researches, develops or uses pumps and pump systems. The PUMPplaza concept has a solid following among both visitors and exhibitors. We have found the showcase to be extremely well organized, with excellent exhibitor support, and we are looking forward to more of the same in 2014, commented Joachim Thiele, Director of Exports, EDUR-Pumpenfabrik Eduard Redlien GmbH & Co.KG. Your contact: Marcel Meijers, DdV media international, Tel.: , marcelmeijers@ddvmedia.nl Cyber-Physical Systems as innovation drivers for Industry 4.0 The German government s Industry 4.0 initiative is designed to stimulate innovation and thereby enhance Germany s international competitiveness. That much was abundantly clear at HANNOVER MESSE In her opening address on the eve of the fair, Chancellor Merkel said that the current convergence of IT, data processing and industrial manufacturing meant that industry was on the brink of a new wave of innovation. Technically speaking, Industry 4.0 is nothing new. It has been around for several years now in the guise of concepts like the Internet of Things and Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS). As a provider of measurement, control and monitoring systems, National Instruments has a long history in CPS. CPS is where the virtual IT world merges and integrates with physical measurement and automation systems where embedded monitoring and control systems communicate via data infrastructures such as the Internet. It is fertile ground for a whole range of applications, including smart power grids, integrated telemedicine services and even smart cities and integrated traffic control systems. In this sense, Industry 4.0 is merely one of the many application areas now made possible by CPS. Rahman Jamal, Technical & Marketing Director Europe, National Instruments: The main challenge of CPS today is to seamlessly integrate existing technologies. In the past, many approaches to this have been excessively hardware-centric, and this has been at the expense of flexibility. The main advantage of the adaptive and knowledge-based dimension of CPS, on the other hand, is that it is best implemented in production environments via software-centric platforms. This is a key consideration, because when designing CPS, it is generally necessary to test a range of prototypes and special development stages and hence repeatedly reconfigure the implementation in the light of the insights gained. IT security: Industrial production needs smart protection solutions Factory production machines are becoming increasingly networked and able to talk to one another. Most automation environments in fact already use classic IT hardware and software protocols. This delivers obvious benefits in terms of lower costs and rapid access to back-office IT systems. But it s also opening up a number of security issues. In office IT environments, there are plenty of well-established security solutions and strategies to keep these issues in check. But that s not the case on the factory floor. In automated factory environments, these sorts of security solutions are largely absent. That s partly a technical problem, because security products developed for data centers and office settings aren t the best fit for production halls, explains Elmar Török, Editorin-Chief of a+s-zeitschrift für automation und security. But it s also partly because factory owners still lack the awareness and will to deal with these issues. According to Török, there are a number of IT challenges facing industrial firms, such as the need to prevent service technicians from inadvertently introducing malware on USB sticks, ensuring robust authentication of remote maintenance access, and making sure there are proper security systems in place between office systems and mobile devices. Effective security is absolutely vital in order to protect industrial systems from cyber attacks, says Oliver Winzenried, CEO of the German-based IT security and digital licensing specialist WIBU-SYSTEMS AG. The company is responding to a growing need in the manufacturing sector for factory-friendly IT security solutions. Its CodeMeter products, which can be retrofitted to existing control systems, encrypt and digitally sign embedded software and data. In this way, they safeguard against cyber attacks and the reverse engineering of sensitive plant and machinery. At HANNOVER MESSE 2014, these kinds of innovative IT solutions for IP and product protection will be on display at the new Industrial Security & Product Protection display area in Hall 8. For further details, see the information sheet included with this newsletter.

Page 4 October 2013 Ethernet becomes standard communications network for industrial automation systems Guy Denis, Business Development Manager, Strategic Partnerships Europe, Cisco Sysstems Ltd. The biggest highlight for Cisco at HANNOVER MESSE was the clear evidence that Ethernet and TCP/IP Ethernet has now unquestionably become the standard communications network for industrial automation systems. This is representative of the wider convergence between IT and industrial systems that been gained further momentum in recent years. It was also very encouraging to see that cloud based manufacturing, Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things are clearly seen as the key trends for the future, and that major automation vendors are adopting this as the strategic way forward for the automation and manufacturing industry. These technology developments will place an ever increasing requirement and dependency on automation systems consisting of servers, storage and high-availability networks. When this is combined with enhanced web-based services, it forms a perfect storm of technology evolution for the automation industry that Cisco is uniquely placed to support and augment. Another area where there was strong interest in Hannover was in relation to the cyber protection of automation systems. This is IT OT an area where Cisco has deep domain knowledge and is continuously developing solutions to defend against the threat to industrial and enterprise IT. Cisco is committed to supporting the information enablement of industrial automation systems and intends to be the market leader for industrial IT networks. To achieve this, we will continue to develop strategic partnerships and to rapidly evolve our switching, routing, wireless and server solutions and architectures to exceed the needs of future industrial IT networks. Cisco s new Internet of Things business unit was established for this very purpose. It is the culmination of our successful strategy of integrating information technology (IT) with operational technology (OT). Industrial apps for production and maintenance Apps are what smartphone and tablet owners use to organize their social and working lives, right? Well, now it s industry s turn. In industrial settings, apps can now be used to do just about anything, including optimize capacity utilization, simulate processes, calculate energy savings, measure workpieces, test components, program robots and even control machines. The range of apps is enormous. Online statistics company Statistica Inc. predicts that worldwide app downloads will exceed 287 billion per year by Industrial apps will feature prominently at the Industrial IT Forum and in numerous lectures and discussion groups at HANNOVER MESSE An extensive lineup of providers will present apps for production planning and control. Wireless: All areas of industry are affected by this new technology Contact: Nils Fickler, organizer of the Wireless & M2M pavilion Tel.: info@wirelessm2m.de In 2014, the Wireless & M2M pavilion in Hall 8 will again be putting the spotlight on key issues in wireless communication technology and wireless machine-to-machine (M2M) communication. The pavilion s organizer, Nils Fickler, explains why. Wireless communication can optimize a whole range of business processes. What do you see as the key trends for the next few years? Already more than half of all broadband users in the EU connect to the Internet wirelessly, and the experts are picking this to reach around 80 percent in The level of internet communication via mobile devices is growing exponentially it s basically doubling every year. The growing use of mobile devices will radically change the way people work in many companies. What are the benefits of this trend? Wireless communication is optimizing many existing processes in industry, such as resource management, maintenance and repair. But the fact is, all areas of industry are affected by this new technology. What kinds of problems are associated with wireless communication? As you d expect, there are a number of challenges companies need to deal with. IT security, IT standards and data transmission stability are three of the main ones. But, of course, industrial companies are very innovative, so there are already multiple solutions available for each of these challenges. Apart from that, another big issue facing many industrial companies is the task of keeping their employees informed. And that is where HANNOVER MESSE comes in. As a highly international event, it is the ideal platform for keeping up to date with the latest technologies and tracking worldwide trends.

Page 5 October 2013 Microtechnology miniaturized and purpose-designed drives the way of the future Micro and nano technology have become an indispensable part of our daily lives. Tiny high-precision drives perform critical functions in smartphones, zoom lenses, semiconductors, and measuring and data storage systems. New designs that involve few or no moving parts have reduced the cost and boosted the energy efficiency of drives. Miniature drives for microtechnology: the future belongs to piezo-based and magnetic solutions German company Physik Instrumente (PI), which specializes in precision drive and positioning systems, will return to HANNOVER MESSE in 2014 to demonstrate its expertise in microtechnology. Next year, PI will showcase drive designs that take advantage of the unique properties of piezoceramic components. Typical examples include piezoelectric motors that are used in handling and positioning applications. Steffen Arnold, the head of PI s Market and Products division: As well as piezoceramic drives, we ve recently started using magnetic linear direct drives for applications that require long service lives and involve long travel ranges in combination with high speeds or high scan frequencies. Magnetic positioning systems have a number of advantages over their conventional motorspindle counterparts, particularly when it comes to service life and high-dynamic positioning. Our new PIMag series enables us to tailor system components, such as stators, actuators and electronics, to the specific requirements of our customers. Our piezo-based nano-positioning range has featured this kind of customization for quite some time, and it has been well received by users, Steffen Arnold said. Users of PI s magnetic direct drive range were now also benefiting from customization, not to mention the company s expertise in the selection and use of digital control systems, guide systems and high-speed communication interfaces. Miniaturized piezoceramic and magnetic drives will pave the way for new advances in microtechnology and inspire new solutions. And that is why we are in good hands at HANNOVER MESSE. The fair enables us to connect with a diverse audience from all sectors of industry. Laser specialist ACSYS presents multitalent for industrial automation Lasers are fast, accurate and efficient, plus they can be used in a wide range of applications. In fact, in many areas whether welding, cutting or surface finishing advanced laser processing systems are already replacing conventional production methods. In 2014, the German laser system manufacturer ACSYS Lasertechnik GmbH will exhibit at HANNOVER MESSE for the first time. Housed in Hall 17, it will showcase products and systems for laser engraving, laser cutting, laser welding and applying 3D textures to technical surfaces. The flagship product of our showcase will be our BARRACUDA Multi high-precision laser system, explains ACSYS Marketing Manager Thilo von Grafenstein. The system is modular, meaning that multi-axis solutions, optical recognition systems and robotic modules can be added, depending on what the customer wants. It s a real multitalent for the industrial automation sector. At its display in Hall 17, ACSYS Lasertechnik will be putting this new laser-based multitalent through its paces in a series of live demonstrations.
