Horizon 2020, Industrial Leadership (LEIT) Priority An Overview of Calls related to OLAE LEIT ICT Smart Anything Everywhere Initiative Area 4 OLAE 3.5 M Call Deadline 8 November 2016

ICT : Smart Anything Everywhere Initiative (SAE Initiative) SAE is an initiative of the European Commission (launched in March 2015) that will build ecosystems across the complete value in a large number of small s facilitated by Europe's leading competence centres with the aim to transfer knowledge and resources available in digital technologies to a much wider group of companies. Challenge is to accelerate the, development and uptake of advanced digital technologies by European industry, especially SMEs and mid-caps, in products that include innovative electronic components, software and systems.

SAE Initiative Application Experiments Competence Centres Infrastructure and access to technology Aim is to develop novel products or services with digital technologies Application s should be driven by user requirements. Bring together actors along value. Experts to assist new users in customising and applying digital technologies in their environment. 21

SAE Initiative Network of competence centres EU-wide network of Competence Centres Acting as the heart of Digital Innovation Hubs Competence Centres Access to technology Service for developing products Skills development Infrastructure provisioning Broker between suppliers and users Competence Centres Infrastructure and access to technology CC Infrastructure and access to technology Competence Centres Competence Centres Infrastructure and access to technology Infrastructure and access to technology CC Builds on regional strengths/smart specialisation Flexible and scalable H2020 funding can be augmented with regional/structural funds, e.g. ESIF CC Competence Centres Infrastructure and access to technology Competence Centres CC Infrastructure and access to technology Competence Centres Infrastructure and access to technology CC Competence Centres Infrastructure and access to technology Infrastructure and access to technology CC Competence Centres Competence Centres + access to finance for SMEs and Mid-Caps CC

ICT : SAE Initiative Scope Innovation Actions Proposals should address 3 aspects 1. Establish a network of competence centres offering one-stop shops for companies that want to with digital technologies inside their products. "Innovation hubs" offering facilities (access to technology platforms) and services for developing innovative products, such as, manufacturing, rapid prototyping and life-cycle management. 2. Carrying out a critical mass of cross-border s bringing together key actors across the full value and enable new users to develop novel products or services. 3. Activities to achieve long-term sustainability of one-stop shop by competence centres and the eco-system.

ICT : SAE Initiative Scope Innovation Actions Competence centres should act as brokers between suppliers and users of technology solutions and products. Application s should be driven by user requirements. Experiment descriptions in proposals should include an outline of the initial exploitation plan and business scenario. Proposals have an outline business scenario and activities for the development of a business plan for the competence centres and the marketplace. Additional Issues: Encouraged to link to existing and emerging regional or national innovation hubs. Action may involve financial support to third parties (typically 20K - 100K per party) for flexibility (in adding parties to s, responding to dynamic markets) Communication and dissemination activities shall make use of established networks reaching out to SMEs, such as Enterprise Europe Network, NCP network,

Part K of General Annexes & Article 15 of Model Grant Agreement Cascade funding - Topic ICT-04 Proposals shall clearly detail the objectives and results to be obtained from the financial support to third parties, and include at least: Maximum amount of support for each third party (typically 20K to 100K per party; to be explained in the proposal why >60K per party is necessary) A clear and exhaustive list of the types of activities Persons or categories of persons receiving financial support (eg users) Award criteria for financial support (eg conditions to make them suitable for the purpose of the action) How to determine the exact amount of the financial support (for instance 70% of total costs, only certain costs) Winners will remain third parties (not signing the grant agreement) and are not beneficiaries!
