3 What s up? SOCIAL INCUBATION TIME From smart city to smart society: From early adaptors to early majority Technology is going fast: 1. Will people adopt it? 2. Does it fit needs? People need to time to adapt. Some don t want to Resistance is growing to: - - tech (Silicon Valley, Facebook) - - politics (yellow jackets, right/left wing polarization) - dehumanization & happy few New technology = not new anymore >>> from smart city to smart society, crossing the chasm

6 Role gov & PI with i.e AI IF data = feedstock for AI programs & algorithms are opinions embedded in code (Cathy O Neil) AND: companies like Facebook, Google, Uber, tracker-companies control much of it WHILST freedom of judgement, movement etc individuals & companies maybe limited through that ownership of data SHOULDn t government & public institutions - claim ownership of data, regulate it internationally to protect integrity of persons and smaller companies? - adjust treaty human rights with digital rights?
