The common objective of these largely parallel research activities is to design and test the feasibility of an innovative instrument that efficiently combines the key exposures and determinants in an integrated method for pan-european research and/or monitoring. In this breakout session, challenging propositions and dilemma s will be put forward by TA1-representatives. This will stimulate the DEDIPAC partners to discuss how this innovative instrument could benefit from the promises of emerging ambulatory monitoring technologies. Agenda: 13:30 13:50 Instrument development for research and monitoring Pieter van t Veer (TA 1 leader, chair of discussion) Starting from a brief overview of the overall workplan and objectives of TA 1, the objective and format of this breakout session will be introduced 13:50 14:20 Diet and its determinants Thomas Kubiak (WP 1.1) 14:20 14:50 PA & SB and its determinants Ulf Ekelund (WP 1.2) 14:50 15:20 Applications in monitoring/surveillance Wolfgang Ahrens (WP 3.2) 15:20 15:45 Forum discussion and wrap up Pieter van t Veer and Ulrich Ebner-Priemer Potential and limitations for incorporating ambulatory monitoring technologies in DEDIPAC and beyond. Furthermore, best-practice methods to analyse data based on such frameworks will be developed and tested based on secondary dataanalysis (of pooled data if possible) on research questions that contribute to fill the knowledge gaps in the frameworks. TA2 will also contribute to knowledge on the best methods to measure various determinants. Agenda: 13:30 13:45 Welcome and overview of TA 2 Nanna Lien (TA 2 leader, chair of session) 13:45 14:15 Inventories of EU-studies on determinants what is known already? With a particular focus on real-life Ambulatory Assessment, experts from the fields of Ambulatory Assessment (Ebner-Priemer) and computer science and engineering (van Laerhoven) contribute to the session to explore possibilities for feasible applications for method development and related mhealth approaches to be developed. Goal: The workshop will result in a decision in terms of (a) which public health challenge to focus for the development of the integrated method and (b) which specific methodological approach to adopt that will be pursued and employed in feasibility pilots within DEDIPAC. 08:30 08:40 Introduction (Thomas Kubiak, JGU Mainz, DE) 08:40 09:30 Q & A - Ambulatory Assessment for capturing diet, physical activity/sedentary behaviour and their determinants in daily life (with Ulrich W.
