1 Buran Daughter of Khusro II. Reign AD. Year 1 = 629 AD. Buran probably acsended the throne in the summer of 629 AD, and ruled for about a year and a half. The mints AMWY (?) and DL are cited but are subject to confirmation. Denominations: D (?); d; U/6 Gobl I/1 issue: Years 1-3 Regnal year: 1 32 mm gm. 12 Grandson of Khusro II (?). Reign AD (?). Like the coins of Khusro III, above, but with a bearded bust. Denominations: d Gobl -: Years 2 and 4-7 known (?) The coins listed under Khusro IV in Mochiri are: WYHC year 2 (3 examples) and AYLAN year 2 (1 example); these coins have s typical of Khusro III; the attendants have crescent headgear. All other mint/year combinations (WYHC 5, AW 5, ST 6, GY 7, and WH 7 (1 example each)) have early Khusro II s; the attendants have round headgear. So, while there's a possibility of another Khusro, bearded bust, year 2, these coins may all be mules -- late Khusro II obverses with Khusro III, year 2 s, or late Khusro II obverses with early Khusro II s. Khusro IV (?) 631 (?) AD Mint: AW Regnal year: 1 (?) Countermark: Gobl 33a var. 31 x 29 mm gm. Gobl SN - type; Mochiri ENIS II - Diameter of obverse dotted border=22 mm.; diameter of border=23 mm.
