1 SASOLBURG NEWSFLASH Sasolburg Chamber Newsletter/Sakekamer Nuusbrief Aug/Sep 2015 Voorsitter se kommentaar / Chairman s comments. Ek glo dat dit sommer baie goed gaan met al ons wonderlike lede! Somer is hier, al ervaar nog hier en daar n koeligheid. Met n bedrywige twee maande agter die rug gee ek graag die volgende terugvoer aan ons lede! In samewerking met Vanderbijlpark Sakekamer is n vergadering met NAFCOC gehou. Dit was n opwindende sessie waarin ons NAFCOC bestuur oortuig en verwelkom het as lede van ons sakekamers. NAFCOC het verskeie probleme uitgelig en n gesamentlike besluit is deur die Vanderbijlparken Sasolburg Sakekamers se bestuurslede by name Hester, Klippies en William (myself), geneem om saam te span en die probleme uit te stryk aangesien dit in ons besighede se belang is wie, op hul beurt, n positiewe bydra aan ons land se ekonomiese groei kan bring. Daar is besluit om n MOA op te stel om die behoeftes van alle partye aan te spreek, te verwerk en op n diplomatiese wyse oplossings te vind wat vir alle partye tot voordeel sal wees. Soos dit tereg genoem is in die vergadering; ons is hier om mekaar te ondersteun, ons ondervinding aan mekaar oor te dra en van mekaar te leer ten bate van ons land Suid Afrika. Ons is tog almal Africans en tesame sal ons vooruitgang en sukses behaal!!! Its FINE to CELE- BRATE success but it is more IMPORTANT to heed the LESSONS of FAILURE. North Wests University Get into the Ring. Sakekamer lede was bevooreg om deel te wees van diè byeenkoms, en wat n byeenkoms was dit nie! Besighede het in n boks kryt teen mekaar mee geding om beoordeelaars en moontlike beleggers te beindruk. Die doel was om jong besighede en entrepreneurs te help t.o.v. van beleggers en opleiding. Die volgende semi finaal word, November 2015 in Johannesburg gehou. Een lid van VBC en twee van SBC het deur gedring na die semi finaal. Bill Gates Die GITR vir 2016 is al in beplanning en ek vermoed dit gaan nog groter en beter wees as Boom Plant Dag - Marlene, Veronica, Hannes en ek het die koue weer trotseer en namens die Sasolburg Sakekamer n perske boom in Naledi geplant. Die vrugte wat die boom in die toekoms sal lewer, sal deur iemand benuttig word. Leading Women Africa - LWA is n gekrediteerde vernoot van die Women s Economic Development. n Gala aand is gehou waar besigheids dames die voorreg gehad het om erkenning aan mans te gee wat hulle ondersteun d.m.v. entrepreneurskap en ekonomiese groei. Vroue is n groeiende koopkrag wat goeie besigheids vernuf en ekonomies toevoeging toon. Ongelyke vroue regte wêreldwyd is nie net n geslags kwessie nie maar ook sosiale en ekonomiese probleem. Die Sasolburg Sakekamer het hulle daaraan gebind om deel te word van LWA. Dawie Roodt - As voorsitter van die Sasolburg Sakekamer wil ek namens ons bestuur ons dank aan almal rig wat die Dawie Roodt funksie bygewoon het. Dit was n reuse sukses wat ons as Sakekamer gemotiveer het. Dit was n daadwerklike voorreg gewees om elke persoon wat bygewoon het te kon ontmoet! Dankie aan ieder en elk vir die tyd wat opgeoffer was om deel te wees van die funksie. AHI, Gala Aand - Die gala aand was aangebied in Pretoria. Prof Tommie van die AHI was een van die sprekers wat ons insiggewende detail oor ons land se ekonomie aangebied het. KaraboFM - Ons lede maak beslis gebruik van die praat sessies op Vrydae. All parties came to the conclusion that a MOA shall be drafted regarding the way forward and how a solution to the problems regarding business growth and development in South Africa can be addressed.

We are entering a new phase in conducting business and as mentioned in the meeting; We should support, learn and share our business expertise with each other.

Chamber member s had the opportunity to participate in this exciting session presented by NWU.

This took place in a boxing ring to impress the judges and investors. The semi-final will be held in November 2015 in Johannesburg.

The meeting was held in order to address issues that the respective parties are experiencing while doing business in South Africa. All parties came to the conclusion that a MOA shall be drafted regarding the way forward and how a solution to the problems regarding business growth and development in South Africa can be addressed. Sasolburg- and Vanderbijlpark Chamber management urged NAFCOC management to join our respective organisations to help ensure and achieve the common goal set out by the MOA. We are entering a new phase in conducting business and as mentioned in the meeting; We should support, learn and share our business expertise with each other. We are all Africans and together, as Africans, we shall attain success!!! North Wests University Get into the Ring. Chamber member s had the opportunity to participate in this exciting session presented by NWU. Young businesses and entrepreneurs had to present their businesses and/or ideas in front of a panel of judges and possible investors. This took place in a boxing ring to impress the judges and investors. The semi-final will be held in November 2015 in Johannesburg. One member from VBC and two from SBC qualified and will compete in the semi-final. The GITR for 2016 is currently being planned and promises to be bigger and better than Sasolburg Sakekamer plant Perskeboom vir boomplantdag. Sasolburg Sakekamer maak hulle bydrae op n bitterlike koue en reënige dag om sodoende n perskeboom vir die gemeenskap en natuur te plant. Die hele idee agter n vrugteboom die jaar was dat daar so baie mense in die gemeenskap is wat honger lei as gevolg van werkloosheid. Daar is baie vrugte bome deur Lusa Comminity Arbour Day - Four of us braved the cold and showed our support on Arbour Day. We planted a peach tree in Naledi of which the fruit it will bare in the future may be used by someone when in need. As chairperson I was privileged to be the MC at the Dawie Roodt Function. My sincere thanks to each and every one that sacrificed their time to attend. The function was a huge success and made us proud. It was an honour and pleasure meeting all attendees on the day! AHI, Gala Evening - The event was held in Pretoria and we were unlighted by Prof Tommie regarding the current economic situation and issues in South Africa. It is an honor to announce the new Vice elected by management from Sasolburg Business Chamber. Loanne Loots was elected by management to take over from Elmore Marshall who has resigned his position as Vice-special projects. Loanne we welcome you!
