2 Profiled Rail BeltDrive Actuators MXBP Parts Sheet #0000_0 PROCEDURE MXBP b a 0 0 EXPLODED DRAWING REPEATED FOR REFERENCE GENERAL ACTUATOR DISASSEMBLY. Remove Head End Caps (). Remove Low Head Cap Screws (). Position the Carrier () away from the Belt Clamps (, ) exposing the Turnbuckle (). Loosen the Turnbuckle () removing all belt tension. The Carrier () can be removed from the Bearing Blocks (b) by removing Fasteners ().. Remove the Belt () from the Belt Clamps (, ) by removing Fasteners () and Belt Clamp Bottom (). The Belt () can now be removed from the actuator.. Remove the Retaining Rings () from each of the Heads (). Note that the Bearing/Shaft Assemblies (, ) are slip fit into the Head (), but are bonded in the bore w/ Loctite, so it may be necessary to press the Shaft Assemblies (, ) out of the Head ().. Remove the Heads () from the Tube (0) by removing Fasteners (). GENERAL ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY. Install the Drive and Idle Heads () to the Tube (0). Note that the bumper Spacer () installs onto the Drive End Head ().. Install one retaining Ring () in each Head (). Apply a light coating of Loctite to the OD of the bearings of the Pulley Assemblies (, ) and to the ID of the bearing bores of each Head () and install the Drive and Idle Shaft/Bearing Assemblies (, ) into the Heads (). NOTE THAT ORIENTATION OF THE DRIVE SHAFT IS DETERMINED BY THIS ASSEMBLY STEP. Install the remaining Retaining Ring () into each Head ().. Feed the Belt () into the Tube (0) from one end of the actuator. Install a Belt Clamp (, ) to each end of the Belt () with Belt Clamp Bottoms () and Fasteners (). NOTE THAT ONE BELT CLAMP () WILL HAVE LEFT HAND THREADS FOR THE TURNBUCKLE (). Assemble with the left hand thread Belt Clamp () nearest the drive end Head (). Start the Turnbuckle () into each of the Belt Clamps (, ). Position Hex Nuts () in their respective slots of the Belt Clamps (, ).. Position Carrier () over the Bearing Blocks (b) and attach with Fasteners (). Position the Carrier () over the Belt Clamps (, ) and install Fasteners (), leaving loose at this time.. TENSION THE BELT: To measure belt tension, position the edge of the Carrier () that is nearest the Head () " from the inside edge of the Head () (either end of the actuator). Locate a force gage on the Belt () from the inside edge of the Head (). Deflect the Belt () /" [ mm] in either direction. The force gage should read between and lbs. [ N]. Release tension on Belt (0) by breaking loose the Motor Fasteners ().. Remove RP Cover ().. Remove both Drive Pulley () and Driven Pulley () from their respective shafts. The Belt (0) will come off with the Pulleys (, ).. Remove Motor Fasteners () from the UPlate (), to remove the motor from the Housing ().. Remove the Housing () from the Adapter Plate () by removing Fasteners (). REVERSE PARALLEL ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS: *Apply Loctite # to all fasteners upon installation 0. Install Housing () to the Adapter Plate () with Cap Screws ().. Install the Motor to the Housing () with Fasteners () into the UPlate (). Do not tighten the Fasteners () at this time.. Locate the Belt (0) over the Pulleys (, ) and slide the Drive () and Driven () Pulleys over their respective shafts. Tighten each Pulley (, ) to its shaft with either Trantorque () or Collar Clamp (). If Trantorque (), use a torque wrench to apply appropriate torque. ½ hex on Trantorque () apply inlbs. (. Nm). / hex on Trantorque () apply 00 inlbs. (. Nm).. Verify that there is clearance between the inside of the Housing () and each Pulley (, ). Verify that the Pulleys (, ) are aligned to each other.. Position the Cover () in mating slot of the Housing () and install the Fastener () to hold in place. Take care not to overtighten. If the Cover () is deflected it can interfere with the moving parts.. Tension the Belt (0) by pulling the motor away from the Drive Shaft Assembly (page #) with the appropriate force in the chart below. Tighten the Motor Fasteners () while this force is applied to the motor. While applying light pressure to the switch, rotate the switch halfway into the groove. Maintaining light pressure, rotate the switch in the opposite direction until the switch is fully inside the groove with "Tolomatic" visible.
